Euphoria actress Sydney Sweeney looked unrecognisable after transforming into professional boxer Christy Martin for the upcoming movie, Christy. The Anyone But You star rose to fame on Euphoria as Cassie and went on to star in the likes of Madame Web, Immaculate, and The White Lotus.

Sydney went for a completely different role for Christy, where she plays the titular character. In new snaps from the movie, the star rocked a short brown wig, a mouth guard, a white vest, shorts and boxing gloves as she fought in the ring. In recent months, fans noticed how she underwent a huge body transformation for the role and gained a lot of muscle in order to accurately portray Christy.

The actress is usually known for her long blonde locks and sleek figure. Her new film is scheduled for released in September this year.
Professional boxer Christy, also known as The Coal Miner's Daughter, put women's boxing on the map after going against Deridre Gogarty at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas in 1996.
The 56-year-old was on the cover of Sports Illustrated, appeared on talk shows for interviews and even popped up for cameos in sitcoms.

However, her life at home was a lot different as she suffered through 20 years of abuse at the hands of her husband, James 'Jim' Martin, who also trained her.
In late 2010, Jim stabbed her several times before shooting her in the torso. The horrific incident is said to have unfolded after a row at their home. Thankfully, she survived the attack.

He was sentenced to 25 years in prison after he was found guilty of attempted second-degree murder and manslaughter.
Christy went on to marry former boxer Lisa Holewyne in 2017. She previously spoke o Sydney taking on the role of her in an interview with TMZ.
She said: "I think she is young, hot, talented and about to make a movie that in 20+ years, fathers will watch with their daughters to make them aware of domestic violence.

"I want this movie to bring awareness to domestic violence, the challenge of sexuality and overall underdog story. I am a coal miner's daughter from a small town in southern West Virginia that made an impact in a sport that wasn't taken seriously - women's boxing."

Cameras are rolling on Married At First Sight 2026, and the upcoming season promises to be the wildest yet. This week, a new bride, blonde bombshell Rebecca Zukowski, was busy shooting her wedding in Sydney's Centennial Park. Insiders say she's already bringing serious drama before the season even begins. The glamorous bride is a seasoned businesswoman with over two decades' experience in the hospitality, tourism and real estate industries. Rebecca has been described by friends as 'fun, loyal and loud' – a firecracker ready to ignite the experiment. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'She's wild – think Jamie [Marinos] – just with years of experience,' one source close to production dished. 'She was overheard yelling on her balcony in between takes – it was a whole moment.' According to her LinkedIn, the bride is a 'results-driven Operations Manager with 20+ years of extensive leasing management, business development and key account management experience.' She's also a force when it comes to leadership, boasting skills in 'change management, business improvement and operating large-scale tourism and residential facilities.' But it's not just her business background that's caught the attention of producers. Insiders say her bold personality, tell-it-like-it-is attitude and loyal heart have already made her a standout with the cast and crew. 'She's the type of girl who will back you 100 percent – but don't cross her, because she'll call it out without blinking,' another friend said. 'She's got this larger-than-life energy and doesn't tone herself down for anyone. We're all so excited to see her on screen.' In fact, she's already raised eyebrows during filming after a fiery outburst on set, accusing her bridesmaid of trying to upstage her on her big day. 'She's a no-nonsense kind of woman. She says what everyone else is too scared to say,' one production insider added. 'She's going to make incredible television.' So far, little is known about her groom named Steve. Daily Mail Australia can reveal the cast for season 13 has finally been locked in, despite behind-the-scenes setbacks, with production now in full swing across Sydney. According to insiders, the new season almost didn't make it to the altar on time after multiple cast dropouts and a last-minute casting scramble left producers racing to fill key roles. 'Producers were scrambling behind-the-scenes right up until filming started,' one well-placed source told Daily Mail Australia. 'There were multiple cast dropouts and several roles had to be urgently filled at the last minute.' Insiders say her bold personality, tell-it-like-it-is attitude and loyal heart have already made her a standout with the cast and crew Despite the early chaos, production is now in full swing, with all eyes on whether this season will live up to its explosive predecessors. 'It was touch and go there for a few weeks,' one well-placed source revealed. 'They had some big personalities pull out just days before filming, and others were cut late in the process due to vetting. But they've managed to secure a strong final cast - and the cameras are now rolling.' Despite the bumpy pre-production period, filming is now in full swing. Backstories, bucks' and hens' nights have already been filmed, with weddings currently underway and honeymoons expected to follow in the coming days. While the show's signature drama is usually saved for the dinner parties and commitment ceremonies, this year's brides and grooms are wasting no time. Another insider teased that filming has already produced 'some of the strongest matches we've seen in years' – along with a few early red flags. 'There are couples with instant chemistry, and others who are clearly mismatched from the start. The tension is building – and we're only in the early stages.' According to insiders, the new season almost didn't make it to the altar on time after multiple cast dropouts and a last-minute casting scramble left producers racing to fill key roles Producers are said to be particularly proud of this year's mix of personalities – which includes creatives, professionals, tradies, and even a few wildcard entries that are sure to get viewers talking. 'It's a really bold cast. There's a lot of diversity in age, culture, and life experience,' one source said. 'You've got a couple of big online personalities, a groom who's been in the headlines before, and some really grounded people just looking for love.' After a strict vetting process was introduced this year to avoid off-screen scandals, the casting team had to move quickly to replace last-minute dropouts. 'They're still walking a fine line – they want drama and standout characters, but no reputational nightmares. It's a tightrope.' With weddings being filmed across multiple locations around Australia and honeymoons about to begin, the pace is picking up - and producers are confident they've landed a winning mix. Experts John Aiken, Mel Schilling, and Alessandra Rampolla have also returned to the experiment, with sources claiming they'll take a more hands-on approach than ever before. Channel Nine is expected to premiere the new season in late January 2026.

