Group kicks off complete-unit activities with rerecorded hits and a special livestream event
Boy band Monsta X marked its 10th year with the release of 'Now Project Vol.1" on Wednesday, marking the group's first full-group album in nearly four years.
According to its agency, Starship Entertainment, the digital album was unveiled at noon and signals the return of Monsta X as a complete unit.
The title 'Now' is a nod to the present and a reverse of 'Mon,' the prefix in the group's name, symbolizing a reflection on the group's identity and timeline.
Debuting in May 2015, with its first EP 'Trespass,' Monsta X celebrates exactly 10 years since their debut by reuniting all six members for this special release. The album includes 10 tracks previously released between 2021 and 2023, during which leader Shownu was completing his mandatory military service and unable to participate.
Tracks such as 'Rush Hour,' 'Love' and 'Beautiful Liar' have been rerecorded to feature all six members' vocals, including recently discharged Hyungwon, who completed his military service Tuesday. Other songs include fan favorites like 'Autobahn,' 'Ride with U,' 'Mercy,' 'Love You,' 'Lone Ranger,' 'Deny' and 'It's Okay.'
All songs have been newly arranged and recorded to reflect the group's current sound. The members also participated in the songwriting, composing and production, showcasing their musical growth and identity as self-producing idols.
Monsta X is scheduled to host a special livestream on Wednesday at 7 p.m on its official YouTube channel to celebrate the group's debut anniversary. All six members will appear together to reflect on their journey, interact with fans in real-time and kick off their next chapter.
Known for their intense concepts, strong discography and commanding stage presence, Monsta X has earned its reputation as 'trustworthy performers,' with fans trusting the group in both music and performance.

Belgian National Orchestra to make Korea debut, reuniting with pianist Paik Hae-sun after 34 years

BNO and pianist to tour six cities in Korea The Belgian National Orchestra will make its long-awaited Korean debut this fall. From Sept. 24 to 30, the ensemble will present six performances across the country, beginning at Seoul Arts Center. The program will feature Paik Hae-sun, one of Korea's most iconic pianists and a renowned educator, in a long-anticipated reunion with the orchestra after 34 years. Paik will join the BNO and conductor Antony Hermus to perform Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5, the 'Emperor.' Their last collaboration dates back to 1991, when Paik was a finalist at the Queen Elisabeth Competition, performing Tchaikovsky's "Piano Concerto No. 1" and Patrice Challulau's "Vers La Cite Du Chagrin" under the baton of Ronald Zollman. The BNO, which serves as the resident orchestra of Brussels' BOZAR Centre for Fine Arts, is a longtime partner of the Queen Elisabeth Competition. Paik placed fourth at the 1991 Queen Elisabeth Competition, which is still the highest result for a South Korean pianist, matched only by Han Ji-ho in 2016. While Korean musicians have taken top prizes in violin, voice and composition categories, the piano division remains elusive. Paik, now 60, made history as a laureate of nearly every major international competition she entered, became the first Korean pianist to sign with EMI ClassicsCand was appointed to the faculty of Seoul National University at age 29. The tour will feature a traditional repertoire, opening with the overture to Mozart's "La Clemenza Di Tito," which was composed in the final year of his life. The second half will feature Brahms' "Symphony No. 1." Dutch conductor Hermus, who took over as music director of the Belgian National Orchestra in 2022 following Hugh Wolff's tenure, will be returning to Korea for the fourth time. He previously led the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra in 2016, 2018 and 2019. Both Hermus and Paik are deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of musicians. Hermus holds visiting posts at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and the National Master of Orchestral Conducting program, and regularly teaches at the Sibelius Academy and the Royal Northern College of Music. Paik serves as chair of the piano department at the New England Conservatory and continues to mentor young talents, including 2025 Long-Thibaud winner Kim Se-hyun. The BNO traces its origins to the Brussels Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1931 by Belgian conductor Desire Defauw (1885-1960). In 1936, the ensemble was renamed the Belgian National Orchestra, which is considered its official founding year. The Korean tour will include stops at Andong Arts Center in Andong, North Gyeongsang Province, on Sept. 25; Gyeonggi Arts Center in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, on Sept. 26; Gongju Culture and Arts Center in Gongju, South Chungcheong Province, on Sept. 27; Daegu Concert House in Daegu on Sept. 28; and Goyang AramNuri in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, on Sept. 30 as part of the DMZ Open Festival.

New Young Posse EP drops next month

Rising hip-hop girl group returns five months after special album 'Cold' Young Posse will be releasing its fourth EP, 'Growing Pain pt.1 : Free,' on Aug. 14, according to its agency DSP Media, Monday. The group's return comes just five months after the release of its special album, 'Cold,' in March. At midnight Sunday, Young Posse unveiled a schedule for the new album via its official social media accounts, signaling the start of promotion activities. The EP will drop at 6 p.m. on Aug. 14 through major music streaming platforms. The schedule, filled with comic-like visuals of CDs, gloves, a cowboy hat, musical notes and cocktails, hints at a quirky concept in line with the group's unpredictable style. Young Posse also unveiled 'Off Route' ahead of the new release. In this series of mood films, the members challenge the norms in everyday settings with their playful, unconventional actions. Known for its rebellious image and traditional hip-hop sounds — as seen in tracks such as 'Macaroni Cheese,' 'XXL' and 'Ate That' — the group has been called the 'daughter of Korean hip-hop' for its fresh and daring take on the genre. Young Posse has continued to expand its global presence since its October 2023 debut, demonstrating its reach with a successful US tour and events in Korea, Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
