Cannot recall anything, says rape campus ‘GS'
2
Kolkata: A second-year law student, known as the "general secretary" on the law college campus, claimed she could not recollect the time of meeting the rape survivor last Wednesday evening or the conversation she had with her.
Students at the college claimed the "GS", a TMCP member, was close to key accused Monojit Mishra.
In the absence of an official students' union at the law college, Monojit apparently assigned posts to people close to him.
But the girl denied both, saying she was "not the GS" and distanced herself from Monojit and his associates.

The rape survivor, in her detailed complaint, mentioned she spent at least three hours with the "GS" last Wednesday.
She wrote she was with the "GS" when she was about to leave the campus around 4 pm, but one of the co-accused called them to the union room to "discuss the college TMCP unit". Monojit and co-accused Pramit Mukherjee and Zaib Ahmed were in the union room. Around 7.30 pm, the "GS" left, saying she would be back but did not return, the survivor stated in the complaint.
The "GS" claimed she knew the survivor as a junior but denied accompanying her to the union room on the fateful day.

"That day, I reached college around noon and left around 7 pm after playing badminton. I do not remember the time of meeting the girl that day, the conversation we had or going to the union room as a few days have passed. I did not accompany her to the union room. I can't tell how she went to the union room. I recall telling her, 'ami aschhi', by which I meant 'I was leaving' but she might have misinterpreted it as 'I would return'," the second-year girl told TOI.
Many students insisted the "GS" was part of Monojit's gang. Some indicated it was not the first time that the "GS" had taken a woman to Monojit. They alleged the "GS" and another girl student acted as conduits through whom Monojit reached out to girls he fancied. While some did not dare refuse Monojit's advances and suffered silently, others stopped going to college. "Both GS and her close friend verbally abused people and engaged in character assassination of any girl, who tried to speak out against Monojit.
These two girls never respected the dignity of a woman," a student said.
"Apart from Pramit and Zaib, there were others in Monojit's gang, including a second-year student who carried out every instruction Monojit gave—from stalking to threatening women. But he still came to protest against this rape," said a second-year student. "There were two other boys, one a batchmate, who has distanced himself, and another from 4th year."

