Bafta winner ‘Mr Bates vs The Post Office' led to real change – here are six more TV shows that did the same
The most popular winner at the weekend's Bafta television awards was, without doubt, ITV's Mr Bates vs The Post Office, which won for Best Limited Drama.
The four-parter powerfully dramatised the British Post Office scandal, a miscarriage of justice in which hundreds of sub-postmasters were wrongly prosecuted, privately and publicly, for theft, false accounting or fraud due to a faulty computer system called Horizon.

Love Island feuds EXPLODE as tense game turns sour and islanders hit out at rivals
A LOVE Island feud has exploded as a tense game turned sour and Islanders hit out at their rivals. In an upcoming episode after Meet The Parents, the Islanders play the game 'couple goals' with Meg and Dejon as hosts. 4 A Love Island feud has exploded as a tense game turned sour and Islanders hit out at their rivals Credit: ITV 4 The Islanders are asked which couple is the most fake Credit: ITV It sees the pair read out questions which the Islanders will all answer in their couples as they select which couple they believe it applies to most. When the Islanders are asked the question, 'Which couple would you not want to go on a city break with?' Blu and Helena choose Harry and Shakira . Blu brazenly says: 'We went with Harry and Shakira . I think we all know the reason why - Harry might want to wife swap again.' To which Harry replies: 'You're better than that.' Read More on Love Island But that's not all, as the Islanders are then asked which couple is the most fake. Harry and Shakira choose Blu and Helena. When giving their reasons, Helena interjects, 'That's a cop out mate.' An unhappy Harry says: 'Hold on. Blu - after the conversation we had this morning and for you to say you don't want to go on a break because I'm going to wife swap, I think it is extremely fake.' Blu says: 'You've done it five times.' Most read in Love Island Things get more hostile when Toni and Cach answer, as Toni says: 'We've gone with Meg and Dejon. I feel like every time there is an argument between us you love to throw out 'I thought we were friends' - I feel like there have been many situations where you two have not been friends to me.' Love Island girls put an end to villa divide and have huge group hug Meg and Dejon choose Shakira and Harry, and Meg says: 'I feel like Shakira, you've made some very hurtful comments to me that we're not very nice and I've always been there for you.' Shakira is left less than impressed and says to Harry: 'The gloves are off now' as tensions flare, yet again, between the girls. The feud between the girls comes right after Throughout the series, the villa girls have been divided with two clear friendship groups emerging over the course of the ITV2 programme. On one side have been Shakira, Toni and Yasmin who have been fiercely loyal to one another and stood by each other in times of need whilst Meg and Helena, as well as Megan, have made up the other half of the main villa divide. The two groups have failed to see eye-to-eye until they appeared to put their difference aside in an unexpected moment on the programme. Just days after a huge row about the divide ensued during the show's explosive Grafties, the ladies decided to hug it out and put an apparent end to the bubbling feud between them. But with less than a week to go until someone is crowned Love Island champion, fans have insisted that the moment was a product-led decision amid ongoing speculation that show bosses want Meg and Helena to come across better. Fans have insinuated the move was a calculated way for Meg to appear friendlier after she was called out by her co-stars for the way she had made them feel throughout the series. Writing on X, formerly Twitter, after the scenes were aired, one viewer said: "It's the producers fault, they have protected Helena/Meg, producers have been watching online comments & need to fix it." A second added: "It's so fake they are not even touching Shakira in the hug." Someone else then posted: "Producers want Meg to win so much they made her promise to be more friendly?" Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX 4 Helena and Blu vote Harry and Shakira Credit: ITV 4 The show has been hit with fix rumours after the girls appeared to settle their ongoing divide

James Nesbitt 'honoured' to accept LIPA companionship from Paul McCartney
Actor James Nesbitt has said he was "honoured" to receive a companionship from Paul McCartney at a Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) graduation ceremony. The 60-year-old, who starred in ITV drama Cold Feet, praised the work of students at the institute, as he was honoured alongside James Bond director Sam Mendes, actor Adrian Lester and indie band The Wombats, who were formed at LIPA. Nesbitt said at the ceremony: "I'm so honoured to accept this award from LIPA. "When I visited a few months ago to speak to a group of students I was immediately struck by just what an extraordinary seat of learning this is, home to inspirational teachers and magnificent facilities out of which clearly pours creativity, innovation, passion, authenticity, collaboration and joy. "After my talk I was lucky enough to see a short scene from a new take on Oklahoma. It was honestly astonishing, breathtaking and, somehow, courageous." The Northern Ireland-born actor also starred as civil rights activist Ivan Cooper in the film Bloody Sunday (2002), and has also appeared in The Missing, Occupation and Murphy's Law. He was nominated for a Golden Globe for his lead role in Steven Moffat's Jekyll, portrayed Bofur in The Hobbit trilogy, and is a Unicef ambassador. Nesbitt was awarded an OBE in 2016 in recognition of his services to drama and to the community in Northern Ireland. Others being honoured by McCartney were director Gay Linvill, who has directed episodes o f The Big Bang Theory, and Go Live Theatre chief executive and arts accessibility campaigner Sita McIntosh. The LIPA was founded by McCartney and Mark Featherstone-Witty in 1996, on the site of the old Liverpool Institute – the former school of both McCartney and Beatles bandmate George Harrison, and the adjacent Liverpool Art College, once attended by John Lennon. This year's graduation ceremony celebrated the achievements of around 420 graduating students from more than 30 countries, including Colombia, Hong Kong and India.
