Jonathan Majors ‘marries' Meagan Good nearly a year after domestic assault sentencing

Independent19-03-2025
Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good have reportedly tied the knot.
Ahead of the release of Majors' latest film, Magazine Dreams, the couple were wed in an intimate ceremony in Los Angeles, Entertainment Tonight reported.
Majors' mother officiated and Good's mother was the witness, according to the outlet.
The Independent has reached out to representatives for Majors and Good for comment.
The couple confirmed their engagement to People in November 2024 while attending the EBONY Power 100 Gala where they first met in 2022. "We're feeling great,' Good told People at the time while flaunting her diamond ring. 'It's a season of joy,' Majors added.
Good and Majors were first linked in May 2023, around the same time he was facing trial for misdemeanor assault and harassment charges. The charges stemmed from an incident involving his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari in March 2023. Jabbari, 31, accused Majors of hitting her, fracturing her finger, twisting her arm, and causing her to bleed after striking her ear.
In December 2023, Majors was found guilty of two counts of misdemeanor assault and harassment. He was also found not guilty of one count of assault in the third degree and aggravated harassment in the second degree.
Majors avoided jail time but was sentenced to a year-long domestic abuse prevention program in April 2024. Jabbari has since dropped an assault and defamation lawsuit against Majors, after the Marvel actor claimed both before and during the trial that he did not assault Jabbari.
Good — who was previously married to producer DeVon Franklin until their 2022 divorce — publicly supported Majors throughout the trial, even accompanying him to court. In July 2024, she admitted to People that Majors 'tried to encourage me not to be with him. He wanted to protect me.'
That same month, during an appearance on Today With Hoda & Jenna, the Think Like a Man actor said 'every friend' advised her to wait until Majors' proceedings were complete before engaging in a relationship.
'But at the end of the day, one thing I know is I can always look myself in the mirror when I trust my spirit, when I trust God, when I ask God, and when I move to the beat of my own drum,' Good continued. 'I can always look and say, 'Ok I'm proud of that.' No matter whatever happens I have peace in my heart and harmony in my heart.'
Magazine Dreams marks Majors' return to the big screen following the domestic assault scandal that brought his rising career to a halt. Majors plays an up-and-coming bodybuilder who abuses steroids on his ascent to stardom. The film opens in theaters on March 21.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter publicizing the movie, Majors admitted that the aftermath of the domestic assault trial forced him to address unresolved issues from his childhood.
'I dealt with sexual abuse from both men and women from the time I was 9,' Majors said. 'From people who are supposed to look after you, in the absence of a father. I was f***ed up.'
Through therapy, he's been able to confront the trauma he experienced. Majors said he's only recently spoken to his mother about what happened to him decades ago.
'I'm like, 'It's not even an issue, mom. I just want you to know. And now we can all get busy and continue to connect and grow and learn from it, because it's something that was in our family,'' said Majors.
As he looks to the film's release he acknowledged, 'There are no excuses, but by getting help, you begin to understand things about yourself.'

