Inter Milan beat Barcelona in an epic semifinal last season.
Indeed, one of the best Champions League knockout ties saw the Nerazzurri emerge 7-6 aggregate winners.
However, the Catalan giants were minutes away from sealing qualification for the grand final.
Francesco Acerbi thought otherwise as he sent the tie into extra-time with a last-gasp equalizer.
Yet, the incident in the build-up left Barcelona fuming.
Furthermore, Hansi Flick's men complained about Dumfries' alleged foul on Inigo Martinez.
Barcelona urged the referees to disallow the goal, but their appeals fell on the officials' deaf ears.

'Some time has passed now, but to me, it was a foul in our favor.'
Moreover, Martin confirmed he reviewed the incident multiple times.
'Yes, especially right after the match or the next day.
'I watched that action a lot because I felt something on the pitch that wasn't called, and I wanted to see if it really was what I felt.'

Then, he admitted there was nothing he could've done to stop Dumfries afterward.
'No, it's not that I thought I could've done more, because if I had to, there was really nothing else I could do.'
Furthermore, he labeled this remarkable contest as the match of his life.
'Personally, yes, it was one of my best. I also really enjoyed the game at Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.
'The match against Inter ended badly for everyone.
'Even though I was happy with my individual performance, I ended up being very upset about the final result.'
Finally, he played down talk that Barcelona were afraid of Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram.

Liverpool sign another Erling Haaland as mega deal complete

Liverpool believe they have signed someone who can be as good as Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe. It's already been a phenomenal transfer window for the Reds. The first proper window with Richard Hughes at the helm, last year he was still getting settled, but this time around he has duly delivered. LFC Kits Shop Now LFC x New Era Shop Now LFC Signed Merch Shop Now LFC x Titleist Shop Now The club's sporting director's mission this summer was to build on the success of last season. To make an even greater squad for Arne Slot than last season's Premier League Champions. In order to do that, Hughes was handed a major handicap with the departure of Trent Alexander-Arnold. Yet even with that, he's come out on top. He brought in Jeremie Frimpong and Slot has promoted Conor Bradley, giving the Reds two very reliable options in the position. On top of that to provide more creativity, Hughes has signed Florian Wirtz, and has brought in Milos Kerkez to add extra competition to Andy Robertson's left-back spot. Now his next mission is to bolster the attack. Slot was missing a no.9 last season. As much as Liverpool scored the most goals in the league, they didn't really have a proper forward they could use. Darwin Nunez struggled for form and often Luis Diaz had to play the makeshift forward role. Now though, Hughes has fixed this problem as well. He's brought in Hugo Ekitike. A striker who fits perfectly into Slot's vision of how he wants his no.9 to play. Ekitike is the facilitator and goalscorer that Slot has been talking about for some time. The Frenchman can score goals and he can be dangerous inside the box, but he's also a very adept link-up player who can bring his teammates into action, or make runs into the channel to draw out opposition defenders and create space for others. Liverpool's scouting department hold him in very high esteem too. According to David Lynch, the club's scouting team's analysts have estimated that only Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland have had a greater potential under the age of 23 as a forward in Europe in recent years. That's really high praise for Ekitike but it's true. He's got bags of potential with the qualities that he brings to this team. Ekitike can absolutely live up to the hype as well. The Reds have brought him in at the right time. Just as he's about to explode. This is a Mohamed Salah level signing. The kind of which makes Ekitike on par with Haaland, and he can absolutely be the Reds' very own version of the Norwegian and the long-awaited forward the club has been searching for. **👉 **Liverpool set to increase transfer budget by £200m 🔗

Liverpool Make New Contract Offer to €50M-Rated PSG, Real Madrid Target

Liverpool center back Ibrahima Konaté has yet to agree to a contract extension, sparking fresh speculation about a potential move to PSG or Real Madrid. According to Diario AS, Real Madrid are interested in signing Konaté this summer—but only if Liverpool lower their price. The Spanish giants are reportedly willing to offer between €20 million and €25 million, while Liverpool are holding firm at a €50 million valuation. Madrid are unlikely to meet that asking price, especially with Konaté said to be keen on the move. The club is reportedly willing to wait until 2026, when he could leave as a free agent. Foot Mercato also reported that Konaté has been offered to several top European clubs, including PSG, Real Madrid, and Barcelona—setting the stage for a possible move once his deal at Liverpool runs out. Liverpool keen on keeping PSG, Real Madrid transfer targetOn Wednesday, Foot Mercato reported that Liverpool hasn't given up and has submitted a new, improved contract extension offer. It's another step for the Reds to keep the French defender, but it will be interesting to see if this proposal meets the player's demands. Recently, journalist David Lynch, who focuses on all things Liverpool FC, shared his thoughts on the Konaté situation and where the player might be headed—whether he stays to extend his contract with Liverpool or explores opportunities with clubs like PSG or Real Madrid. 'Real Madrid are clearly interested aren't they – there is no question about that! But speaking to people close to Konate, I still get the feeling that his priority is to renew with Liverpool and there are talks there, but it is kind of stuck at the moment,' Lynch said on the Sports Mole YouTube channel. 'I don't think it has reached the point of no return and the player has definitely decided he wants to go to Real Madrid, I don't get that feeling at all. That's not to say that it won't end in that way because that possibility is 100 percent on the table, but we are still in the moment where there is hope there will be a breakthrough.'
