Jake Paul's opponent 'laughed out of the gym' by boxing rival ahead of fight
Paul is scheduled to make his boxing return on June 28 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, against the former WBC middleweight champion. The 'Problem Child' has not fought since he cruised to a points victory over Mike Tyson back in November.
Chavez Jr has been fairly inactive since losing the middleweight world title back in 2012. With a professional record of 54-6-1-1, the 39-year-old has fought the likes of Daniel Jacobs, Canelo Alvarez and Andy Lee. He comes into the cruiserweight dust-up off the back of a win against ex-UFC star Uriah Hall last July.
While many are expecting a tough night at the office for Paul, Porter has confidently predicted that the 28-year-old will get the victory later this month. Speaking on The Porter Way Podcast, he said. 'I got Jake Paul by KO.' The boxing icon then explained how previously seeing Chavez Jr in the gym helped him come to that conclusion.
'He doesn't have a gas tank. That means you're not working and training out of the gym. I saw the in gym stuff and you scratch your head like 'that was it for the day?' He said. 'One day he came into the gym he shadow boxed, I don't know if he made it a round on the bag, then he packed up and left … I've seen some short stuff. I don't want to disrespect but it will make you scratch your head. The other fighters were laughing like 'that was it? Why did he show up?''
With just a few weeks to go until the clash, Paul is confident that he will "embarrass" Chavez Jr. "I'm gonna shock the world once again and prove how good I am, how powerful I am," the 28-year-old said at the launch press conference. "This is his toughest fight to date, and I'm going to embarrass him and make him quit like he always does."
He added: "I don't want any excuses, and when I beat this man all the boxing media, like you guys always do, are going to discredit it. But I'm gonna expose him and I'm gonna embarrass him. He's the embarrassment of Mexico. Mexico doesn't claim him.
"He's going to get exposed on June 28, and then the boxing media will have all these excuses but I don't want them to be having these excuses. They say he's training hard, they say this is the most focused he's ever been, good. As he should be, because people don't realise how good I actually am, and when he feels those first few punches he's going to want to quit and go back to his stool."

Wrexham are currently preparing to play in the Championship for the first time in 43 years. Parkinson has also brought in two new faces to help his side compete in the second tier, with Plymouth striker Ryan Hardie and Leicester goalkeeper Danny Ward joining, and more expected to follow. While the manager is expected to be well-backed in the transfer market by Reynolds and McElhenney this summer, some pundits have already dismissed Wrexham's chances of pulling off an unprecedented fourth promotion in a row. But McClean was bullish when asked about the club's hopes of reaching the Premier League for the first time ever and warned people not to write them off. The ex-Sunderland and West Brom player said: "The rise of the club from where it was a few years ago to where it is now is great. We're on a roll at the minute, momentum is like a steam train, the buzz around the place is brilliant. "From our point of view, it's the same as every year. Tommy Fury offered big money by Jake Paul for rematch after Tyson Fury text
Paul has offered Tommy Fury $5million to try and get their rematch over the line after the 'Gypsy King' sent him a desperate text to try and make the fight YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul has offered bitter rival Tommy Fury $5million (£4m) in a bid to make the rematch official. The pair initially squared off in 2023 after years of trading barbs. Despite dropping Fury in the final round of the contest, Paul ended up losing the bout on the judges' scorecards. Both men have been in an ongoing verbal tussle over a second meeting since their first encounter, but an agreement has not been reached yet. With talks over a potential rematch heating up, Tyson Fury – Tommy Fury's older brother – has even reached out to the 'Problem Child.' Speaking with Seconds Out, the 'Gypsy King' said: "I hoped they would. I've even texted Jake Paul to say 'what's going on do you want to get it on with Tommy and make the fight happen. I just think there's a lot of egos involved in boxing. It's a lot of 'he said this, she said that, I want this, I want that'. When things like that happen, it's difficult to make fights as you've seen over the years." In response to Fury's viral interview comments, Paul's business associate Nakisa Bidarian took to X – the