Blake Lively Broke Her Silence On The Justin Baldoni Lawsuit In A New Interview
Last December, Blake sued her It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni, alleging sexual harassment and a subsequent retaliatory smear campaign. Justin has since sued her, alleging defamation and extortion. They are set to go to trial next year.
In a statement following her lawsuit, Blake told the New York Times, "I hope that my legal action helps pull back the curtain on these sinister retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak up about misconduct and helps protect others who may be targeted."
Little has been said outside the star's lawyers. However, amid the release of Another Simple Favor, Blake took to Late Night With Seth Meyers and was asked about her family life. After divulging the quirks of her four young children, she added, "It's no surprise, I've had a pretty intense year. They're just my lifeline. No matter what day I am having, I have to be Disneyland every day for them. It's the best."
Affirming that she couldn't "say much" about the ongoing legal proceedings, Blake continued, "What I can say, without going too into it, is that this year has been full of the highest highs and the lowest lows of my life."
"I see so many women around afraid to speak, especially right now, afraid to share their experience. Fear is by design, it's what keeps us silent. But I also acknowledge that many people don't have the opportunity to speak, so I do feel fortunate that I've been able to," she said.
"It's the women who have had the ability to use their voice that's kept me strong and helped me in my belief and my fight for the world to be safer for women and girls. It's a pretty simple thing," Blake added.
Blake further alluded to what was happening in her speech at the 2025 Time100 Gala last month, where she said, "I have so much to say about the last two years of my life, but tonight is not the forum. What I will speak to separately is the feeling of being a woman who has a voice today.'

It took me 0:30 to complete today's NYT Mini. I'm quite happy with that time, especially given how much I struggled with the Across clues. I did get INSTA (I cover technology for a living, so it would have been embarrassing if I didn't). That refers to Instagram, for which you need an account to use Threads, Meta's Twitter-like app. TOWEL and HMMPH both seemed very nebulous to me. I didn't get CRAMP (thankfully), but it was on the tip of my tongue. PEA was no problem. Luckily, I was able to zip through the Down words with no problem at all. I've no idea how I remembered TEMPE, but I'll take it! See you tomorrow for more NYT Mini fun!