First-year Swan learns his fate following AFL investigation into homophobic slur

Sydney defender Riak Andrew has been slapped with a five-match AFL suspension after being found guilty of using a homophobic slur while representing the Swans' reserves team. First-year player Andrew, the younger brother of Gold Coast star Mac Andrew, used the slur during the Swans' VFL clash with North Melbourne on Saturday. The AFL Integrity Unit investigated the matter after a North Melbourne player informed an umpire about it during the match. The investigation found that Andrew used a highly offensive homophobic slur towards a North Melbourne opponent. Riak Andrew has received a five-match sanction after using a highly offensive homophobic slur in the VFL against a North Melbourne opponent. 'In the course of the investigation, Andrew made full admissions and was remorseful and apologetic,' the AFL said in a statement. As part of the five-match ban, Andrew will undertake Pride in Sport education. 'I am deeply sorry for the word that I used in Saturday's game and any hurt that it has caused,' Andrew said in a statement. 'While I did not understand the full impact of the words I used at the time, I certainly do now, and have deep regret for my actions. 'This has impacted not only our club but the broader community, and for that I am truly sorry. I am committed to using this as an opportunity to learn and get better.' Andrew's slur came as Sydney prepare to hold their annual celebration of LGBTIQA+ communities, when they host Essendon at the SCG on August 2. The 20-year-old was taken with pick No.55 in last year's draft and is yet to make his AFL debut. Earlier this month, West Coast midfielder Jack Graham was found guilty of conduct unbecoming and suspended for four matches for using a homophobic slur during his side's loss to GWS. Another three AFL players were suspended for using homophobic slurs last season. 'It is important that we continue to make clear that homophobia or homophobic language has no place in our game at any level or in the wider community for that matter,' AFL general counsel Stephen Meade said in a statement on Wednesday night. 'It is disappointing to be dealing with another incident and while we will always examine the individual circumstances, the clear message is that this language is not acceptable in any workplace and that includes on the field of play'

Aussie parents come to blows in controversial 'woke' TV segment gaining attention around the world

A heated discussion kicked off on popular television show Parental Guidance on Monday when the subject of gender roles for kids' chores and playtime came up. Josh, one of the 'Life School' parents on Nine's reality panel show, sparked a heated debate after explaining why he doesn't get his five sons - between the ages of 6 and 13 - involved in household chores. 'I think we should be very careful not to feminise our males too much in society,' Josh told the group. Melbourne mum-of-four Tammy, 49, grimaced: 'I'm really anti that boys will be boys,' she said. 'It really does stereotype a type of behaviour that is not okay.' As footage of the argument took off on social media, parents from around the world have lavished praise on Sydney dad Hassan for his level-headed clapback. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'It's very important, whether you've got boys or girls at home, that you get them involved [in household chores]early, he said. 'Because your young boys are going to be men one day,' Hassan told Josh. Hassan, 36, and Amanda, 34, also have five children (three girls and two boys between the ages of one and 10), who they are raising 'the Hard Way' with an emphasis on their Lebanese heritage and cultural values, routine, mutual respect. 'I'm definitely not saying "Don't do that, that's a woman's job",' Josh backpedalled. But then he doubled down, eliciting several eye rolls and one audible gasp by saying: 'But boys aren't naturally nurturing.' Josh, 42, and his partner Cassie, 42, are full-time caravanners and have been living on the road for three years, with Josh working as a freelance auto-electrician/mechanic. 'They can be!' Hassan interjected. 'If a man has to change a nappy, or cook or clean, it doesn't make him less of a man.' Wollongong mum-of-two Sofia Dimi backed him up. 'But I think that it's okay if they want to be a little bit more feminine,' she said. 'I think stereotyping that men should just be a certain way can put a lot of pressure on men.' Parental Guidance, hosted by Ally Langdon and parenting expert Dr Justin Coulson on Nine, tackles how different parenting styles approach topics such as children's lives online, consent, peer pressure and body image. The topic of this episode was 'Mental Health' and Nine has billed it as the 'most polarising and controversial' to date. Dr Coulson sided with Hassan. 'We know that more men ascribe to unhealthy ideas about what masculinity is - such as, "I have to be tough, I have to be self sufficient, I can't seek support" - the more their mental health drops, and the more likely they are to be abusive, or be abused,' he said. Footage of the argument, shared to Nine's Instagram and TikTok accounts on Tuesday, has racked up tens of thousands of comments in the past 24 hours. Footage of the argument, shared to Nine's Instagram and TikTok accounts, has racked up tens of thousands of comments in the past 24 hours '"We shouldn't feminise men." Dude has the longest hair there,' one commented. 'I'd rather raise a soft boy than an aggressive one,' a second wrote on TikTok. 'The dad in pink knows what's up. Speak up king, say it louder for those in the back,' a third agreed. 'There is a difference between feminising males and raising respectful men who see females as their equal,' one mum pointed out, with another adding: '"Boys aren't naturally nurturing." And who set that system up?' 'That couple I feel like are really good parents. I think it's good to show that cause it breaks stereotypes,' one viewer added on Instagram. 'A man that does his share of household duties and parenting isn't a feminine man. That is a healthy masculinity,' penned another. 'A man that comes home from a day of work and sits on the couch and doesn't lift a finger at home or parent the children they brought into the world, expects their partner to clean up after them, and watches their phone or plays computer games is just another child looking for a mommy.' 'My sons are naturally very nurturing. They are so affectionate, thoughtful, and deeply caring,' added another parent.
