Bihar history-sheeter with Rs 50,000 bounty shot dead in encounter in UP's Hapur
The shootout occurred in the Simbhaoli police station area, where the team intercepted Yadav after the police received a tip-off about his movement. The police said Yadav first opened fire at them, leading to a retaliatory firing in which he was shot dead.
Yadav was a native of Sahebpur Kamal in the Begusarai district of Bihar and had been absconding for months in connection with the kidnapping and murder of local Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) leader Rakesh Kumar. The police said Yadav allegedly abducted Kumar, the party's 20-point block president, from the Sahebpur Kamal police station area by Dabloo in April and later killed him. Kumar's body was later found in a river in the Diara region.
'A reward of Rs 50,000 had been declared for his arrest. He was a key suspect in several other heinous crimes across Bihar,' the Bihar Police said in their statement to the press.
'Yadav was on the run for a long time. Acting on intelligence inputs, our team reached Uttar Pradesh and coordinated with Noida STF. During the operation in Hapur, the accused opened fire and was killed in the retaliatory firing,' the police added.

21-yr-old BSc student ends life after losing Rs 5 lakh in online ludo
Dehradun: A 21-year-old second-year BSc student allegedly ended her life by hanging herself at her home in Haldwani after losing around Rs 5 lakh in an online game of ludo, police said on Saturday. Her mother and brother had left for the market around 2pm on Friday afternoon and, on returning, found her hanging in her room. She was brought down and rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead. "The note mentioned she had initially won some money, which encouraged her to invest more. However, she eventually lost around Rs 5 lakh, which she had borrowed from her parents. Farmer dies by suicide in Nidasosi
Belagavi: A farmer died by suicide after getting upset over the property auction process in Nidasosi village of Hukkeri taluk on Friday. It is said that the farmer was distressed after a private finance company, which gave him a loan, put up a notice in the village. He reportedly took a loan of Rs 9.9 lakh from a Mumbai-based private finance company and did not repay it on time. The finance company posted a notice in the village stating that his house would be auctioned for non-repayment. Additionally, this was made public in the village through an announcement in a rickshaw. According to police, the preliminary investigation revealed that the farmer Veerabhadra, who was depressed following the announcement in the village, may have died by suicide by hanging himself. Veerabhadra, who engaged in agriculture and animal husbandry, could not repay the loan on time due to the losses he incurred. It is learnt that he also sold his land. Basavanni Madannavar, the father of the deceased farmer, expressed his anger to the media, stating that the financier is responsible for his son's death. Senior citizen duped of Rs 98,000 in online scam
Udupi: A senior citizen allegedly lost Rs 98,000 in an online scam. In a complaint, SS Nayak, 71, claimed that he had uploaded information about renting out his house on the OLX app and the 99Acres app. On July 30, at around 7.30pm, an unknown person called him, claiming to be an Army officer. He said he was transferred to the Udupi district and was looking to rent a house. The caller told the complainant that his senior officer would transfer the advance rent amount to his account. During a conference call, another person posing as an Army officer spoke and sent an online form via WhatsApp. As the complainant began filling out the form, he was asked to deposit Rs 5 into his account to verify the process. After doing so, he received a message confirming the Rs 5 credit. The fraudster then convinced him that by continuing to fill out similar online forms, he would receive Rs 48,000 and Rs 50,000 in his account. As the complainant proceeded to fill in the forms, the caller asked for his internet banking user ID and password. When the complainant refused to share the details, the call was disconnected.
