NFL to fine about 100 players for selling Super Bowl 59 tickets above face value
The person, speaking to the AP on condition of anonymity because of the ongoing investigation, said the players who resold their tickets will have to pay a fine of 1 1/2 times the face value they paid. They also won't be permitted to buy tickets for the next two Super Bowls unless they are playing in the game.
Club employees who violated the policy will be fined two times face value.
The NFL is fining about 100 players and two dozen employees over the reselling of Super Bowl 59 tickets above face value.

In a memo sent to teams and obtained by the AP, NFL head of compliance Sabrina Perel said the league was still completing its investigation.
'Our initial investigation has determined that a number of NFL players and coaches, employed by several NFL Clubs, sold Super Bowl tickets for more than the ticket's face value in violation of the Policy.'
'This long-standing League Policy, which is specifically incorporated into the Collective Bargaining Agreement, prohibits League or Club employees, including players, from selling NFL game tickets acquired from their employer for more than the ticket's face value or for an amount greater than the employee originally paid for the ticket, whichever is less.'
Players involved in the incident will be barred from attending the next two Super Bowls, unless they're playing in the games.

'We are in the process of completing our investigation into this matter, but the investigation has revealed that club employees and players sold their tickets to a small number of 'bundlers' who were working with a ticket reseller to sell the Super Bowl tickets above face value.'
According to the CBA, players on all 32 teams can purchase two tickets for the Super Bowl.
'In advance of Super Bowl LX, we will be enhancing the mandatory compliance training regarding the Policy for all League personnel, which will emphasize the specific requirements of the Policy and the broader principle that no one should profit personally from their NFL affiliation at the expense of our fans,'
Perel said in the memo. 'We will also increase the penalties for future violations of this Policy. All clubs must ensure their personnel understand and comply with this policy. Additional details regarding the enhanced compliance measures will be provided in early fall.'
The Philadelphia Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs on Feb. 9 in a Super Bowl rematch from two years ago.

49ers activate Ricky Pearsall from PUP list and Brock Purdy returns to practice
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — The San Francisco 49ers activated second-year receiver Ricky Pearsall from the physically unable to perform list and he practiced for the first time this summer. Niners quarterback Brock Purdy was also back at practice Sunday after missing a session on Friday for personal reasons. Pearsall had been out since injuring his hamstring during the offseason program. The Niners are counting on a big season from the 2024 first-round pick after trading away Deebo Samuel and with Brandon Aiyuk expected to miss the start of the season recovering from knee surgery. Pearsall had a difficult rookie season, missing almost all of camp with injuries to his hamstring and shoulder and then sitting out the first half of the season after being shot in a robbery attempt in San Francisco. Pearsall returned in Week 7 and finished the season with 31 catches for 400 yards and three touchdowns in 11 games. Right tackle Jawaan Taylor returns to practice as Chiefs put pads on for first time in training camp
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (AP) — Kansas City Chiefs right tackle Jawaan Taylor made his training camp debut after missing their first four practices because of a knee injury, and he was right in the mix with the starters Sunday as they put on pads for the first time. Backup tight end Tre Watson, who also had been out with a groin injury, passed his physical and joined Taylor on the field. Taylor has started all 33 regular-season games he has played for Kansas City over the past two seasons. But his blocking metrics coupled with a propensity for penalties mean his job is far from secure. The Chiefs signed backup 49ers tackle Jaylon Moore to a two-year, $30 million deal and used their first-round draft pick on Ohio State standout Josh Simmons. After the first week of camp, Simmons appears to have the inside track on the left tackle job, which was a problem position for the Chiefs all of last season. So when Taylor returned, it was in a rotation with Moore for first-team snaps on Sunday. 'We're getting back in the swing. He hasn't done anything," Chiefs coach Andy Reid said of Taylor, who showed up on the injury report with knee trouble much of last season and had offseason surgery. 'But all three are kind of competing there.' Reid said he was pleased with the way Simmons looked in his first padded practice. There was some question about whether he would even be ready for camp after tearing his patellar tendon in a game with the Buckeyes last season. 'He did some good things. I wasn't focusing on him the whole time, but I thought he did some good things,' Reid said. 'He's a work in progress. He has to keep working. Young guy.'
