'I wanted to show my daughter that we can balance everything,' Anita says. 'That women can build something of their own and still be present at home. That's why I named the company after her — Zena.'
It's more than just a name. It's a philosophy. Anita wants her daughter — and other young women — to grow up seeing that ambition isn't at odds with femininity or family. That designer bags and business plans can go hand in hand. That high heels and higher goals aren't mutually exclusive.
The Dubai Bling with a Business Brain
Anita may embody the high-maintenance Dubai aesthetic — gold ceilings, curated opulence, and a wardrobe to rival a fashion week runway — but she's also a fierce businesswoman. When she launched her firm, her first instinct was to create a lavish office space, only to be firmly reminded by Moiz to get her priorities straight.
'He told me, 'First pay off that office. Then make sure the employees are paid — from your pocket, not ours,'' Anita laughs. It's this balance of style and substance, aesthetics and accountability, that has helped her business flourish.
Yes, she's a self-proclaimed shopaholic who adores The Dubai Mall and jokes about her credit card bills. But the thrill of spending her own money — earned through her creativity, grit, and business acumen — hits different. 'I enjoy money,' she says candidly. 'But I enjoy it more when it's mine.'

Wage hike: Contract sanitary workers feel deceived by Coimbatore corporation
Coimbatore: Contract sanitary workers on Saturday accused the city corporation of deceiving them by promising to hike their wages to around Rs681 per day from around Rs560, with effect from May 1, 2025. The temporary workers said it was following a protest in April that the city corporation agreed to pay them around Rs681 per day. "The civic body said the gross salary it could offer was Rs20,454 per month. Officials told us that the revised salary will come into effect from May 1. But in May, those of us who worked for the entire month without taking any leave were paid only around Rs16,000 after deductions. It looks like the civic body is deducting both the employee's and employer's contributions to the Employees' State Insurance (ESI) scheme and the provident fund (PF) from our salaries. If it does so, it's unfair," said one of the contract workers, who didn't want to be named. After receiving the salary for the month of May, more than 2,000 contract sanitary workers had taken out nearly a week-long protest in the first week of June, seeking the revised wage. Commenting on the salary mentioned in the payslip, Tamil Nadu Selvam, general secretary, Tamil Nadu Annal Ambedkar Scavengers General Employees Union, said the city corporation was deceiving the contract sanitary workers. "The payslip shows that both the employee's and employer's contributions to the insurance scheme and PF were deducted from the workers' salaries, which is against the law. Say, if the monthly salary is Rs20,400, one should be paid approximately Rs18,800 after the deductions for ESI and PF. Instead, they were paid just Rs16,000," he said. We are the ones who clear the city's waste, regardless of our health, family and timing. Even if a worker goes on leave for two days, the accumulated waste is still cleared by the same worker. Urban expansion alters Vizag's natural landscape
Visakhapatnam: The erstwhile combined Visakhapatnam district has undergone a dramatic transformation in its land use and land cover (LULC) over the past two decades, with rapid urbanisation and industrial expansion reshaping its landscape between 2000 and 2023. A recent analysis by researchers from Vignan's Institute of Information Technology, Visakhapatnam, using supervised classification through ArcGIS, reveals significant shifts in key land categories. In 2000, Visakhapatnam exhibited a relatively balanced LULC distribution. Agricultural land dominated, covering 37.42% of the area, followed closely by forest vegetation at 35.10%. Barren lands occupied 16.5%, while built-up areas stood at 7.98%. Water bodies and industrial areas made up smaller proportions at 1.68% and 1.29% respectively. By 2023, the urban fabric had visibly intensified. The built-up area surged to 18.7%, marking an 11.92% increase tied directly to population growth and the expanding demand for housing, commercial zones, and transport infrastructure. The study was conducted by Brahmaiah Borigarla, Rajesh Adigarla, and Jyotheesh Alla from the Department of Civil Engineering at Vignan's Institute of Information Technology. The research report is titled "Land Use Land Cover Change Detection of Urban Area Using RS and GIS – A Case Study of Visakhapatnam District", published as Chapter 13 in the Proceedings of the International Conference on Engineering Materials and Sustainable Societal Development.
