Trump Says He's Working to End Russia-Ukraine War
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he has helped end many global conflicts, including tensions between India and Pakistan, and is currently working to stop the war between Russia and Ukraine.
Speaking during a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister (PM) Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington, Trump said, 'We are trying to fix what former President Joe Biden ruined. We are trying to stop the war between Russia and Ukraine. Putin is not happy about the losses he's suffering in the war with Ukraine.'
'Many soldiers are dying in the Russia-Ukraine war, and we want to put an end to that. We have a working plan for talks with Iran. We eliminated Iran's nuclear ambitions and will not allow Tehran to possess nuclear weapons," he continued.
In response to a question about the possibility of a second U.S. strike on Iran, Trump said,'We are closely monitoring the situation, and we will see.'

Emergency 911 Systems Go down in Pennsylvania
Rana Atef On Friday, the state of Pennsylvania is racing to address an issue with its emergency 911 systems. The issue was reported via an emergency alert as a 'statewide intermittent 911 outage.' However, Randy Padfield, the state's Emergency Management Director, said it isn't an outage. According to CBS News Philadelphia, sources said that it's a third-party company IT issue. The company is contracted with the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency. Padfield said it's too soon to identify the reasons behind the issue, expecting that it could be a software or hardware problem. "Pennsylvania is experiencing a statewide intermittent 911 outage. Individuals experiencing issues contacting 911 are asked to contact their local 911 Center on their non-Emergency lines,' the alert stated. "The system continues to have some intermittent connectivity issues at this point in time. They are still trying to troubleshoot," Padfield added. During his latest update, Padfield said it appeared that most 911 calls were going through, but he added that there were some 'intermittent issues' with the calls. "Individuals should continue to use 911, and if they would call 911 for an emergency and the call is not delivered, they should use the backup seven-digit administrative line or follow the instructions of their local 911 center or public safety answering point," said Padfield. 'We are on top of the issue and working to restore full service as quickly as possible,' Governor Josh Shapiro said in a statement on X. Engine Fuel Supply Cut off Named Key Reason for Air India Jet Crash, Says Report
Rana Atef On Saturday, media reports indicated that the key reason for the Air India crash is a cut in the fuel supply to the engines. The plane was crashed shortly before taking off, causing the killing of 260 people. According to the report by India's Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau, cited by CNN, the fuel control switches in the cockpit of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner had been flipped, starving the engines of fuel. Investigators checked the data out of the plane's 'black box' recorders. The aircraft had reached an airspeed of 180 knots when both engines' fuel cutoff switches were 'transitioned from RUN to CUTOFF position one after another with a time gap of 01 sec,' according to the report. 'In the cockpit voice recording, one of the pilots is heard asking the other why did he cutoff. The other pilot responded that he did not do so,' the report reads. PKK Fighters Burn Weapons in Historic Event
Taarek Refaat In a historic ceremony near the city of Slemani in northern Iraq, members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) symbolically laid down their arms on Friday, marking the end of over four decades of armed struggle against Turkey. This move, which comes after two months of negotiations and the party's announcement to end its insurgency, is seen by many as a step toward a political resolution between the Kurds and Turkey. Kurdish citizens in Turkey are hopeful that this shift will pave the way for a peace settlement with Ankara. Around 30 PKK fighters, including women, participated in the ceremony, which took place near the cave of Jassneh, located about 50 kilometers west of Slemani. The fighters, many of whom held leadership roles, burned their weapons as part of the symbolic act. The event is being hailed as a 'historic democratic operation' by the PKK, marking a critical transition from armed resistance to political engagement. Speaking at the ceremony, PKK leaders, including Basi Hozat and Behjat Şarçıl, addressed a crowd of around 300 attendees, including officials, media representatives, and those from various Kurdish political factions. As the fighters laid down their arms, many were visibly emotional, with some crying and others chanting "Long live Apo!" – a reference to Abdullah Öcalan, the PKK's founder and leader who has been imprisoned in Turkey since 1999. The event represents a significant shift for the PKK, which has waged an armed insurgency against Turkey since 1984, leading to the deaths of over 40,000 people. Öcalan's call for the cessation of armed resistance earlier this year has become a pivotal moment in Kurdish-Turkish relations. Turkish officials have welcomed this development, with one senior government figure describing the PKK's move as "a milestone and a welcome step."