formerly known as Twitter – making it public knowledge that Tyson had indeed messaged Jake. The 'Problem Child' squared off against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in his first bout since beating Mike Tyson last November. From start to finished, the young American dominated proceedings and eventually won the clash on points. Just moments after the win, Paul did not hesitate to challenge a wide range of fighters, including cruiserweight champions Gilberto Ramirez and Badou Jack, as well as Fury. But it was Nakisa Bidarian, Paul's business partner, who later elaborated on this ambitious lineup. "I want tougher fighters. I want to be world champion. Zurdo looked slow as s*** tonight. That'd be easy work, too," Paul confidently proclaimed. "Badou Jack. I want everybody. Anthony Joshua, Gervonta. And Tommy, stop running. I'm hustling, getting warmed up. You've already seen my face, get used to seeing it more." Pressed about when he'll step back into the ring, he declared: "As soon as possible. I'm staying active, I'm fighting everybody." Casting light on Paul's future plans, Bidarian pinpointed a rematch with Fury - aiming to avenge his previous 2023 loss to the British star. "If it's not for the title, then it's looking at Tommy, if he's reasonable, then Anthony Joshua. He's adamant he wants to make that fight happen at the end of 2026, and we're set to pow-wow with Matchroom when we're in New York for the most epic trilogy in boxing history - Amanda Serrano vs Katie Taylor 3."

'Difficult' challenge at Man Utd appeals to former star who's ready to return
Former Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic has opened up on his coaching ambitions and the possibility of managing the Red Devils in the future Nemanja Vidic has expressed his ambition to take the helm at Manchester United someday. Signed by Sir Alex Ferguson back in December 2005 for £7million, Vidic turned out to be a bargain as he rose to prominence as one of the top defenders in the Premier League. During his trophy-laden stint in Manchester, Vidic celebrated winning 15 major honours, among them five Premier League crowns, before Louis van Gaal showed him the door following a dip in performance and injury woes. The Serbian ace hung up his boots after an 18-month spell with Inter Milan, with persistent injuries calling time on his playing days. Although Vidic has previously discussed delving into coaching, his main focus currently is his family, especially with three young kids at home. Nevertheless, Vidic admits to harbouring managerial dreams at the hallowed Old Trafford ground. "If I was to manage or coach anyone, it would have to be Manchester United," he disclosed on The Overlap. "I like things when they're difficult and to change something from difficult to good, this is something I like to do." Considering his immediate future, Vidic said: "I'm open an opportunity to be a coach, or to work in football as a Sporting Director, or even the Serbian President of the FA – that was the plan a few years ago – it didn't happen but maybe it could happen in the future." Vidic went on to open up about his ventures off the pitch and how his drive for excellence transcends into business. He said: "Obviously, what I'm doing outside [of football], business wise, creating a company which is going to be not just successful but is going to be who I am as well. "Everything I do, I like to do the best I can, and to produce the quality. In the business I'm doing now, with the apartments, that's what I'm trying to achieve as well. To create good apartments and nice buildings, which I'm going to be proud walking in, and being proud of what I've built." The ex-United star discussed the difficult side of fatherhood, especially when it comes to watching his son follow in his footsteps. He added: "It's difficult watching my son play football because he's playing centre-back and I see everything in terms of what he can do better. "I'm the type of person that when they see, they have to say – I can't keep it to myself. He's learning now to accept that but it's good. I like watching him when I see his improvement and in the last year, he has improved a lot." He also reflected on the family atmosphere at home and the subject of footballing expectations placed on his children. "In my house, we don't really talk much about football," Vidic said. "We don't talk about how many trophies I won – I'm not much in the media. People are always saying, 'Your son has pressure' – I don't think he has any pressure. He has an advantage. "Everyone knows who his dad is and the first thing they are going to do is compare and see how good he is. So, people will come to watch you, and if you are good, you are good."
