Baloch Leader Hyrbyair Marri: 'Balochistan Is Not The Problem... The Real Sources Of Instability In The Region Are The Iranian And Pakistani Islamic Republics'

On June 18, 2025, U.S. President Donald Trump hosted Pakistan's army chief Field Marshal Asim Munir at the White House. Renowned Baloch leader Hyrbyair Marri, head of the Free Balochistan Movement (FBM), stated on X that, during the meeting, Pakistani General Munir told President Trump that occupied Balochistan on both the Iranian and Pakistani sides would become a problem if Iran were to collapse. Yet, Marri commented that this framing is not only misleading but deeply dishonest. "Balochistan is not the problem, it is the solution and the key to regional stability. The real sources of instability in the region are the Iranian and Pakistani Islamic republics, both of which have long histories of fueling extremism and suppressing occupied nations through violence and state-sponsored terrorism,' Marri stressed.

"Americans Should Not Heed This Unscrupulous General"
"According to a June 19, 2025 Reuters report, Pakistani General Asim Munir told the U.S. President Donald Trump during their meeting in Washington that occupied Balochistan on both the Iranian and Pakistani sides would become a problem if Iran were to collapse. This framing is not only misleading but deeply dishonest. The Americans should not heed to this unscrupulous general.
"Balochistan is not the problem, it is the solution and the key to regional stability. The real sources of instability in the region are the Iranian and Pakistani Islamic republics, both of which have long histories of fueling extremism and suppressing occupied nations through violence and state-sponsored terrorism.
The people of Balochistan oppose the exploitation of their own resources, including rare earth minerals, by the Punjabi-controlled Pakistani central government. (See MEMRI Daily Brief No. 791, Pakistan's Army Chief Asim Munir Is Bin Laden In Uniform, June 18, 2025)
"Both Iran And Pakistan Have Repeatedly Engaged In Nuclear Brinkmanship"
"Iran has exported terrorism through proxies like the Houthis in Yemen, the Assad regime, Iraqi militias, and Hezbollah in Lebanon, undermining neighboring countries and threatening regional peace. Pakistan has followed a similar pattern, cultivating terrorist organizations such as Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed to conduct attacks in Kashmir in India, and using various factions to wage a bloody civil war in Afghanistan for decades. These are not isolated incidents but a well planned policy of using extremism and militancy as tools of foreign policy.
"The Americans and the West should not forget that the core of the problem is Pakistan because it exported nuclear know-how to Iran, Libya, and North Korea. Moreover, both Iran and Pakistan have repeatedly engaged in nuclear brinkmanship, Iran with its uranium proliferation and Pakistan with nuclear arsenals, have been using it for political leverage to secure cushy financial aid, international concessions, and legitimacy for their authoritarian regimes. Their strategy of exporting terrorism and threatening regional powers, including their neighbours, Israel and India. This has only entrenched their rule on the occupied nations like Baloch, Pashtuns, Kurds, Al Ahwaz Arabs, Azeri Turks, and others.

"The Baloch Struggle Is Not Rooted In Extremism
"In contrast, the Baloch struggle is not rooted in extremism but in a legitimate movement for dignity, justice, and freedom. If the world seeks true peace and tranquility in the Middle East and South Asia, it must stop viewing Balochistan through the lens of Pakistani or Iranian propaganda. The time has come to recognise, who the real threats are and who are the potential partners for peace and stability. Independent Balochistan is the need of the hour.

