These are all the hawker stalls and restaurants in Singapore on the Michelin Bib Gourmand list for 2025

Time Out17-07-2025
The official Michelin Guide ceremony for Singapore isn't till July 24, but before the stars are announced, the Guide has first released its equally anticipated Bib Gourmand list. Each year, the Bib Gourmand category gets as much, if not arguably more attention than the Michelin stars category, as it zooms in on two things Singaporeans love the most: good eats and great value.
Similar to 2024, there are nine new entrants on the Bib Gourmand list this year, and two which are moved from the Michelin Selected category to Bib Gourmand. This bumps up the total number of Bib Gourmand eateries in Singapore to a staggering 89, from 81 last year and 79 in the previous year. That's a whole lot of eating to do.
Among the nine additions this year are Kitchenman Nasi Lemak, Lao Fu Zi Fried Kway Teow, Nam Sing Hokkien Fried Mee, Sin Heng Claypot Bak Koot Teh, Song Kee Teochew Fish Porridge, Wok Hei Hor Fun and To-Ricos Kway Chap. Thai grill bar and restaurant Jungle at Ann Siang Hill and Sri Lankan restaurant Kotuwa – some of the Time Out Singapore team's go-to haunts – also make the cut.
Longtime favourites like chicken rice chain Boon Tong Kee (the original Balestier Road branch in particular) and wanton noodle specialist Ji Ji Noodle House are the eateries that get an upgrade from Selected to Bib Gourmand this year.
Meanwhile, last year's first-time Bib Gourmand awardees Chef Kang's Noodle House, Italian restaurant Fico, Jalan Sultan Prawn Mee, Jason Penang Cuisine, and popular CBD lunch pick Han Kee (among others) also retain their Bib Gourmand status this round.
Some of our other favourites on the list include supper hotspot Eminent Frog Porridge & Seafood at Geylang, Jian Bo Tiong Bahru Shui Kueh, zi char legend Kok Sen, New Lucky Claypot Rice at Holland Village and The Coconut Club. Also try Whole Earth for healthy plant-based meals, Zai Shun Curry Fish Head tucked away in Jurong East, and Zhup Zhup in MacPherson for heady prawn broths and addictive ngoh hiang platters.

Heston Blumenthal reveals he's taking weight-loss drug Wegovy

Heston Blumenthal has revealed that he is taking the weight-loss drug Wegovy. The celebrity chef admitted his use of the drug was a 'paradox' as a restaurateur, and warned that its continued use threatened to topple the food industry. The father-of-four said he started taking Wegovy to combat the effects of his bipolar medication after he was diagnosed with Type 1 bipolar disorder in 2023. He said the medication had also caused slurred speech, problems with balance and brain fog. 'I've put on so much weight, but it's starting to come off now,' the 59-year-old said, adding that the semaglutide injections had resulted in him losing 8kg so far. Blumenthal, who has been awarded seven Michelin stars over the course of his three-decade career, also warned the drugs would have an impact on the restaurant industry. He added: 'Wegovy, Ozempic, Mounjaro – you still enjoy food, but they stop appetite. So what's going to happen is people are going to want smaller portions.' He told Times Radio it is 'going to get much worse in the next six months' for the restaurant business, adding that supermarkets would also be affected. The Fat Duck, Blumenthal's three-Michelin starred restaurant, is among the fine dining establishments hit by the decline in appetite, while costs of food, labour and fuel have all increased. He said he was aiming to 'formulate' a plan that might combat some of the losses from its highly profitable tasting menus, which can feature more than 11 courses. Blumenthal, who divides his time between Berkshire and France with his wife Melanie, has previously written in The Telegraph about his 'surprise' bipolar diagnosis. The chef, who presented Channel 4 shows Heston's Fantastical Food and Heston's Feasts, as well as several series of MasterChef in Australia, was sectioned following a manic episode in 2023. He was the subject of BBC documentary Heston: My Life With Bipolar, which was broadcast in June. Discussing food programmes following the BBC's MasterChef fallout involving the former presenters Gregg Wallace and John Torode, Blumenthal said: 'I don't think food programmes are toxic. 'I think that when you do cooking competition shows, you work with a lot of people, and humans are humans. And that means relationship issues happen.'

