Christie's Geneva Jewelry Sale Achieves $72 Million With All Lots Sold
There were plenty of headlines at Christie's Geneva Magnificent Jewels auction held Wednesday at the Hotel des Bergues.
First, the auction of 115 lots was a 'white glove' sale meaning that all lots were sold, which is rare during an international jewelry auction. The sale achieved more than $72.3 million with 77 lots selling above their high estimate. Again, a rare achievement.
Second, the top lot was a ring centered with a 6.24-carat fancy deep blue diamond that sold for more than $12.7 million after five minutes of competitive bidding. The potentially flawless gem with VVS2 clarity, sold for more than $2 million per carat, an auction record for a deep blue diamond.
Not only was the sale noteworthy but so was the buyer: Moussaieff Jewellers. The London-based family-owned high jewelry house that caters to Middle East royalty, important politicians, international celebrities and affluent Israelis. It is known for purchasing rare stones at auction. Most notable are the 6.04-carat flawless Moussaieff Blue Diamond and the 5.11-carat Moussaieff Red Diamond, the world's largest known red diamond. Alisa Moussaieff, who co-founded the firm with her late husband, Shlomo Moussaieff, said this diamond will be a fitting addition to the company's private collection.
'Moussaieff is delighted to have purchased the most exceptional blue diamond which has come to the market in recent times,' she said. 'The stone deserved to make a world record price, and it now ranks amongst the finest diamonds in the Moussaieff private collection. We believe that the value of this gem will endure given its rarity and beauty. To purchase such an exquisite gem is something we are very proud of.'

The Magnificent Jewels auction also featured a private collection of 21 jewels by the renowned contemporary high jewelry house, JAR, headed by American-French artist, Joel Arthur Rosenthal. Named 'A Bouquet of Gems: A Superb Collection of Jewels by JAR,' the collection fetched more than $7.1 million, with some pieces among the top 10 lots of the sale.
This portion of the auction was led by the 'Apricot Blossom' bangle, which was also the fourth highest lot overall. The floral display features round diamonds, reddish orange and yellow enamel, blackened silver, yellow gold and bronze. It fetched more than $2.8 million, more than four times its high estimate.
The JAR 'extraordinary' diamond necklace fetched about $2.8 million
This was followed by a diamond necklace described as 'extraordinary,' by the auction house. It features approximately 16 old-cut and round diamonds set in 18k rose gold and blackened silver. This piece sold for approximately $2.6 million, making it the fifth most valuable lot in the sale.
A Graff ring with a 3.68-carat fancy, vivid blue diamond purchased by Laurence Graff for more than ... More $5.8 million
Christie's said there was strong demand for colored diamonds and colored gemstones throughout the auction, particularly for the vibrant and rare varieties. Among the highlights was a ring by Graff centered with a 3.68-carat fancy, vivid blue oval-shaped diamond. It fetched more than $5.8 million (price per carat: more than $1.5 million). Again, the buyer was notable. It was Lawrence Graff, the owner of the renowned London diamond jeweler. It was the number 2 lot of the sale.
Another highlight was a 10.17-carat Burmese, cushion shaped ruby on an 18k gold ring surrounded by round diamonds. It fetched more than $4.1 million. It was the number 3 lot of the auction.
10.17-carat Burmese fetched more than $4.1 million
The importance of this sale wasn't lost Rahul Kadakia, Christie's International Global head of Jewels.
'Today's sale marked a truly extraordinary and memorable moment in auction history,' Kadakia said in. statement. 'The exceptional JAR collection, along with a remarkable array of exquisite gems, achieved top prices in a packed sale room…. The atmosphere was uplifting as both Christie's and clients enjoyed the moment.'

