We've heard about who was playing just about everyone in the "Harry Potter" reboot - including most of the Hogwarts faculty and at least one of the show's villains - but it's been a mystery who would be committing to playing the iconic trio of Hogwarts heroes: Harry, Hermione, and Ron.
We finally have the names for the young wizards. Dominic McLaughlin is playing Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton has been cast as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout takes on the role of Ron Weasley. All three are newcomers to the world of professional screen acting.
The main trio has been cast for the 'HARRY POTTER' TV series:

In an official press statement, "Harry Potter" showrunner Francesca Gardiner and executive producer Mark Mylod said, "After an extraordinary search led by casting directors Lucy Bevan and Emily Brockmann, we are delighted to announce we have found our Harry, Hermione, and Ron.
The talent of these three unique actors is wonderful to behold, and we cannot wait for the world to witness their magic together onscreen. We would like to thank all the tens of thousands of children who auditioned. It's been a real pleasure to discover the plethora of young talent out there."

According to Deadline, the three young actors' castings are the end result of over 32,000 auditions.
McLaughlin, Stanton, and Stout will be playing their respective roles for around a decade on the "Harry Potter" reboot series, just as their predecessors did in the films. The iconic characters were previously played by Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint.
The young actors join a long list of stars announced for the upcoming reboot series, including Luke Thallon as Professor Quirinus Quirrell, Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch, John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid.
Perhaps the biggest question mark that remains about the "Harry Potter" reboot series is the casting of the real Big Bad, Voldemort. He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named remains, fittingly, completely unnamed at this point. However, Cillian Murphy is rumored to be in strong contention for the role, and former Voldemort actor Ralph Fiennes has even given his support to the idea.

What Queen Elizabeth II really thought of Meghan Markle, royal's cousin reveals
Queen Elizabeth II was left upset by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in the run-up to their 2018 royal wedding, according to her cousin and closest confidante. Lady Elizabeth Anson, who died in 2020 at age 79, divulged how the late monarch felt about the Duchess of Sussex in a posthumous interview for the The Times of London with royal author Sally Bedell Smith. Ahead of their lavish nuptials at Windsor Castle, Anson — who from the get-go branded Markle as 'nothing but trouble,' detailed the dispute the couple had with Elizabeth, who died in Sept. 2022 at age 96. 6 Queen Elizabeth II was left upset by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in the run-up to their 2018 royal wedding, according to her cousin and closest confidante. Getty Images '[Prince] Harry wrote to me and said they were going another way. He said, 'I am close to my grandmother, and she is content with this,'' Anson told Bedell Smith, referring to the Sussexes' wedding planning. 'When I spoke with the queen, she said she is not at all content. Meghan could turn into nothing but trouble. She sees things in a different way.' Anson said the Queen was 'dismayed' that the Invictus Games founder, 40, had asked the Archbishop of Canterbury to perform the ceremony in St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle without first getting permission from the Dean of Windsor. 'Harry seems to think the queen can do what she wants, but she can't,' Anson said. I was shocked when the queen told me this, how she was so saddened.' According to Bedell Smith, who spoke to the royal two weeks before Harry wed the 'Suits' alum, 43, Anson said at the time that 'the jury is out on whether she likes Meghan.' 'My Jemima is very worried,' Anson said, using her loving nickname for the late queen. 'Harry is besotted and weak about women. We hope, but don't quite think she is in love. We think she engineered it all.' 6 Queen Elizabeth II and Meghan Markle watch a flypast to mark the centenary of the Royal Air Force from the balcony of Buckingham Palace on July 10, 2018. Getty Images After the pair tied the knot, Anson claimed that they gradually started distancing themselves from Prince William and Kate Middleton. 'Meghan and William and Kate are not working well,' Anson told Bedell Smith. 'That is what the queen said, particularly about the two girls. It's worrying that so many people are questioning whether Meghan is right for Harry.' 'The problem, bless his heart, is that Harry is neither bright nor strong, and she is both,' she added. All the Claims the The Queen's Cousin Made About Prince Harry
Apparently the Queen's cousin, Lady Elizabeth Anson, had a lot to say about the vibes between Her Majesty and Prince Harry before she passed away, and it's only just been revealed. Anson was friends with biographer Sally Bedell Smith, who published parts of their conversations in her Substack, Royal Extras. Per her reporting (via the Daily Mail), Anson said "It's worrying that so many people are questioning whether Meghan is right for Harry. The problem, bless his heart, is that Harry is neither bright nor strong, and she is both. Meghan is clearly brighter than Harry, but she has to be careful not to overshadow him." Um, rude! But there's more. Anson also accused Prince Harry of being "rude" to his grandmother during a ten minute meeting, and said the Queen noted that "Meghan and William and Kate were not working well" together. Per Bedell Smith's recollections of her chat with Anson (aka "Liza"): "According to Liza, the Queen was dismayed that Harry had asked the Archbishop of Canterbury to perform the wedding service in St. George's Chapel without first requesting permission from the Dean of Windsor. 'Harry seems to think the Queen can do what she wants, but she can't,' said Liza. 'On the religious side, it is the Dean of Windsor's jurisdiction.' Bedell Smith also recalls Anson saying "Harry has blown his relationship with his grandmother. She said she was really upset. I was shocked when the Queen told me this, how she was so saddened. I had no idea about the conversation, that he was rude to her for ten minutes. They had tea with her the day before yesterday. She was trying to find out about the wedding dress, and Meghan wouldn't tell her." Meghan and Harry haven't responded to these claims, but a source close to the pair said it was "just gossip." Which, true!

PlayStation Game Helldivers 2 is Coming to Xbox Next Month
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors After a successful launch on PS5 and PC last year, Sony has announced that it will be bringing Helldivers 2 to Xbox Series X|S next month. The announcement was made during a stream by developer Arrowhead Games, where it was announced that Helldivers 2 will be released on Xbox Series X|S on August 26, 2025. PlayStation Publishing, the publishing arm of Sony Interactive Entertainment, will predictably be publishing the multiplayer third-person shooter on Xbox, as it did on PS5 and PC. Sony Helldivers 2 first launched on PC and PS5 in February 2024, where it immediately became a huge success among critics and players. Despite some post-launch hiccups, with player backlash arising from a PlayStation login requirement on PC added after launch, the game went on to sell over 15 million copies and win dozens of awards, including Best Multiplayer Game at The Game Awards 2024. In the year and change since its release, it's also received a swathe of post-launch content, including expansions and regular in-game events, all of which has been well-received by the community. It's also been praised for its emergent storytelling, with actions from the community helping shape the overall story of the game. Helldivers 2 will be available in two editions on Xbox Series X|S, a standard edition costing $39.99 and a deluxe "Super Citizen Edition" coming in at $59.99, which includes an armor set, a cape, a weapon, Super Citizen status, and a Stratagem Hero Ship Game. Both are available to preorder on the Xbox store now, and preordering offers three promotional armor sets. "We know gamers have been asking for this for some time and we are so excited to bring more Helldivers into our game," Helldivers 2 game director Mikael Eriksson said in a post on Xbox Wire. "We have so much more in store for the future months and years – and the more players we have the more stories we can tell! The fight for Super Earth has only just begun." Curiously, the game is launching on the same date as one of Xbox's in-house games, Gears of War Reloaded, which is coming to Xbox, PC, and PS5. It comes after Microsoft cancelled multiple Xbox games amid aggressive layoffs that have seen 9000 staff laid off across the company, many of which were under the Microsoft Gaming and Xbox Game Studios banner. Rare's Everwild, The Initiative's Perfect Dark, and more games were shut down, with other projects expected to be announced to be ending in the coming days.
