Russian Army Takes Control of First Town in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
Moscow - (Saba):
Vladimir Rogov, a member of the Zaporozhye Oblast Council and head of the "We Are With Russia" popular movement, announced on Monday that Russian forces had expelled Kyiv's forces from the first settlement in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, the town of Dachnoye.
Sputnik quoted Rogov as saying in a statement: "Our forces have advanced along this axis, and the enemy has already been expelled from the town of Dachnoye. It is the first town in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast from which the enemy has been expelled."
The member of the Zaporozhye Oblast Council added that Russian forces are currently conducting combing operations in the area.
The town of Dachnoye is located on the border between Dnipropetrovsk Oblast and the Donetsk People's Republic. Although Dachnoye is administratively part of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, neighboring villages such as Novo-Ukrainka, Yalta, and Zaporozhye are located within the territory of the Donetsk Republic and have been liberated by Russian forces, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the Center and East Russian military formations had reached the western border of Donetsk and were continuing their advance toward Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. For his part, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the Russian military advance in Dnipropetrovsk is partly aimed at creating a buffer zone.