Joanna Lumley barely recognisable as she plays grandma in Netflix hit Wednesday

Jenna Ortega fronts the second season of Wednesday on Netflix. It's creepier, kookier and more mysterious than ever - it even features national treasure Joanna Lumley. The plot thickens in Wednesday's second season as the hit Netflix dives deep into the Addams family dynamics - Joanna Lumley has even joined the cast as a member of the comically macabre clan. ‌ At 22 years old, You and Wednesday star Jenna Ortega is already stepping behind the camera after being mentored by legendary director Tim Burton. ‌ The actress is a producer on the eagerly awaited second series of Wednesday, which sees follows the Addams family star's adventures at school and features a star-studded cast. ‌ Catherine Zeta-Jones returns as Wednesday's glamorous mother Morticia and Luis Guzmán is back as her father Gomez, while Steve Buscemi is joining as Nevermore Academy head Principle Barry Dort and Dame Joanna Lumley joins as Grandmama Hester Frump. Thandiwe Newton stars as psychiatrist Dr Rachael Fairburn and former pop star Billie Piper will play head of music Isadora Capri. 'It's been a really amazing experience being a producer,' Jenna says. 'It's been so cool being a part of conversations, talking about the color of blood, or the color of prosthetics and if the brain isn't big enough. Things that are quite silly, but really do make a big difference on the show.' ‌ Fresh from Jenna and director Tim's collaboration on Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Tim is back to direct episodes and is full of praise for the star: 'There was no question about it. That's who the character is, and she brings so much to it,' Tim says. 'She's a real equal part of and partner in this process. She's smart, she's easy and fun to work with, and she knows her character.' The feeling is mutual. 'He's one of the funniest people I know and probably my favourite directors I've ever worked with, so it's nice to have gotten into such a routine,' Jenna says. 'We've got quite comfortable, especially after Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.' On screen though, things are far from easygoing and season two kicks off with a bang. 'This season we start off with Wednesday being kidnapped,' Jenna says, 'I don't think I'm going to explain too much more than that.' ‌ Filming for Wednesday has now moved from Romania to Ireland, which Jenna discovered for the first time. But big changes are happening inside Nevermore Academy, too. Following the death of Principal Larissa Weems (Gwendoline Christie), the school welcomes a new headmaster, Principal Dort. 'I worked with Steve Buscemi many, many years ago, and I always wanted to again,' says Tim. 'It was such a pleasure to work with him on this because he brought something different.' Dort is no carbon copy of Weems. 'Weems was very much about trying to fit into things,' Tim says, 'Every new principal brings in their own agenda. They bring in their own kind of 'Nevermore forever' attitude.' ‌ Among the new faces at Nevermore is a familiar one: Wednesday's younger brother, Pugsley. Played by Isaac Ordonez, Pugsley becomes fascinated by the tale of the Skull Tree. 'It's about a Nevermore legend, one of Nevermore's greatest minds,' Isaac explains, 'He created amazing inventions, including his own clockwork heart. But the longer he had his clockwork heart, the darker he became. ‌ Eventually, one of his inventions malfunctioned and it led to his death.' Naturally, Pugsley takes things a step further: 'My character hears this story and is inspired to go dig him up, revive him, and try to be friends with him.' The Addams family drama doesn't stop there. Wednesday's mother Morticia gets a job at Nevermore, much to her daughter's dismay. 'Morticia being more associated with Nevermore is not something that Wednesday anticipated,' Catherine says. 'The family being more associated with Nevermore is a little bit of a thorn in Wednesday's side.' Despite the on-screen tension, Jenna only has admiration for her co-star. 'She's so easy to work with,' Jenna says. 'I feel really lucky to have experienced this mother-daughter dynamic with someone as incredible as Catherine.' ‌ Speaking of mothers - there's more upheaval ahead with Hester Frump, Morticia's mother, making her own arrival in the series. 'As we all know, at Christmastime when you bring the family together, that's when the nightmare begins,' Tim says. 'That was fun to play with, and having Joanna Lumley as Morticia's mother just made it extra special.' Jenna adds: 'She is just the sweetest. Every time I saw her on set, and she called me 'honey' or 'darling' or 'baby,' I just melted. She's got the sweetest voice and she's hilarious.' ‌ Off-screen, Jenna is still navigating the pressures that come with the role. She's previously opened up about living with OCD and anxiety - and leading a beloved series at just 18 wasn't without challenges. 'When we started the show, I was 18 and had never worked with a director as big as Tim. I had led a show before, but not with a character that was so well known and loved prior to me joining,' she says. 'It's a relief, but I would be lying if I didn't say that I still don't feel super anxious or feel like I have something I need to live up to every day on set. Maybe that's a good thing, but it hasn't gotten easier.' But while Jenna treads gently, Wednesday strides. 'She's gotten a little bit more comfortable,' Jenna says. 'She's learned to take things maybe slightly less seriously - or be a bit more playful.'

