Based on Grande's latest look from the film, the Deluxe Glinda fashion doll captures her likeness to a 'T,' with her tiara, wand, and Grande's long, blonde hairstyle. The deluxe dress has Glinda in her organza-layered ballgown with shimmering detailing. The Elphaba fashion doll takes on Erivo's license, and features her signature broom, Grimmerie spell book, and her now-frayed black gown.
Joining the lineup is also a brand-new Dorothy Gale Fashion doll ($24.99) exclusive to Walmart, featuring the character's iconic blue gingham dress and braided pigtails, and her little dog Toto, too (if you're wondering why her shoes are silver and not ruby red, they were actually silver in the original novel!). Another Walmart exclusive is his Royal Ozness — the Wonderful Wizard of Oz has also been added to the collection with a doll of Jeff Goldblum's mysterious figurehead ($24.99), dressed in his removable coat and cane. Both are available to pre-order now online.
The release of these exclusive figures comes off the heels of other Wicked merch that fans can pre-order, such as new Polly Pocket-esque small doll sets, like the Oz Story Set and Students of Shiz Multipack, feature miniatures of beloved characters including the Scarecrow, Tin Man, Lion, Nessarose, Fiyero, and Boq. In the meantime, while we wait for the blockbuster musical to hit theaters on Nov. 21, you can shop the Wicked movie doll collection below.

Obama musical-comedy '44' to play off-Broadway this fall
NEW YORK — The musical-comedy romp centered on the historic election of former President Barack Obama will make its way to New York City, playing off-Broadway this fall after successful runs in Los Angeles and Chicago. The aptly titled '44' — written, composed and directed by former Obama campaign staffer Eli Bauman — is scheduled to begin a limited eight-week engagement at The Daryl Roth Theatre on Oct. 14, producers announced Friday. Tickets are now on sale with a special $44 seat promotion to celebrate the 44th president's 64th birthday. Tracing 'the rise and presidency of Barack Obama, as well as the eccentric political characters he met along the way,' the award-winning satire is described by producers as 'the story of Obama you won't read about in history books because history books are now banned in most states. But also, because '44' is the story of Obama as Joe Biden kinda sorta remembers it.' Daily News drama critic Chris Jones said the production 'tickled him purple all night long' when it played the Epiphany Center for the Arts in Chicago last year. A workshop production of '44' — subtitled 'The (un)Official, (un)Sanctioned Obama Musical' — played to packed audiences during a four-show engagement last June at Racket NYC. Actor and singer T.J. Wilkins, a season six standout from 'The Voice,' starred as Barack Obama, while R&B hitmaker Shanice portrayed Michelle Obama. As Biden, renowned voice actor Chad Doreck rounded out the cast, which also included Kevin Bailey, Larry Cedar, Marqell Edward Clayton, Kelley Dorney, and Summer Nicole Greer playing many notable figures in the Obama orbit circa 2008. Bauman, the son of Sha Na Na singer Jon 'Bowzer' Bauman, served as an early political organizer for Obama in Las Vegas and went on to coordinate Veterans Affairs for the president-elect's 2009 Inaugural Committee. __________

Amazon overhauls Wondery podcast studio, cuts 110 jobs
(Reuters) — (AMZN) is restructuring the Wondery podcast studio by shifting its award-winning narrative podcasts such as "Business Wars" to Audible and consolidating creator-led shows into a new unit, according to a memo seen by Reuters. About 110 employees will be laid off as part of the process, while many Wondery employees will transition to other parts of Amazon, the company said in an emailed statement on Monday. Wondery CEO Jen Sargent will depart the company following a transition period, the memo said. Intense competition in the expensive podcast industry as well as a growing focus on creator-led video content have prompted audio streaming companies including Spotify to diversify their podcasts as they look to lower costs and attract more users to their platforms. "As video podcasting has grown in popularity, we have learned that creator-led, video-integrated shows have different audience needs and require distinct discovery, growth and monetization strategies compared to audio-first, narrative series," Steve Boom, vice president of audio, Twitch and games at Amazon, wrote in the memo. Wondery was acquired by Amazon in 2021 and has seen podcast revenue quadruple since then as the studio expanded its slate to include video podcasts and creator-driven series, according to the memo. Under the new structure, Wondery's narrative podcast studio - home to shows such as "Dr. Death" and "American Scandal" - along with the Wondery+ subscription service, will move to Audible, the e-commerce giant's audio platform. Its creator-focused podcast team that produces shows including "Mind the Game", "New Heights", and "Armchair Expert" will join a new Creator Services group within Amazon's Talent Services division. This new team will continue to operate the creator-focused podcast studio under the Wondery brand. "By making these changes, we can better support creators in monetizing their content across multiple channels," Amazon said. Bloomberg News first reported on the Wondery overhaul.
