Man convicted of arson and known to frequent GTA wanted on Canada-wide warrant
The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (R.O.P.E.) Squad says Stephen Whitter is wanted for a breach of his statutory release.
A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for a federal offender known to frequent the Greater Toronto Area.
The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (R.O.P.E.) Squad says Stephen Whitter is wanted for a breach of his statutory release.
Police say Whitter is serving a two-year sentence for 'arson-disregard for human life.'
Whitter is described as a 52-year-old White man, standing five-foot-seven with brown hair and hazel eyes, and weighing 165 pounds.
Police say has a tattoo of an eagle on his right upper arm and a cross on his left upper arm.
He is also frequently seen wearing a dark-coloured jacket with a bright stripe across the front, and a blue Toronto Blue Jays baseball cap.

Suspect sought after woman sexually assaulted on TTC streetcar
Police say the man in the photo is wanted in a sex assault investigation. Toronto police are searching for a man accused of sexually assaulting and harassing a woman on a TTC streetcar at Union Station earlier this week. Police said they got a call for a sexual assault at the downtown transit hub just before 9 p.m. on Tuesday. A man on board streetcar #4432 approached a female passenger and allegedly sexually assaulted and harassed her. On Sunday, police released a photo of the suspect, believed to be between 35 and 45 years old, five-foot-six, with short black hair. He was last seen wearing glasses, a white shirt, beige pants and carrying a black backpack. On June 24 at about 10 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle for speeding on Highway 400 in Seguin Township. After speaking with the driver, police initiated an impaired driving investigation. As a result, a 38-year-old Parry Sound man was charged with speeding and two impaired driving offences – including operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration of more than 80. Officers located the vehicle in a parking lot and arrested a 46-year-old local man, charging him with operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding 80 milligrams. In addition to the charges, the vehicles involved was impounded by police for seven days at the owner's expense and both accused also received a 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension. Sarnia man arrested for causing a disturbance

Officers received reports of a man walking into traffic in the area of Christina Street and Wellington Street, and threatening bystanders around 6:15 p.m. Saturday. Officers found the suspect in front of city hall and attempted to speak with him. According to police, the man began yelling at the officers to ensure they were, 'aware of his personal beliefs regarding their job performance, legal knowledge, and arrest authorities.' Police say the incident was disruptive to anyone within earshot, including a nearby patio. The man allegedly raised his fists toward police and threatened violence. Officers used a Taser against the man and brought him in to custody. The 54 year old was charged with mischief, causing a disturbance, and breach of probation.
