Former MP from Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) M. Kavitha has condemned the comments of Minister for Panchayat Raj D. Anasuya alias Seethakka against BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao and sought to know whether the Minister would have free run despite speaking anything by playing the 'adivasi' card.
Criticising the Minister for speaking against KTR's response to the BRS' protest in Mulugu on Monday, the former MP said here on Tuesday that if Ms. Seethakka was so sane why the Maoists had released a letter against her activities, why the Congress ranks had complained against her to AICC in-charge of party affairs Meenakshi Natarajan and what was her stand on the GO 49.
Ms. Kavitha reminded the Minister that it was because former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao that Mulugu had become a district and the camp office the Minister was using now was also constructed by the BRS government. She alleged that it was Ms. Seethakka who was insulting adivasis day in and day out and making her cronies manhandle/attack those making social media posts against her activities, including illegal sand mining.
Former Zilla Parishad Chairperson and former president of the BRS women's wing Tula Uma said there was a huge difference between the Minister Seethakka and Seethakka before and she was indulging in tongue lashing due to her arrogance of power.

Rail Roko For 42pc BC Quota: Kavitha's ‘trailer show' on July 17; warns of train services taking a hit

New Delhi: Telangana Jagruthi President Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Tuesday issued a stern warning to the Centre, stating that not a single train would be allowed to move if it fails to approve the bill granting 42 per cent reservations to Backward Classes (BCs). The BRS leader announced a 'Rail Roko' protest for 17 July, demanding Presidential assent for the BC reservation bill passed by the Telangana Assembly. As an interim measure, she demanded that the Revanth Reddy government in Telangana issue a Government Order (GO) to implement the enhanced reservations in accordance with provisions under Article 243(D) of the Constitution. She questioned why Rahul Gandhi, who carries a copy of the Constitution around the country, was not advising the Telangana Chief Minister to issue such a GO. Speaking at a press conference at the Constitution Club of India in New Delhi, Kavitha declared: 'We won't allow even a single train to move. Trains from Deccan to Delhi will be stopped. This is just a trailer. If the bill is not approved, we'll go for an indefinite Rail Roko. The 2.5 crore BC population in Telangana will teach the BJP a lesson.' She accused both the BJP and the Congress of betraying the BCs, adding that she would write letters to all political parties seeking support for the implementation of BC reservations. Kavitha alleged that the Congress-led government passed the BC reservation bill in the state assembly and sent it to the President merely to wash its hands of the matter. She also targeted Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, claiming that his concern for BCs began only after Congress lost power in 2014. Kavitha pointed out that even Congress-ruled states like Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh have not yet conducted caste censuses. Kavitha urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who identifies himself as an OBC, to ensure justice for BCs by taking steps for Presidential approval of the Telangana BC reservation bills. She proposed that the Telangana BC bill be included in the Ninth Schedule of the Constitution, similar to Tamil Nadu's 69 per cent reservation policy.

BRS demands 42% BC quota before local body polls

Hyderabad: As state cabinet ministers are expected to decide on local body elections, BRS leaders on Tuesday demanded that the government conduct the polls only after providing 42 per cent reservations to Backward Classes (BCs), as per the Kamareddy declaration. Addressing a press conference here alongside Leader of the Opposition in Council S Madhusudhana Chary, former MLA Srinivas Goud, and others, senior leader Talasani Srinivas Yadav stated that there were speculations of a decision on local body elections being taken at the cabinet meeting on 10 July. 'The Congress government has sent the bill to the Centre merely as a formality and washed its hands of the matter. How will legality be achieved if the government simply issues a GO?' he questioned. 'They claimed they would take an all-party delegation to Delhi. The Chief Minister is roaming around Delhi but is not paying attention to the BCs. BCs are not begging. It is not right to send someone to court and cheat,' stated Srinivas Yadav. The BRS leader asserted that elections without proper reservations were unacceptable, and the government should proceed with polls only after legally ensuring the 42 per cent reservation. 'If there is purity of mind, why were nominated posts not given to the BCs?' he asked. S Madhusudhana Chary reiterated that local body elections should be held only after implementing 42 per cent reservations. He criticised the entire Congress rule as disorganised, noting that even after 40 per cent of their term, not a single promise for the BCs had been fulfilled. He claimed the BCs were being cheated. 'Even after a hundred days since the bill was passed, there has been no word or concrete action. If 42 per cent reservations are not legally provided to the BCs, the Congress government will have to bear responsibility for the ensuing consequences.' Srinivas Goud stated that while they had created a hue and cry with dharnas even before the bill reached Delhi, they have remained silent since it was sent. Gangula Kamalakar stated: 'We advocated in the Assembly for a scientific method.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is also expected to attend the programme, where he will make a statement on the government's resolve to fight Andhra Pradesh over the water sharing disputes. The event will be attended by all ministers, Congress MPs, MLAs, and MLCs. Officials stated that the Irrigation Minister will present all details regarding the lifting of Krishna River water without seeking the approval of the Krishna River Management Board following the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. The BRS's failure to protect Telangana's interests in the utilisation of Krishna water will be highlighted in the presentation. The Minister will explain the technical issues stemming from the poor construction and management of the Sundilla, Annaram, and Medigadda barrages by the previous government. The state government has already stated that the Kaleshwaram project has plunged the state into a deep financial crisis.