Naga Munchetty shares honest thoughts on BBC Breakfast role in rare comment

BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty has been a regular face on the show since 2014 and has previously opened up about the 'buzz' she gets from her role Naga Munchetty has expressed her enjoyment for her role on BBC Breakfast, feeling "lucky" to have her job as a presenter. ‌ Since 2014, the television and radio personality has been a staple co-host on the show, usually presenting from Thursday to Saturday alongside Charlie Stayt. ‌ In today's episode (July 24), Naga shared her enthusiasm for her position during a light-hearted exchange. ‌ While interviewing Plebs actor Tom Basden, Naga jokingly remarked: "Going to work and enjoying your job? Awful." Comedian and writer Tom responded with a simple "Imagine," prompting Naga to confess: "I don't have to actually, I'm lucky," reports the Express. The interview had focused on Tom talking about the return of Here We Go for a new series, where he revealed they had to stop filming "a lot" because the cast couldn't stop laughing. ‌ "Because we have these very long takes where the camera is following the family through the house, things can go wrong very quickly and we just make each other laugh a lot" he admitted. Tom added: "By the time we've done 10 or 12 takes of a scene, it can often get a bit unwieldy and we struggle to actually get through it." Referencing how much the cast made each other laugh on set, he continued: "It's a nice problem to have," leading to Naga's comments on enjoying her job. ‌ Naga, who has also graced the dance floor on Strictly Come Dancing, has spoken before about the "buzz" she experiences from live TV and how on-air blunders often result in studio laughter. In a candid 2023 interview with The Independent, she reflected on her decade-long tenure and the thrill it still brings her. ‌ "I am always buzzing," she confessed. "I'm buzzing before I start the show, because you have to go in with that energy." She also addressed the challenges of live TV, which can lead to unforgettable moments and unpredictable interviews, such as when Lewis Capaldi had Naga and the BBC Breakfast team in stitches with his cheeky comment about "rimming". ‌ "I love them," Naga declared regarding the spontaneous nature of live interviews. "I absolutely love them." She emphasised the balance required on air, stating: "As much as there is a persona you have when you are on telly as a host, you have to be human." "When Lewis said that it was just really funny," she added. "But you also have to be mindful of the sensibilities of your audience. "So you also acknowledge that it was a bit rude. Our audience is smart, they get that it's live TV."

Jessica Simpson suffers embarrassing wardrobe malfunction during Today show concert

She entitled her memoir Open Book. But Jessica Simpson inadvertently revealed more than intended with fans during a performance on the Today show. Whilst hitting the stage, Jessica's taupe dress slipped down her cleavage - showing off her pink bra. Ordinarily the corset style dress would cover the entirety of her bust, but for whatever reason, the frock struggled to adhere to her dress. Video of the performance shows Jessica singing through the wardrobe mishap, either unaware of or not minding that accidental bra flash. Fortunately the newly-single star, 40, didn't let the embarrassing mishap ruin her day as she even cracked a joke about it with the Today show correspondents. 'How does it feel back on the stage, the first release in 15 years?' NBC News journalist Peter Alexander asked Simpson. 'It's insane! Of course, like I had a malfunction here,' she said, gesturing her hand beside her head, 'and everywhere, but it's ok! I think my boob's stayed in, so that's good!' she quipped. The wardrobe mishap wasn't Jessica's only head-turning moment during her Today appearance. Jessica also took a swipe at her dating history while sharing her list of relationship non-negotiables during an interview with host Jenna Bush Hager. When asked what she is looking for in her next partner, the singer and entrepreneur shared the criteria she's looking for in a man. 'My type of person is a one-of-a-kind,' she gushed. 'I don't have like, a look or anything like that. I just like for somebody to be individually who they are and exude confidence without the ego.' The performer, who split from Eric Johnson after 10 years of marriage earlier this year, explained she's had trouble finding someone self-assured, but not cocky. 'I feel like it's out there, and I don't need somebody to be supportive of me all the time,' the mother-of-three added. 'I feel like the independence I have right now, if I can have that and give it to someone else, that would be cool.' Her comment about wanting 'confidence without the ego' seemed to point to her rocky relationship with first husband Nick Lachey. While writing about their split in her 2020 memoir, Open Book, she admitted: 'We really got crushed by the media and by ourselves.' 'I respect Nick very much. I was really young and my success hadn't really begun. He knew me as this young innocent 18-year-old that had never been introduced to the world in so many ways,' she explained. 'I went straight from my father to him. Nick's very smart. He was eight years older than me, but he was also young.' As documented on their reality show, Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica, the former couple struggled with his resentment of her career. 'We were not one of those couples that screamed at each other, let whatever fly out of our mouths, and then make mad, passionate love,' she added. 'We would yell at each other, and then he would go out of town and not answer his phone.' During her Today interview, Simpson also noted that she has no plans to walk down the aisle, but is 'very passionate' and has 'a lot to give.' Simpson also emphasized that whoever she dates next has to be 'a very good kisser.' 'See, that's like the most intimate thing. Grab my face and pull me in! Can you tell I need it?' the I Wanna Love You Forever hitmaker mused. Hager, 43, then assured Simpson that she would find her a match and one that could live up to her smooching standards. 'Even if it's just one night!' Simpson playfully shot back.
