Ensure timely redressal of grievances
Citizens from various mandals across the district submitted petitions addressing a wide range of issues.
Alongside the Acting Collector, assistant collector Sachin Rahar, district revenue officer A Malola, forest settlement officer G Ramakrishna Reddy, special deputy collectors Tippenayak, Anand, Rammohan, Mallikarjunudu, and district agriculture Officer Umamaheswaramma were present to receive petitions. A total of 612 petitions were received during the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Collector Sharma directed officials to ensure qualitative and timely resolution of grievances. He emphasised that district-level officers from relevant departments must treat each grievance seriously, interact respectfully with petitioners, and ensure effective communication and resolution. He mentioned that monitoring is being done at the CMO (Chief Minister's Office) level, and each petition should be followed up with proper endorsements.
He instructed that all applications must be carefully reviewed and resolved with speed, impartiality, and within stipulated timelines, avoiding unnecessary delays or backlogs beyond SLA (Service Level Agreement). Field-level inquiries should be conducted at the mandal level, and petitioners must be given proper receipts and timely feedback on the status of their grievances. Every complaint must be endorsed, and officials must prevent situations where complaints go unacknowledged.
The Collector further advised revenue divisional officers, municipal commissioners, tahsildars and MPDOs to focus on petitions under their jurisdiction and resolve them quickly. He also called for swift response to issues routed through the CMO, MPs, MLCs and MLAs.
In addition to PGRS, he urged for acceleration of land acquisition, revenue services and resurvey work across villages. Pending tasks under P-4 guidelines must be fully reported and addressed promptly.
District revenue officer Malola, during the meeting, highlighted the need for vigilance during the monsoon season to prevent the spread of seasonal diseases. She called on officials from departments such as Municipal Administration, RWS, Panchayat Raj, Medical & Health, Revenue, Police, Disaster Management, and Electricity to take proactive preventive measures.
Officials were instructed to prevent leakages in pipelines, ensure water purity, avoid stagnation, and maintain hygiene by using chlorine, bleaching powder and regular spraying in sensitive areas.

Delhi CM asks officials to review old vehicle ban guidelines ahead of planned Supreme Court plea
NEW DELHI: The Delhi government is preparing to challenge the ban on overage vehicles operating on city roads or being parked in public spaces. The Chief Minister's Office (CMO) has directed the transport and environment departments to conduct a detailed review of the existing guidelines and enforcement mechanisms related to such vehicles, officials said. They added that the city government is working on filing a review petition in the Supreme Court, urging it to rethink its rules on end-of-life vehicles. A government official said the law, transport and environment departments are studying the policies and legal provisions on overage vehicles. 'Once they complete the study and submit the report, the government will examine it and take further decision on filing a petition in court,' Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said. A 2018 judgment of the apex court banned diesel vehicles older than 10 years and petrol vehicles older than 15 years in Delhi. A 2014 National Green Tribunal (NGT) order also prohibits the parking of vehicles aged over 15 years in public places. Earlier this month, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta had said her government will urge the Supreme Court to allow uniform rules on overage vehicles in the capital, in line with those followed across the country. Sirsa had also written to the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) stating that the fuel ban is not feasible and cannot be implemented due to technological challenges. Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena had also highlighted practical challenges in implementing the fuel ban for overaged vehicles. In a letter to Delhi CM, he called it 'irrational' to imagine that a 10-year-old diesel vehicle has reached its end of life in Delhi while remaining roadworthy and lawful in any other city under the same law. The L-G had also urged the government to file the review petition in the apex court, apprising it of the range of initiatives taken by the city government in the recent past and the changed circumstances for a reconsideration of its order concerning end-of-life vehicles in relation to Delhi-NCR. Bengaluru: Even as the Congress high command finalised names to head 29 smaller boards and corporations, hundreds of political posts of directors and members remain in limbo, leading to fresh disappointment among the party cadre in Karnataka. Chief minister Siddaramaiah and DCM DK Shivakumar, who also heads KPCC, met AICC general secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala in Delhi Thursday to finalise the limited list. Gandhinagar: Addressing a conference of collectors and other district administration officials on Friday, chief minister Bhupendra Patel said that the state's priority is to ensure no human life is endangered due to negligence. He directed the officials to ensure that public safety is a priority of the administration. The state revenue department organised the video conference to review revenue operations as part of simplifying public-facing administration and processes. An official statement said that various pending applications on the iORA portal were reviewed for timely resolution, along with discussions on resolved farmer verification cases, cases converted from new to old tenure, and other pending revenue-related cases. The statement said that during the conference, departmental operations, pending vigilance references, MLA/MP references, and other matters were also reviewed.
