I love Canadian brand Reitmans, and I recently found myself with a few hours to kill after dropping my son off at his birthday party. I browsed their new arrivals and ended up trying on more than a dozen pairs of pants.

These pull-on pants were definitely a hit! The soft linen-viscose blend feels amazingly silky against my skin, and these honestly look like a pair I recently spotted at Aritzia for more than double the price. These pants have just the right amount of stretch and are all about classic comfort. Pair them with a V-neck T-shirt, a blazer and some summer wedges, and they can easily go from day to night. If navy isn't your colour, they come in six other stunning shades.

I'm not usually a print gal, but these won me over. They're super flattering and perfect for a humid summer evening. An elastic waistband is always a favourite, and the viscose-nylon material makes them "cool and breezy" on even the hottest days, reviewers say. They also feature side seam pockets, and a matching tank is available if you prefer a set.

These stretchy, woven pants, made from soft satin fabric, are perfect for those days when you want a dressier look. The elastic waistband at the back ensures all-day comfort, while the removable drawstring sash adds a chic touch. I appreciate the non-functional welt pockets at the back, which enhance the design. Although this lighter feather grey colour is slightly outside my comfort zone, the 100 per cent polyester material is machine washable, making it easy to clean when my kids use them as a napkin. If that's still too much mess potential, they also come in classic black.
