'I'm wearing this comfy and cool linen co-ord on repeat this summer - it's a must in the heatwave'
As Mirror's senior shopping writer, it's my job to stay on top of the never ending myriad of fashion trends that come our way. However no matter how many micro trends and 'cores' social media churns out, in my eyes you'll never beat pieces that are effortless, timeless and don't follow a trend.
So when I spotted this eternally-chic linen co-ord on Saint and Sofia's website, I knew it was something I'd get more than my fair share of wear out of. The Black Linen Boyfriend Shirt (£99) and the matching Corinne Linen Pant (£99) have already become a true staple in my wardrobe, and I've been wearing them on repeat with plenty of different outfits combinations during the recent heatwave.
The main reason I got my hands on the co-ord is the fact it's made from great quality linen. And let me tell you, I've tried plenty of linen blend pieces over the years, and this is one of the most expensive-feeling sets around. It's made from 70% viscose and 30% linen, which gives you the lightweight, breathable feel of true linen without being a total pain to iron and keep wrinkle free.
I wore both pieces together and separately during a recent trip, which involved lots of walking and 30 degree weather, and although I had the Black Linen Boyfriend Shirt on and off, draped over my shoulders and stuffed into a bag, there were hardly any creases on it at the end of the day. The same went for the Corinne Linen Pant, which withstood 22 thousand step counts, sitting down for dinner and lounging around on the bed after a long day, and they still looked good as new and ready to be worn the next day.
My other favourite thing about them is that effortless, oversized style that makes them look both chic, smart and laidback all at once. Now full disclosure, I sized up in the Corinne Linen Pant expecting them to be a little snug, but actually should have probably stuck to my usual size as they had plenty of room to spare. The same went for the Black Linen Boyfriend Shirt, which I bought in my usual size but was so oversized I could have sized down and still had the same relaxed fit.
Each item can be worn on its own, or mixed and matched with vest tops, denim shorts, bikini tops and jeans, not to mention worn with anything from flip flops to sandals and trainers to give you a whole host of different looks. The pieces are quite thick and heavy, and although they're still incredibly cool and breathable to wear, they may be a little denser than some might expect.
They also only come in neutral shades, so if you're hoping to bring some colour to your summer wardrobe, you won't find that here – although I feel like the neutrals give them that classic, timeless look that means they'll never go out of style.
If you want to bring a little more pizzazz to your holiday 'fits, Nobody's Child's Linen-blend Swing Top (£47) and the matching Linen-blend Wide Leg Shona Trousers (£65) come in neutrals like cream and khaki, but are also available in bright red, as well as pinstripe and gingham prints. You can also pick up a budget friendly set at H&M, with the Linen Blend Shirt and the matching Wide Leg Linen Blend Trousers each costing £27.99.
However this summer, you'll have to prise me out of Saint and Sofia's Black Linen Boyfriend Shirt and Corinne Linen Pants – they're my unofficial uniform of the season.

Kelsey Parker surrounds herself with family after loss of baby son in poignant snap
Podcast host Kelsey Parker has made a return to social media for the first time since announcing the devastating death of her third child as she takes a break away Kelsey Parker has surrounded herself with her family as she takes a much-needed trip away following the death of her third child. The Wanted star Tom Parker's widow sadly announced her third child was born stillborn last month. She shares her child with her partner Will Lindsay, and broke the devastating news on social media as she revealed they had a little boy named Phoenix. Since then, Kelsey has taken time away from social media and a break away from her day-to-day life. Marking her return to Instagram, Kelsey shared a family photo with Will and her two children with Tom, Aurelia, six, and Bodhi, four. They soaked up the sun in a hot location as they looked out at a stunning view together. The podcaster chose not to share where they have decided to take a break to, but said: "Exactly what we needed. Thank you @jet2 for making it so easy. X." Just last month, Kelsey shared the heartbreaking news of her son on her account. Her devastating tribute to her son included one simple heartbreaking caption: 'Phoenix Parker-Lindsay, you will forever be loved." She added a moving poem, entitled For Phoenix, Born Sleeping, Forever Loved. The poem read: 'The world grew quiet as you arrived, So loved, so longed for, yet not alive. Our precious boy, our angel light, Born with wings, took silent flight. 'We named you Phoenix, brave and bright. A soul of love, of warmth and light. Though we never heard you cry, You'll live in hearts that won't ask why. No breath you drew, no eyes to see, Still, you mean everything to me. You'll journey with us, softly near, In every sigh, in every tear.' Kelsey was flooded with support from her followers as well as celebrity pals, which she preempted with a message. In her post, she wrote: "Before I receive an influx of lovely messages and heartfelt wishes, I wanted to just say that I truly appreciate everything you are all going to say and share. "But with the news being so raw, I would really like to ensure that we as a family are given space and time to process this devastating and earth-shattering news. I love you all and thank you for your understanding and space. Love always, Kelsey, Will, and the Parker Family." Kelsey shares children Aurelia, five, and Bodhi, four, with The Wanted star Tom Parker, who tragically died from brain cancer in 2022 at the age of 33, four years after they married. She had opened up to the Mirror in January about her excitement at welcoming a third child into the family home which she now shares with tree surgeon Will, after finding love again last September. Confessing that the baby, which would have been Will's first child, was a "happy accident", Kelsey said she was gently preparing Aurelia and Bodhi for a new sibling. Will also told us: "I'm over the moon. This is something I've wanted for a long time. I couldn't be happier and I know Kelsey is going to be an amazing mum, as she already is." Prince William and Kate Middleton 'eyeing up move to bigger Royal home'
