Former Alabama shortstop changes teams at MLB trade deadline
Jarvis was the return for Atlanta in a trade with the Detroit Tigers that sent right-handed pitcher Rafael Montero the other way.
A former 11th round pick by Detroit in the 2023 MLB draft out of Alabama, Jarvis is currently in his third professional season with the Tigers organization, appearing in 77 games with the Double-A Erie SeaWolves. So far this season, Jarvis has slashed .242/.316/.336 with two home runs, 29 RBI, and eight stolen bases.
At Alabama from 2020-23, Jarvis was a four-year starter at shortstop for the Crimson Tide who slashed a combined .262/.373/.366 across 196 career games. Jarvis also had 10 home runs, 75 RBI, and 25 stolen bases during his time at Alabama, and was also a 2023 SEC All-Defensive selection.
