The Beatles Manage A Rare Chart Feat With More Hit Songs Than Albums

These days, like so many other legacy acts, The Beatles usually perform best on music charts around the world with albums, not singles. This is typically because the millions of people who continue to listen to the group focus on either classic full-lengths or compilations built around some of the band's most famous tunes. The Beatles do occasionally collect a hit or two, especially in the U.K., where the act's fame remains particularly impressive. This frame is a big one for the rockers on song rankings, as British listeners appear to be interested in both albums and singles at the moment.
The Beatles fill a trio of spaces on one songs tally in the U.K. this week thanks to a pair of holdovers and one returning smash. "From Me to You" reenters the Official Physical Singles chart at No. 93. It joins both "Now and Then" and "I Want to Hold Your Hand," which dip to Nos. 70 and 84, respectively.
Of the three, "Now and Then" is the biggest hit by the band — at least on the Official Physical Singles chart — though the other tracks are much older. "Now and Then," which was released in 2023 as the final track by The Beatles, has reached No. 1 in the past. Both "I Want to Hold Your Hand" and "From Me to You" have cracked the top 10, but neither has managed to rule the tally.
"Now and Then" has spent more time on the ranking than both of those tracks combined—twice over.
Somewhat surprisingly, The Beatles claim more hit songs in the U.K. this week than albums. That's not usually the case – though this isn't the first time the band has managed such a showing. Just two compilations by the group appear on the charts, and both manage to find space on a pair of tallies.
1967–1970 and 1962–1966 — two greatest-hits sets that were released at the same time decades ago — both find space on the Official Albums chart and the Official Albums Streaming ranking. Plays on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and other competitors of the band's most famous smashes are largely powering these two titles.

Tom Holland Breaks Silence On James Bond Rumours With Intriguing Comments

There's been an interesting development in the ongoing speculation about who the next actor to play James Bond will be. For the past year, it's looked like Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been the frontrunner to land the role of 007, following Daniel Craig's departure from the franchise at the end of No Time To Die. Aaron himself hasn't exactly always (or, indeed, ever) been keen to talk about the rumours, but his name has repeatedly come up in press reports about which star will be cast as Bond next. However, back in June, Variety published a piece citing 'insiders' who claimed that the team behind the iconic spy franchise is looking to cast a 'British actor under the age of 30', in the hopes of showing a new side to the character, throwing doubt on Aaron's casting for the first time (as well as that of other rumoured contenders like Henry Cavill, Regé-Jean Page and Aaron Pierre). Variety's article specifically mentioned three names, Jacob Elordi (who, of course, is Australian, but that's seemingly not an issue), Harris Dickinson (who is now probably best known for his role opposite Nicole Kidman in the erotic thriller Babygirl) and Spider-Man himself, Tom Holland. Tom has now spoken out about the rumours for the first time, and he's not exactly issued a denial. During a conversation on, of all places, Gordon Ramsay's YouTube channel, Tom was asked about the Bond rumours, to which he responded: 'Listen, there's speculation at the moment. We'll keep it to a minimum for now. We will get there one day.' 'Every young British actor [would love the opportunity],' he continued. 'It's the pinnacle of working in our industry. 'I already consider myself to be the luckiest kid alive. I could never have dreamed [of having] the career that I have.' Tom is currently shooting the latest Spider-Man movie, while Variety's article suggested fans shouldn't expect to see the next Bond film until around 2028. Oscar nominee Denis Villeneuve will helm the next instalment in the James Bond series, once he's completed work on the third Dune movie, which is about to go into production. The writer of the next 007 film was also announced last week, and it's exciting news for fans of prestige British drama. Utah couple speaks after winning 2025 Treasure Hunt

