USC women's basketball lands top recruit Saniyah Hall. Why she picked Trojans

Southern California women's basketball team has landed another top recruit. Saniyah Hall, the top female high school basketball recruit in the class of 2026, according to ESPN's rankings, has committed to play for USC after receiving offers from nearly 30 schools, including UConn, UCLA, South Carolina, North Carolina and LSU. The 16-year-old made the announcement on ESPN's "NBA Today" on Friday, saying, USC "felt like home." "It's such a blessing to be in this position, but I think I truly found my home, and I'm ready to tell the world where I'm going," she said before revealing a Trojans shirt underneath her jacket. "I am headed to the University of Southern California. Go Trojans! Fight on." Hall's announcement comes on the heels of her gold medal win with Team USA at the FIBA Under-19 World Cup. She was named MVP after averaging 19.9 points and 6.4 rebounds, shooting 52.6% from the field and 39.3% on 3-pointers. She scored 25 points vs. Australia in the gold-medal game. Her 19.9 points per game may have set a USA U19 record, but Hall said she's proudest of her defense: "I had a lot of steals that game and a lot of blocks." She'll join a Trojans squad that is assembling elite talent under coach Lindsay Gottlieb. McDonald's All-American Jazzy Davidson, the third overall recruit in the 2025 class, who competed alongside Hall on the USA U19 team, also committed to play for USC. The Trojans were 31-4 last season and lost to UConn in an Elite Eight game after superstar Juju Watkins went down with an ACL injury during the second round of the 2025 NCAA Tournament. Hall said Gottlieb and her teammates led to her choice to commit to USC. On Friday, she said, "I love all my teammates. The girls there are so fun to be around definitely Lindsay (Gottlieb)... she's definitely there to support me and I've built a relationship with her. She's a great coach." The Ohio native will finish her senior season of high school basketball at SPIRE Academy in Geneva, Ohio. Last season, she played for Montverde (Florida) Academy and averaged 20.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 2.8 steals and 1.4 blocks. Hall signed an NIL deal with Jordan brand earlier this month. During her announcement, Hall said, "I don't have anything to prove. I just go out, play basketball. I let my game do the talking. Actions speak for themselves." Manchester United Are Eyeing A Move For This Serie A Winger: Decent Choice For Amorim?

In a recent post on X, journalist Sebastien Vidal claimed that Manchester United are eyeing a move for Bologna winger Dan Ndoye this summer. It is believed that the Red Devils are preparing to launch a €40m offer to land the Swiss wide player this off-season. Ndoye's Impressive Form In Serie A Ndoye had a productive campaign at the Italian club as he put in a string of impressive displays on the right side of their attack. The Swiss talent participated in 41 matches for Bologna last season, scoring nine times and earning six assists on all fronts. The Nyon-born wing wizard managed to shine at times on the right flank and did well to average 2.1 shots per 90 minutes in Serie A. He kept 34% of his attempts on target. However, Ndoye needs to improve his ball distribution in the final third after making 73.7% of his attempted passes in the Italian top tier (stats via His current contract at the Italian club will run out in the summer of 2027. Therefore, Man United would have to make a good offer if they want to lure Ndoye to Old Trafford in this transfer window. (Photo by) Is Ndoye A Decent Choice For Manchester United? Ndoye is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few driving runs with it out in the wide areas. He can strike the ball with power from long range and has got the eye to play some decisive passes on the offensive end of the field. The Swiss talent can chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals up top. However, he needs to find a way to improve his link-up play in the opponent's half. Furthermore, it remains to be seen whether the gifted wide player can make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League if the Red Devils manage to bring him on board this summer. We can expect Ndoye to add more firepower to Man United boss Ruben Amorim's midfield. He is good enough to help the Mancunian club compete for a European place in the Premier League next season. At 24, Ndoye has his best years ahead of him which makes him an excellent choice for the Red Devils to pursue in this transfer period.

Michael Carrick tells Amorim exactly how to get the best out of Kobbie Mainoo

Manchester United legend Michael Carrick has informed Ruben Amorim of two things he must do to get a tune out of Kobbie Mainoo. Mainoo still finding his feet under Amorim Mainoo has enjoyed a rapid rise at United since he made his first-team debut in January 2023, as a substitute in a Carabao Cup meeting with Charlton Athletic. He followed that up with a breakthrough 2023/24 campaign, in which he cemented his place as a regular starter in Erik ten Hag's team. That term, Mainoo made 35 appearances across all competitions. He earned himself a place in England's Euro 2024 squad and impressed as the Three Lions reached the final of the tournament. But, Mainoo has been unable to build it and endured a frustrating 2024/25. A combination of injuries and poor form when available saw him struggle to nail down a regular starting berth under Amorim. Amorim has experimented with Mainoo in the pivot, number 10 and even the false nine position of his 3-4-2-1 system, but he has yet to settle on a defined role. Carrick tells Amorim to build the team around Mainoo Carrick made an appearance on the Rio Ferdinand Presents podcast and said about the situation, 'I think for a club to have a player that has come through the academy, knows the club and feels it — that's massive.' 'To have a talent like that, as he's already shown, you've got to say: 'Right, he gets it, he knows it — let's help him, build on him, and stick with him.' I think there's definitely a place for him.' Mainoo wasn't the only midfielder Carrick spoke about. He also shared his opinion on United skipper Bruno Fernandes, who came close to leaving and joining Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Hilal earlier this summer. Carrick of course knows Fernandes very well from his time as part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's coaching staff. Carrick also had a stint as caretaker boss and worked with the Portugal international. Carrick on Fernandes Carrick told Rio Ferdinand, 'Yeah, I like Bruno. I work with him, with Ole [Gunnar Solskjar] and he's fantastic. He's got a real, he's desperate to do well. He's so keen to do well, and that's a really positive thing.' 'And then sometimes, you can overdo it sometimes as well, and it's such a fine balance. But his attitude, he plays every game, he never misses training, and he's there all the time.' 'Puts himself out there, puts himself forward, and he's been the main man, really, the talisman for some time. And when there's moments or there's something that's needed, Bruno's been the one to step up. I really enjoyed working with him when I did. He asks questions, he's demanding, but he wants to do the right thing.' Asked how he relayed instructions to Fernandes, Carrick answered, 'He took it pretty quickly. He got it, he understood what it was. It's amazing you get a feel for that with certain players. You would have had it when we were playing, some players come and grasp it and get it.' 'I understand the whole thing, because I think there's a responsibility in United that it's not just that little bit of football on the pitch. There's a whole other world out there, isn't there? There's a responsibility, really, I think, in terms of behaviour and how you act and how you do things. And that was certainly from when I came through the door, that was almost thrown upon you.' 'You had no choice, but you made a deal with it. You don't, and if you don't, then see you later. And Bruno's the type that he embraced all that straight away.' On whether Fernandes would have fit into Sir Alex Ferguson's legendary teams, Carrick responded affirmatively, indicating that the creative genius's ability and attitude would have helped him slot in.