The Prince and Princess of Wales have reportedly been looking for a new home just three years after moving to Adelaide Cottage. Prince William and Kate Middleton are reportedly on the hunt for a new, grander Royal residence, despite only moving to their current spot just three years ago. The couple moved to Adelaide Cottage in 2022, and while it's a comfortable abode within the grounds of Windsor Castle, it was never expected to be their permanent base, reports the Mirror. The four-bedroom property is relatively modest by Royal standards, and it's understood that they've been discreetly exploring other options, with insiders suggesting they have a preferred choice. Adelaide Cottage pales in comparison to the family's previous full-time residence - a lavish apartment in Kensington Palace - and they're seeking a larger home for their children, George, Charlotte and Louis. It seems that the top contender is Fort Belvedere, a magnificent gothic revival mansion located in Windsor Great Park. Sources told the Mail on Sunday that William and Kate might be considering the 18th Century estate. It was the favourite home of Edward VIII before he abdicated to marry Wallis Simpson. Edward renovated the property, adding a swimming pool, tennis court, and stables. It's a vast estate with a long driveway leading to the entrance and even boasts a moat. It's believed that William and Kate had previously considered the vacant Fort Belvedere before settling on Adelaide Cottage. At that time, they reportedly felt that Adelaide Cottage was more suitable as it was closer to Queen Elizabeth, and they also wanted to provide their children with a more grounded upbringing. However, the situation has evolved and the Grade II listed property could be the solution to their current itchy feet. The Mail source said: "They feel they have outgrown Adelaide Cottage and need somewhere more substantial. This is the perfect new home for them. It has a swimming pool and tennis court, and Charlotte loves playing tennis." Previously, it was suggested that the Wales family could expand their living space through an annex building by Adelaide Cottage, thus avoiding a move. Another insider told the Express: "Nobody knows that there is quite a spacious red-brick annex building that's not being used next door to Adelaide Cottage. It's currently inhabitable and needs extensive renovation works if it were to be used. "Discussions have been ongoing for a while about using the property as part of the overall cottage grounds, but it's just about finding the right time to kick the project off." The Wales family's impending move isn't the only upheaval in the Firm at the moment. Speculation about potential peace negotiations between Prince Harry and King Charles has intensified in recent days. It comes after reports that senior advisers to both Royals were seen at a London meeting. But a Royal commentator was unconvinced that healing the family divide is possible any more. A confidant of Princess Anne had suggested that Harry should have turned to his aunt during his difficult period. But former BBC Royal correspondent Jennie Bond reckons it's now too late for the Duke of Sussex to seek counsel from the Princess Royal or rely on her to repair the fractured bond between himself and his father. Ms Bond claimed Harry had been "extremely disloyal" to the Firm, which wouldn't be looked on well by Anne. She said: "To Anne, loyalty is paramount, and I suspect she feels that Harry has been extremely disloyal to his father, his brother and the monarchy. She might well find that hard to forgive." Mum moved from US to UK but one British habit scares her every day
Jessica Wilkinson is still getting used to life in the UK two years after moving from the US. A mum who has moved with her family from the US to the UK admits there is one thing about living here that 'scares her daily' Jessica Wilkinson posts updates about her family and their travels on Instagram account @ourmicroadventures, which boasts 28,700 followers. In one recent reel, she spoke about their move to the UK and all the things they're 'still not used to'. The video starts with Jessica and her family in their new UK home, and an overlay text reads: "Things in our UK house we're still not used to two years later." The first thing she mentions is emptying the tumble dryer as she's seen pouring the water from the drawer down the sink, reports the Mirror. Jessica also is left baffled by the fact that there are no screens on windows. Many American homes have screens on their windows to keep insects out and allow for good ventilation by letting in fresh air. They are viewed as a standard feature, particularly in places where mosquitoes and other insects are rife. The mum is also still getting used to turning on the electrical outlets to use things like the kettle in her home. However, it is the last point which she admits "scares her daily" – getting the mail delivered through the front door. Most Americans receive their letters through a mailbox at the front of their house. Following up in the caption, the mum wrote: "The last one still scares me daily. "The adjustment with the move was much harder than expected. But two years later we've finally settled in and (probably thanks to double the sunny days this year) found there's so much to love about living here!" 15,000 likes.