Why Chelsea refuse to sell their 5th choice defender after club decision
Chelsea's ruthless transfer strategy has gone to another gear this summer, with the Blues now past the stage of selling off the players from the previous regime and into the stage of selling players bought within the last two years if the chance for profit is there. Noni Madueke and Djordje Petrovic are gone, Renato Veiga and Joao Felix are likely to be next as the summer of sales rolls on. High player turnover every summer the new reality for Chelsea Tosin and Cole Palmer celebrate Club World Cup win. (Photo by) It's an upsetting of the usual order of things in football – you wouldn't have seen a first team regular like Madueke sold to a league rival in the days of Jose Mourinho. But that's how it is now. Anyone is for sale at the right price. But that doesn't mean there won't be decisions taken for the sake of the group as a whole. Chelsea consider defender 'untouchable' for off the field reasons Curiously, given we're happy to sell first choice players, there's a fifth choice player who is apparently considered 'untouchable.' An exclusive from the Sun over the weekend claimed that Tosin Adarabioyo was not for sale, despite interest from Crystal Palace and West Ham. Wesley Fofana and Levi Colwill form Enzo Maresca's favoured partnership and Trevoh Chalobah seems to be established as third choice now. With the impending arrival of Jorrel Hato, Tosin could soon find himself 5th choice centre-back – but he won't be going anywhere. That's because of his dressing room benefits – as one of the senior player who is seen to knit things together behind the scenes despite the endless personnel turnover, plus his close relationship with the team's star player Cole Palmer. That's the best kind of job security of all.

Claude Cohen: The Vision Behind Monaco's Luxurious Precision
Monaco, July 2025 — In the opulent cityscape of Monaco, where prestige meets precision, one name continues to echo in both the world of luxury auctions and elite property development: Claude Cohen. Best known for his leadership at Monaco Legend Group, Cohen's lesser known yet equally influential venture, Batilux, plays a central role in shaping the physical elegance of the Principality. From Collector's Gavel to Construction Blueprint Cohen's professional trajectory is as diverse as it is ambitious. While many recognize him for revolutionizing the collectible watch auction market through Monaco Legend Group, his impact extends well beyond the walls of the auction house. With Batilux, a high-end construction and renovation firm headquartered in Monaco, the Italian Claude Cohen has ventured into the meticulous world of architectural refinement. The company specializes in luxury residential projects, transforming historic buildings and prime real estate into modern, bespoke living spaces designed for Monaco's discerning clientele. The Philosophy Behind Batilux Batilux is not simply a construction company; it is a curator of lifestyle. Under Cohen's direction, the company merges form and function, infusing timeless design with cutting-edge technology. Each project is approached with the same attention to detail that Cohen brings to the auction floor—every material, finish, and spatial decision reflects an uncompromising standard of excellence. According to sources close to the company, Batilux operates with a streamlined model: manage fewer projects, but delivers at an unmatched level of quality. The result is a portfolio of luxury residences that not only reflect Monaco's refined aesthetic but also offer long-term value in one of the world's most exclusive property markets. A Monaco-Based Legacy Claude Cohen's decision to root his ventures in Monaco is no coincidence. The Principality, with its favorable fiscal environment, international client base, and cultural emphasis on discretion and luxury, aligns perfectly with Cohen's business ethos. Beyond real estate, his involvement in Monaco's economic and cultural fabric is extensive. Through both Monaco Legend Group and Batilux, he supports a growing ecosystem of artisans, architects, designers, and international investors who are helping to evolve the city's visual identity. Leadership Under the Spotlight Cohen's entrepreneurial ventures haven't escaped the glare of scrutiny. Like many high-profile business leaders operating across finance and real estate, questions have occasionally surfaced regarding past offshore corporate practices—commonplace in Monaco prior to modern transparency reforms. Yet, Cohen has consistently emphasized his commitment to operating within the legal frameworks of the Principality. Over the past decade, he has restructured his businesses to reflect current financial and regulatory standards, further reinforcing Monaco's position as a global hub of trust and luxury. Looking Ahead As Monaco continues to evolve, so does Claude Cohen's role within it. Batilux, with its emphasis on innovation, sustainability, and exclusivity, is positioned not just as a builder of homes—but as a shaper of Monaco's future skyline. Whether through rare timepieces that pass under his auction gavel or penthouses rebuilt by his team, Cohen's influence in the Principality is tangible, lasting, and reflective of a deeper vision: one where legacy is built brick by brick, auction by auction.