Iranian Security Forces Fire On Women In Balochistan, Killing One, Injuring 11

On July 1, 2025, Iranian security forces opened fire on innocent and unarmed Baloch women in Gunich village in Karvandar Rural District in the Central District of Khash County in Balochistan. The unprovoked attack killed one Baloch woman, Khan Bibi Bamri, 40, a resident of Khash, and injured 11 others. Local Baloch sources say that the other 11 injured Baloch women were: Madina Bamri, 24; Saba Bamri, 17; Esra Bamri, 18; Rahm Bibi Bamri, 32; Sanj Malek Bamri, 45; Asal Bamri, 20; Mohaddesa Bamri, 16; Mahtab Bamri, 50; Fatima Bamri, 26; Lali Bamri, 40; and Rayhane Bamri, a 21-year-old pregnant woman who miscarried after being beaten by officers and hit by a shotgun. The Iranian occupying forces killed one Baloch woman and injured 11 others. (Source: CIA) Protests By Baloch Women Baloch women responded to the attack by Iranian forces by blocking roads with burning tires in protest. The Iranian forces, which suffered a military defeat under Israeli and U.S. airstrikes, retaliated after the ceasefire by massacring Baloch civilians. This attack is a clear example of the brutality of the Iranian forces, who have been weakened by aggression from powerful countries and whose crimes against Baloch civilians momentarily pause during such external conflicts. The Iranian occupying forces – including the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Quds Force (IRGC-QF) and other intelligence agencies – have made life unbearable for the Baloch people for several decades. In the coastal regions of Balochistan, Iranian forces have been carrying out large-scale, undeclared operations. On the orders of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, the IRGC is harassing Baloch communities in Chabahar, Zahedan, Khash, and other coastal areas. Homes that have stood for centuries are being demolished to pave the way for a strategic plan that includes relocating the capital of Iran from Tehran to Chabahar. The attack in Khash is yet another example of the collective punishment being inflicted by the Iranian occupying regime on the Baloch nation – a campaign that has intensified following the Iran-Israel war. In the wake of a ceasefire between Iran and Israel, Ayatollah Khamenei's regime has launched a brutal crackdown against the Kurds and Baloch in Iranian-occupied Balochistan. Baloch civilians are being abducted from their homes, killed in staged encounters, and detained without trial, in blatant violation of international law. The Baloch May Extend Protests To A Nationwide Movement By Aligning With Kurds, Ahwazi Arabs, And Other Non-Persian Ethnic Groups The July 1 killing of a Baloch woman and injury of 11 others has sparked a wave of outrage across Iranian-occupied Balochistan, with the Baloch nation rising in widespread protest. Reports of shutter-down strikes and road blockades are pouring in from various areas. The secular Baloch uprising against the Iranian occupying forces signals the emergence of a new revolution. If Iranian oppression continues unchecked, the Baloch may expand their resistance into a nationwide movement by aligning with the Kurds, Ahwazi Arabs, and other non-Persian ethnic groups – a movement that could ultimately lead to the fall of the Iranian regime and contribute to lasting peace and stability within the region.

Iran reimposes airspace ban

Shafaq News – Tehran Iran reinstated, on Wednesday, a ban on international transit flights through its central and western airspace, reversing a brief reopening announced just one day earlier. The Ministry of Roads and Urban Development said the Civil Aviation Organization's Coordination Committee ordered the closure following new security assessments. Flights to and from Iran's northern, southern, and western regions — including Tehran and Tabriz — will remain grounded until Thursday at 2:00 p.m. local time (GMT+3:30), with only routes over eastern Iran remaining open. On June 13, Israel struck Iranian territory, prompting Iranian missile attacks on Tel Aviv. Nine days later, the United States hit Iranian nuclear sites, triggering an Iranian counterstrike on Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar. A US-brokered ceasefire paused the escalation on June 24 after 12 days of cross-border attacks.

Iraqi President urges Global Coalition to protect skies

Shafaq News – Baghdad/Madrid On Wednesday, Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid condemned recent Israeli and Iranian violations of Iraq's airspace and urged the US Global Coalition to safeguard Iraqi skies. 'Coalition forces should have intervened," Rashid told El Mundo, emphasizing that Iraq had requested air defense systems but lacked them due to "decades of dictatorship". Iraq's airspace has increasingly become a corridor for regional strikes, particularly during the 12-day war between Israel and Iran. While the Coalition's mandate is counterterrorism, Iraqi leaders argued it should also help safeguard national sovereignty during regional escalations. On domestic security, the president affirmed that weapons must be restricted to official forces, reiterating the government's stance on consolidating arms under state control, and warned that ISIS remains a regional threat. 'Their threat has declined, but the atrocities against Yazidis remain unforgettable," he said, referencing the 2014 genocide in Sinjar. Baghdad–Erbil talks are also ongoing to resolve issues related to revenue and administration, according to the President, who stressed the importance of passing a national oil and gas law to address these disputes. Ahead of November's legislative elections, Rashid encouraged participation from all political groups, including those planning to abstain. 'Democratic systems allow for boycotts, but collaboration is essential to address corruption and national challenges."