AMERICAN FORK, Utah (ABC4) — The winners of the 2025 Utah Treasure Hunt are speaking out the day after finding the treasure on the Temple Quarry Trail in Sandy. TREASURE FOUND: Married couple finds $25,000 treasure at Temple Quarry Trail in Sandy The winners of this year's treasure hunt are a married couple out of American Fork named Hunter and Corinne. In an interview with ABC4, Hunter explains how he was able to link the music references in the first hint to The Beatles, whose original name was 'The Quarrymen.' 'It was all in the first two lines of the poem that was referencing standing stairs,' Hunter said. 'And if you know anything about The Beatles' discography, the first studio album was 'Please Please Me,' and it's a picture of them standing on a staircase, all four of them.' PREVIOUS COVERAGE: $25,000 is up for grabs as 6th annual Utah Treasure Hunt begins with first hint This was not the first treasure hunt for Hunter and Corinne. Hunter first started with the 2021 Treasure Hunt, while his wife has joined him for the last few hunts. 'I feel like, year after year, there's a bit of familarity with the poem itself and how they lay it out,' Hunter said. 'This year, we knew it was going to be a music theme, and that really helped out.' PREVIOUS COVERAGE: First round of hints released as Utah Treasure Hunt for $25,000 enters second week In terms of the search, Hunter says there was only one other trail they checked south of the Temple Quarry Trail before they found the treasure. Once on the Little Cottonwood Trail, he says they hiked the trail four or five times before they found the spot of the treasure. 'The more we hiked it [the trail], the more it felt like it [the poem] lined up,' Hunter said. 'These incremental things were really lining up and giving us confidence. And by the time we hiked it three times, we were like, 'This is the trail, we just need to figure out when to get off and where to look.'' PREVIOUS COVERAGE: Music is the theme of the 2025 Utah Treasure Hunt, second hint says Hunter says he and Corinne were actually searching in different areas when he spotted the stones, which was the last line of the poem. He says he could see the top of the treasure chest when he looked behind the stones. 'I was like, 'There's no way I actually found it!'' Hunter said. 'I called David and John right away after I found it, then called my wife. It was surreal, for sure.' As for what they will do with the $25,000, Hunter says he and Corinne are moving across the country for a graduate school program, and the money will help with the move and the program. 'It's a big weight off of our shoulders,' Hunter said. Joely Richardson, sister of Natasha Richardson, gushes over Pamela Anderson, Liam Neeson

While Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson are staying mum on their alleged romance, the rumored couple seems to have gotten a stamp of approval from the family of Neeson's late wife. Joely Richardson, the sister of Natasha Richardson, who died in 2009, commented on Instagram photos that Anderson shared of herself and Neeson in celebration of the actors' new movie "The Naked Gun." Several of the playful black-and-white photos show Anderson, 58, and Neeson, 73, goofing around with a popcorn bucket, while the Aug. 1 post's final two images see the costars engage in an impromptu photoshoot with a camera. Much of the comments section was filled with congratulatory messages complimenting Anderson and Neeson's joint project, as well as their purported new couple status. "I did not have Pam and Liam on my 2025 Bingo card … and I can't even describe the happiness I feel for them ❤️👏💕," @taraphotog wrote. Richardson joined in on the warm sentiment, commenting with string of red heart emojis: "❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️." Neeson was married for 15 years to British actress Natasha Richardson, from 1994 until her death at age 45. Natasha, best known for her roles in "The Handmaid's Tale" movie, "The Parent Trap" and "Maid in Manhattan," died after a seemingly minor fall while skiing at Quebec's Mont Tremblant. The actress initially waved off medical care, but her head injury turned out to be fatal. She and Neeson shared sons Micheál and Daniel. Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson: Actors spark romance rumors with affectionate red-carpet moment Pamela Anderson, Liam Neeson spark romance rumors on 'Naked Gun' promotional tour Anderson and Neeson have been at the center of dating speculation as they promote "The Naked Gun," a slapstick detective comedy starring Neeson as LA cop Frank Drebin Jr. and Anderson as his unexpected partner in crime, the femme fatale Beth. The actors sparked romance rumors at the film's London premiere on July 22. As they posed at the red carpet's step-and-repeat, Anderson leaned up and gave Neeson a smooch on the side of his face. While taking photos with one of the film's producers, Anderson was also seen clasping Neeson's hand around her left hip. Days later, Anderson and Neeson poked fun at their flirty chemistry in a July 28 interview with "Entertainment Tonight." As Anderson leaned in for a near-kiss from Neeson, an "ET" red-carpet reporter said they were "so close," before Anderson said, "Yeah, so close." Neeson chimed in, "We're pros." 'Are you two an item?': Pamela Anderson, Liam Neeson dodge dating rumors on 'Today' show The following day, Anderson and Neeson were confronted about their affectionate dynamic during a July 29 interview on the "Today" show. Coanchor Craig Melvin bluntly asked the duo if they were dating: "You're both single right now. There's clearly chemistry on display throughout this film. Are you two an item?" While the pair balked at the question, Neeson conceded that he and Anderson "discovered we had a lovely, budding chemistry as two actors" during production on "The Naked Gun." In an Instagram post recapping the film's New York premiere July 29, Anderson's caption included a not-so-cryptic message of her own: "Love is in the air."