Olivia Attwood lands another TV job as she's set to front brand new show

Former Love Islander Olivia Attwood has bagged herself another presenting job as her TV career goes from strength to strength - this time working with a Michelin star chef on a reality show Loose Women panellist Olivia Attwood will host a brand reality TV show, which will see contestants go head to head for their dream job in a Michelin star restaurant. Olivia has bagged herself a job as the presenter of The Heat, where 10 chefs will compete to work for Jean-Christophe Novelli, as he searches for the next rising star to work at his Barcelona eatery. ‌ The show, which will air on ITV2 and ITVX in 2026, will also follow the cast outside of the kitchen, with the potential for tempers to flare and emotion to bubble over as they battle it out to win. Viewers will witness promotions, demotions, power plays, sackings and shock decisions throughout the series, according to producers. ‌ Olivia, 34, has honed her craft while presenting a number of documentaries for ITV, as well as making her debut on This Morning last week, alongside regular host Dermot O'Leary. It comes after one Mirror writer claimed 'the new Bonnie Blue documentary may be the worst thing I've ever seen on Channel 4'. ‌ Speaking about her incredible new gig, she said: 'It is such an honour to host this brand-new format for ITV2 and ITVX. Being at the helm of something this fresh and exciting is a total pinch-me moment!' Novelli, who has previously appeared as a judge on MasterChef Australia, said: 'I couldn't be more thrilled to join this new exciting show and help spotlight the next generation of culinary talent. Known for my drive and intensity in the kitchen, I'll be using my passion and unique teaching style to push these young chefs to dig deep, stay sharp, and prove they have what it takes to grow, evolve, and make their mark. ‌ 'I'll mentor them to use all five senses together and put it all on the plate, the right way. It's going to be a wild ride, and I know we'll discover some true culinary stars along the way.' Paul Mortimer, director of reality commissioning and acquisitions at ITV, said: 'The Heat is the perfect fusion of a high-stakes cooking show with real-life drama, and with the fantastic Olivia at the forefront alongside the renowned Jean-Christophe calling the shots in the kitchen, it's shaping up to be a new reality obsession for our younger viewers on ITV2 and ITVX.' Former Love Island star Olivia has forged a career as a presenter over recent years, following her appearance on the reality dating show in 2017. She partnered up with Chris Hughes, with the couple making it to the final and coming third. ‌ They continued their turbulent relationship after the show, but their frequent rows and accusations of cheating saw them split up in February 2018. They even documented their post-villa life in their own reality show, Crackin' On, but it was cut short when they split. Olivia has since married footballer Bradley Dack, and she and Chris have not spoken in years. Liv and Brad swapped vows in June 2023 in an intimate ceremony at a five-star hotel in Knightsbridge. ‌ The couple said said "I do" in front of 80 guests, including family friends, and Love Island stars including Amber Davies and Georgia Harrison. The couple moved into their plush £1million Cheshire home in October 2022, which they share with their dogs Lola and Stitch. They've also welcomed cameras into their own lives and home since 2020 in the reality docu-series Olivia Meets Her Match. The show follows the couple in their every-day lives, giving viewers a look at how their relationship is going behind the scenes.

The Heat will take place in Barcelona and involve 10 chefs working under Michelin star chef Jean-Christophe Novelli, as he tries to find the next rising star for his new restaurant in the Spanish city. The show, which will be broadcast on ITV2 and ITVX next year, is not a straightforward cooking competition, as each day the cameras will keep rolling once the cast have finished in the kitchen. Viewers can expect promotions, demotions, power plays, sackings and shock decisions throughout the series, according to producers.