Jane Street action fraudulent; soon we will know if other entities were involved: Ravi Hegde
Ravi Hegde , Founding Partner, RHP Partners , says Jane Street is accused of manipulating stocks and futures by exploiting the correlation between derivatives and stocks, leading to excessive trading and a reversal of their positions at favourable prices. SEBI has levied Fraudulent and Unfair Trade Practice (FUTP) regulations due to the potential inducement of common investors through these activities. What are you making of the interim order by Sebi against Jane Street? We were just anticipating that perhaps Jane Street is going to challenge that? Ravi Hegde: Yes, this is an interim order which has been based on their prima facie understanding of what the facts are and in fact trading excessively in stocks and futures is not new to Sebi. If you remember, the earlier chairman of SEBI had passed a similar order in the matter of Infosys where they had identified that there is a strong correlation between derivatives and the underlying stocks. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like She Was Beautiful, Now Its Hard To Look At Her Crowdy Fan Undo Now, strangely, in this order they say that if Jane Street makes this payment with Sebi, the trading restrictions will be vacated. Now just imagine how the index moved and they have identified only some cases during the investigation period. We do not know how the investigation will succeed as to what are the other trades, or on which other days they have traded this. Right now, there is no question of challenge because this is an ex parte order and a hearing is allowed. But trading in such high volumes is really absurd. I do not know whether Sebi will take the assistance of other regulators abroad to understand what is the correlation, because enforcement of this order now becomes a challenge. Nobody knows whether that money is still with them or whether it has been deployed in other trades. It is still a grey area at this stage. Can you explain what Jane Street has done that has pushed Sebi to try to pull the plug here? Ravi Hegde : Essentially, if you trade aggressively in either stocks or futures, per se it is not a violation. But what Sebi understood is, in patch one, people were trading excessively, taking trading positions where they were aggressively buying in Nifty where, of course, they did not find anything lucrative. Live Events You Might Also Like: Make $1 billion loss in stock futures to earn $5 billion profit in options: Sebi exposes Jane Street's Baazigar strategy On the very second day, in the second patch, they used to square it off. That makes no essential or any economic sense because they were incurring losses. Sebi then analysed the days the underlying indexes moved up they used to trade, taking the position closer to the expiry where they could leverage over this. Now, a common investor will not know what is the real reason why the indexes are shooting up. In short, they took advantage of the correlation between the derivatives and the stocks, manipulated the stocks and futures in such a manner that they were excessive traders. They reversed their whole position and the index was up. So they traded at a favourable price. That is basically what has happened. I understand that. But in terms of a law and in terms of the regulation, is it illegal? Ravi Hegde: Yes, absolutely. We have Fraudulent and Unfair Trade Practice (FUTP) regulations. In anything relating to purchase, sale, or issuance of security, if there is anything which has the capacity to induce a common investor to trade, that amounts to fraud. Therefore, regulation three and four of the FUTP regulations has been levied. Even for FPIs, the nature of the trades, the manner in which the FPIs are required to trade, have been flouted. A common investor would not know if an underlying aggressive position has already been taken. The investor thinks okay this stock is going up, let me trade. Now, this inducement is because of fraudulent activities. That is why the FUTP regulations were triggered. Interestingly, while SEBI still says that there was a caution letter issued by NSE, the period is only from January 2023 to March 2025. We do not know as to what else would come up because the investigation is still pending and SEBI in its wisdom will understand if there is any other correlation as well, whether any other entities are involved, and whether brokers are involved in synchronization of trades or reversal of trade. So, there are larger issues to be looked into. Now, they have identified only these five persons because they saw concentration of trading between these entities. Over a period of time, we will come to know whether any other entities are also associated. It is per se a fraud. The definition is very clear. 'Not a real gun': HasanAbi responds to claims he threatened another YouTuber with a gun during livestream
(Image via @hasanthehun/X) Twitch's most outspoken political streamer, HasanAbi, found himself at the center of controversy again—this time for allegedly threatening a YouTuber with a gun during a livestream. The internet blew up with reactions, but the real story? It's more complicated (and chaotic) than it sounds. Here's what went down and how Hasan responded. The Clip That Sparked It All It started with a 48-second clip from Hasan's July 1, 2025 stream, which went viral two days later on Reddit's r/LivestreamFail. In the video, Hasan reacts to a YouTuber named Apex Crypto , who had apparently accused Hasan and fellow political figure Zohran Mamdani of treason. Hasan, clearly ticked off, mocked the YouTuber while holding what looked like a weapon and saying things like, 'Let's hang Hasan and Mamdani for treason,' he says. The f**k are you going to do?! You skinny b**ch! Ugly a**!" Viewers immediately questioned whether he was pointing a real gun on stream. Viewers Call Him Out Live During his July 3 stream, someone in chat dropped a bomb: 'Why did you threaten a YouTuber with a gun?' Hasan didn't hold back. He immediately clapped back, saying that the YouTuber in question literally said he should be hanged. In Hasan's words, 'Dog, that YouTuber literally said I should be hanged, and I said, 'Good luck,' and I just showed this, and said, 'Good luck with that.'' When asked directly if it was a real gun, Hasan replied: 'Yeah, it's also not a real gun. Don't worry.' So yeah, it was a toy . Hasan made that clear. But not everyone's buying the explanation. Streamer Reactions: Divided As Always As usual, fellow creators jumped in with their takes. Asmongold, never one to sit things out, was baffled: 'That's crazy! To pull out a gun and be waving it around on stream! Is Twitch going to do anything?' Tectone, on the other hand, went full scorched earth on X (formerly Twitter): 'Hasan threatens viewers life, doxxes them and pulls a gun out. No ban. I call fat woman fat = 2 weeks.' The debate's clearly split between 'It was a joke' and 'That crossed a line.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo So… Will Twitch Respond? As of now, Twitch hasn't made any public statements or issued disciplinary action. And with Hasan being one of the platform's biggest names, many are wondering if the rules apply differently to him. Did HasanAbi actually threaten someone? He says no. Was it a real gun? Also no. But did it look sus? For sure. Whether it was edgy humor or poor judgment, the internet court is still in session, and the jury's as divided as ever. Stay tuned. With Hasan, this probably isn't the last chapter. "He's going to shoot somebody": Asmongold calls out Twitch over HasanAbi's gun threat
Image via:Instagram/hasandpiker The Twitch streamer Hasan Piker aka HasanAbi has once again been scrutinized for a controversial livestream moment. A chat comment had threatened him, and the streamer reacted by swinging what he later said was a toy gun on-camera. The incident has compounded the debate about Twitch's policies for moderation, especially for popular streamers, and has also drawn some harsh criticism from another creator, Asmongold. From Chat Message to On-Stream Confrontation The drama began during one of HasanAbi's livestreams, when a viewer purportedly wrote that Hasan and New York Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani should be 'hanged for treason.' In response, Hasan paused the stream and put up what he thought was the chatter's YouTube channel, aggressively calling them out in front of thousands of live viewers. Stoking the moment's heat, Hasan then pulled out a prop gun and aimed it at the screen, taunting the firing and boldly exclaiming, "Wait, this is the guy?... F*k are you going to do, bro? Write a petition? Let's do a crusade, he says. Let's do a fking crusade, he says. Let's hang Hasan and Mamdani for treason, he says. The fk are you going to do?... You skinny b*ch." Asmongold reacts: "Is Twitch going to do anything?" Top streamer Asmongold didn't mince words in his response to the incident. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch CFD với công nghệ và tốc độ tốt hơn IC Markets Đăng ký Undo After seeing a clip from Hasan's stream, he was incredulous at the spectacle. "That's crazy! To pull out a gun and be waving it around on stream. Wow! Wow, that's a lot! Do you think Twitch will do anything? Will Twitch do anything of Hasan going over and then talking about shooting somebody or implying that he's going to shoot somebody, is Twitch going to do anything? I really wonder, I've got a feeling... everybody know's the answer to that." Asmongold's comments struck a nerve amid Twitch's community in general about whether the platform does indeed give its top streamers special treatment. Twitch's Policy Enforcement in the Spotlight Twitch's guidelines prohibit real guns on stream, but permit toy or prop guns in some situations. Enforcement has been notoriously uneven, particularly in high-profile instances. HasanAbi has not yet received any public discipline for this. Should Hasan Be Banned? This is not even close to being Hasan's first encounter with controversy. Famous for his heated commentary and uncensored style, the ex-Young Turks host has a CV full of divisive moments and sporadic platform suspensions. Whether Twitch will act this time is yet to be seen, but the backlash, at least online, is already underway. Game On Season 1 continues with Mirabai Chanu's inspiring story. Watch Episode 2 here.
