3 people hospitalized after shooting at The Banks, police say
Cunningham said that the shooting occurred around 1:30 a.m. in the Smale Park area near the Washington steps.
It was initially reported that the incident began as a fight that led to shots being fired.

The victims were a 17-year-old girl, a 19-year-old man and another male of unknown age.
Cunningham said that all three victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Police have not stated if they have arrested anyone at this time.
The shooting is still under investigation.
During a June 24 news conference, Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval, Police Chief Teresa Theetge and other city leaders acknowledged the unease over crime among Cincinnati residents, particularly in neighborhoods in the urban core. The recent killing of Over-the-Rhine gym owner Patrick Heringer and a spate of shootings have left citizens on edge.
The latest crime data provided by the city shows an uptick in crime of nearly all types citywide when compared with data from this time last year, particularly in Over-the-Rhine and Downtown.
To help combat the spike, Theetge told The Enquirer that a new "roving task force" of 30 officers, equipped with the department's newest crime-fighting tools including remotely-piloted drones, will be focused on preventing crimes before they occur, rather than solely reactive.

41-year-old New Bedford man killed in New Bedford-Fairhaven Bridge crash
NEW BEDFORD – A 41-year-old New Bedford man was killed in a two-car motor-vehicle crash on New Bedford-Fairhaven Bridge. At approximately 11 a.m. July 2, New Bedford Police and EMS received a 911 call regarding a serious motor vehicle crash on the bridge, according to the Bristol County District Attorney's Office. Upon arrival, police located a 2015 Chevy Silverado which was occupied by a 26-year-old man who was transported by EMS for minor injuries. The Silverado had a moderate amount of damage to the front end and came to a rest in the right lane of travel facing eastbound. The second vehicle involved was determined to be a 2001 Mazda Miata which was observed to have catastrophic damage to the front of end of the vehicle. The Miata was located on the eastbound side of the highway facing west as it lost control while crossing the bridge and struck the Silverado. The Miata's driver was identified as 41-year-old Gregory Crook McGuire of New Bedford. Crook McGuire was transported to St. Luke's Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. The crash closed the bridge for several hours. Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney's Office also responded to the scene. This matter is under investigation although charges are not anticipated at this time. 911 call released related to fight between APD officer and employee at Midtown bar
The Brief Atlanta police have shared the 911 call that led to a Midtown bar employee's arrest and one of their officers placed on administrative leave. Investigators said Officer Garrett Rolfe, who was off duty at the time, got into an argument with Raefeael Penrice that escalated into a physical dispute. In the call, Penrice said that Rolfe and another man had been asked to leave the bar but refused to go. ATLANTA - Atlanta police have released a new 911 call that sheds light on a fight earlier this week between an off-duty officer and an employee at a Midtown LGBTQ+ bar. Officer Garrett Rolfe, who was once charged in the deadly shooting of Rayshard Brooks, is on administrative leave while authorities investigate the fight. X Midtown's owner said Rolfe was in the bar as a customer when the incident started. Investigators said Rolfe, who was off duty at the time, and another man, Raefeael Penrice, got into a verbal argument. The argument escalated into a physical dispute, police said. What we know In the newly released 911 footage, Penrice said that Rolfe and another man had been asked to leave the bar but refused to go. "I have a guy here claiming to be APD, and he keeps following me," Penrice says. "I'm in the back doing my job, like taking out the trash, and the guy followed me to the back of the alley and he has a phone on me - asking me all kinds of questions and stuff like that." When asked by the 911 responder if the man was wearing a uniform, Penrice said that he wasn't and "he and his buddy have been drinking." Penrice said that one of the men "brandished something" and that he was worried that they had a weapon. At the end of the call, you can hear one of the men confront Penrice, saying that he was "not allowed to put your hands of somebody." The other man then says that he never asked them to leave the bar. What they're saying On Tuesday, Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens said he's spoken with APD's chief about the incident. "The Mayor has spoken to the Chief about this matter and expressed his concerns. Anytime any employee—especially a police officer—is involved in any incident, he is concerned and expects a full and thorough impartial investigation. That is what is underway now. Officer Rolfe has been relieved of duty pending an investigation," the Mayor's Office said in a statement to FOX 5. What's next Officers arrested and charged Penrice with simple battery and battery. He was taken to the Fulton County Jail. Rolfe was placed on administrative leave, beginning Sunday, pending an investigation by the Atlanta Police Department's Office of Professional Standards. So far, police have not released any bodycam footage of the incident.
