Rupert Grint announces the birth of ‘secret child' with actress Georgia Groome

News.com.au29-04-2025
Rupert Grint and his longtime partner, actress Georgia Groome, have secretly welcomed their second child together.
The Harry Potter star, who played the loveable Ron Weasley in the film franchise, shared the delightful news on social media on Monday
'Secret Child Slightly Revealed,' Grint, 36, captioned a photo of their new baby, whose face partially appears in the precious photo.
'Introducing Goldie G. Grint. A 10/10 baby (so far).'
Keeping the pregnancy under wraps is no surprise given Grint and the British actress – who have been dating since 2011 – are immensely private about their personal lives.
Fans didn't even know about their relationship until 2018 – seven years after they became an item.
'I was today years old when I found out Georgia from [teen movie] Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging has been going out with Ron Weasley since 2011?' one fan tweeted at the time.
In 2019, the couple sparked speculation they had secretly married when they were spotted wearing matching gold rings, but a rep for the actor was quick to deny the rumours.
However, their relationship was stronger than ever and in 2020 they announced their first pregnancy.
'Rupert Grint and Georgia Groome are excited to announce they are expecting a baby and would please ask for privacy at this time,' a rep said in a statement at the time.
It took six whole months before the notoriously private couple shared a photo of their little bundle of joy, with the actor low-key joining Instagram for the first time to share a first look at their daughter.
'Hey Instagram …. only 10 years late, but here I am. Grint on the Gram!' he wrote in his very first post. 'Here to introduce you all to Wednesday G. Grint. Stay safe, Rupert.'
He has since given an insight into his life as a dad, telling Glamour in 2021 that he is 'absolutely loving' his most important role to date, although he is 'still kind of coming to terms with what being a dad is'.
'It's so much fun. I feel like I've changed as a person for sure,' he revealed.
'It kind of happened overnight, lifestyle-wise. I stopped smoking straight away. I've started sleeping so much better – I used to be a horrific insomniac, now I'm sleeping.'

Hulk Hogan ‘lost feeling in lower half of his body before death aged 71'

Hulk Hogan is said to have lost feeling in the lower half of his body before his death at the age of 71. The wrestling icon, born Terry Gene Bollea, died in a Florida hospital on Thursday (24.07.25) morning, with police confirming to The U.S. Sun his cause of death was cardiac arrest. It's now been reported he had been using a cane to walk and was recovering from multiple surgeries in the final months of his life. Hulk had suffered from long-term health issues, including chronic back and neck pain from decades in the ring. In February 2023, he was seen walking with a cane, The Sun reported. And a month earlier, 55-year-old fellow wrestler Kurt Angle said the WWE veteran had lost all feeling in his legs after surgery. Speaking on The Kurt Angle Show, Kurt said: 'He had the nerves cut from his lower body. He can't feel his lower body. So (he) uses his cane to walk around.' He added: 'I thought he was using the cane because he had pain in his back. He doesn't have any pain. He has nothing at all. He can't feel anything.' Hulk's representative denied the claim at the time, telling Entertainment Tonight: 'Everything is OK with him. Hulk is someone with a lot of humour.' Hulk had been in and out of hospital in the months before his death. In June, he underwent a four-level Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion – a complex neck surgery. His wife, 45-year-old Sky Daily, told fans on Instagram at the time he was recovering from the 'intense surgery with a long and layered healing process'. She said the operation had also affected his vocal cords and required breathing and feeding tubes. Sky added: 'He's healing and we're taking it one day at a time with love, strength, and patience.' Rumours had spread on social media claiming Hogan was in a coma, which Daily denied. 'No, he's definitely not in a coma!' she said, according to PennLive. She added: 'His heart is strong, and there was never any lack of oxygen or brain damage.' Two days before Hulk's death, his longtime manager, 81-year-old Jimmy Hart, wrote on X: 'Hulk is doing great, doing phenomenal!'

Sylvester Stallone, Ric Flair and Donald Trump Jr lead tributes to late wrestling icon Hulk Hogan

Sylvester Stallone, Ric Flair and Donald Trump Jr have led tributes to late wrestling icon Hulk Hogan. Hulk, born Terry Gene Bollea, died at the age of 71 on Thursday (24.07.25) morning after suffering a cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater, Florida, with emergency services called to the scene before the wrestler was later pronounced dead at Morton Plant Hospital. News of Hogan's death has prompted tributes from across the world of entertainment and sport, with the WWE legend, whose career spanned more than four decades, remembered for his charisma both inside and outside the ring. Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone, 78, shared a photo of himself with Hogan on Instagram, taken from their time filming Rocky III in 1982. Hulk appeared in the film as wrestler Thunderlips in one of his first major screen roles. Sylvester said online: 'I had the pleasure of meeting this brilliant personality and showman when he was 26 years old. 'He was absolutely wonderful and his amazing skill made Rocky III incredibly special. My heart breaks. I think that he's gone… .' Retired wrestler Ric Flair, 75, expressed shock at the news and described his decades-long friendship with Hogan. Posting on Instagram, Pic wrote: 'I am absolutely shocked to hear about the passing of my close friend @hulkhogan! Hulk has been by my side since we started in the wrestling business. An incredible athlete, talent, friend, and father! Our friendship has meant the world to me. 'He was one of the first to visit me when I was in the hospital with a 2 percent chance of living, and he prayed by my bedside. Hulk also lent me money when Reid was sick. 'Hulkster, no one will ever compare to you! Rest in peace my friend!' Donald Trump Jr, 46, also paid tribute to Hogan, posting a selfie with the star on X with the caption: 'R.I.P to a legend.' Hogan had supported his father Donald Trump, 79, in his bid to be re-elected as US president in the final year of his life. Actress Brooke Shields, 59, also remembered Hulk with a photo of the two playfully wrestling on the set of Suddenly Susan, a sitcom that aired in the late 1990s. She said: 'Rest easy, Hulk. 'This moment and his entire guest episode on Suddenly Susan was a true highlight. Sending love to all of his loved ones today.'

Apple heiress Eve Jobs' rumoured wedding venue was only issued a licence for civil ceremonies this week

Did Eve Jobs' wedding venue make some very special arrangments for her big day? Page Six hears that Estelle Manor — the luxe hotel where Steve Jobs' daughter is expected to marry British showjumper Harry Charles this weekend — has just been issued a license to hold weddings. The Media and Communications Officer for the Oxfordshire City Council tells Page Six, 'We have just issued the license for Estelle Manor to hold legal marriage and civil partnership ceremonies today.' Sir Elton John is reportedly playing the $6.7 million wedding, and Vice President Kamala Harris, Princess Beatrice, Bill Gates' daughter Jennifer, Arctic Monkeys star Matt Helders and Bruce Springsteen's equestrian daughter Jessica are all rumored to be attending. Jobs, 27, and Charles, 26, went public with their relationship at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. 'The wedding is being planned like a military operation. The itinerary is scheduled so precisely, with guests starting to arrive all this week before the wedding celebrations begin on Thursday,' an insider told The Sun earlier this week. Jobs' siblings — Reed, 33, and Erin, 29 — are also expected to attend the ultra-posh party, though sources close to the family were unsure whether or not the bride's half-sister, Lisa Brennan-Jobs, will be present. Details regarding Jobs' wedding looks have been kept under wraps this far. However many have speculated that the blushing bride will opt for a unique couture gown for the main event.
