McLaren announced it would be merging with EV brand Forseven on April 3

Leiters will be succeeded by Nick Collins, former CEO of Forseven, who will now lead the newly formed McLaren Group Holdings.
McLaren said Leiters' "contribution and leadership were crucial to the company's transition, including important phases like the recapitalisation and change of ownership".
Leiters said: "I am honoured to have led McLaren Automotive over the past three years.
"I am thankful having worked alongside such a dedicated and talented team.
"I'm proud of what we've achieved together and confident that the business is on a strong path for success.
"I wish all involved the very best in the future.'
Leiters steered the luxury car manufacturer through a critical financial revamp and change in ownership.
McLaren was snapped up in December by Abu Dhabi's investment group CYVN Holdings, which also owns Forseven - an all-electric car company.
The long-expected merger was made official on April 3.
During his time at McLaren, Leiters, a former Ferrari CTO who has also worked at Porsche, oversaw key launches like the hybrid Artura, the 750S supercar and the reveal of the wild W1 hypercar.
British sports car brand to release new flagship model in just weeks - and it'll follow a legendary motor from the 1990s
McLaren Automotive, which is a separate entity from their famous F1 team, was founded in 2010, with its headquarters based in Woking.
Under McLaren and Forseven's full-scale merger, all future cars will continue to wear the McLaren badge, with the Forseven one disappearing.
The supercar manufacturer was previously owned by Bahrain's Mumtalakat Holding Company.
It comes after an iconic sports car that was discontinued earlier this year "will be back without a doubt", the firm's boss has revealed.
Nissan released a heartfelt message for customers and fans of the iconic GT-R announcing its demise in February.
The GT-R R35, affectionately known as Godzilla, was first unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2007 before being updated many times, most recently in 2023.
Nissan's USA chief product planner, Ponz Pandikuthira, recently told Motor1: "Those big horsepower cars are simply not going to meet emissions standards.
"So it's a matter of where the tech catches up with us. Battery tech, motor tech, and it may take us a few years, but GT-R will be back, without a doubt."

Norris fastest in final Austrian GP practice
SPIELBERG, Austria, June 28 (Reuters) - McLaren wrapped up practice for the Austrian Grand Prix with Lando Norris leading Formula One leader Oscar Piastri in another one-two at the top of the timesheets ahead of Red Bull's Max Verstappen. Norris, second overall and 22 points behind Piastri after 10 of the season's 24 races, lapped the Red Bull Ring with a best time of one minute 04.324 seconds and 0.118 quicker than the Australian. Verstappen was 0.210 off the pace, with a big spin at the last corner at the end of the session, and was followed by Ferrari's Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton in fourth and fifth. McLaren have topped two of the three sessions, with Mercedes' George Russell fastest in the opening one on Friday but sixth on a much warmer Saturday and getting hotter. "That's why it went a little bit belly-up for us. We were quite competitive until the end and then you can see really it goes above a certain threshold of temperature and we lose performance," Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff told Sky Sports television. "The McLarens in high-speed (corners) is going to be very difficult to match. "We changed the balance a bit yesterday and that was in a direction that wasn't so perfect. It came back more today but then the track temperature developed so drastically during the session, we went from 33 degrees to 42 and that makes a big difference." Mercedes had Italian rookie Kimi Antonelli seventh, ahead of Aston Martin's Lance Stroll, Red Bull's Yuki Tsunoda and Sauber's Gabriel Bortoleto completing the top 10. Norris was also fastest in Friday's second session and is looking determined after drawing a blank in Canada two weeks ago when he collided with Piastri.

George Russell tops charts in first practice for Austrian Grand Prix
Russell took his first win of the season last time out in Canada and the Mercedes driver raised hope of a second victory in as many races by topping the time charts at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg. Russell saw off Max Verstappen by 0.065 seconds, with championship leader Oscar Piastri third. Lando Norris sat out the first running of the weekend as Ireland's Alex Dunne was handed his Formula One debut. 🏁 END OF FP1 🏁 TOP 10Russell 💪VerstappenPiastriDunneGasly BortoletoAlbonSainzHamiltonHadjar #F1 #AustrianGP — Formula 1 (@F1) June 27, 2025 Dunne, 19, finished fourth, less than a tenth shy of Piastri, with Norris due to return to his cockpit for the second session later on Friday. Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton suffered a gearbox problem before ending the one-hour running in ninth, half-a-second adrift. Russell won from pole position in Montreal to take just the fourth win of his career and move to 62 points behind championship leader Piastri. And the Englishman, whose contract with Mercedes expires at the end of the season, looks set to be among the major players again this weekend after setting the early pace. Although Verstappen finished second, his Red Bull team-mate Yuki Tsunoda ran off the track at turn three and finished only 17th of the 20 runners, seven tenths behind. Norris trails Piastri by 22 points in the standings after his collision with his McLaren team-mate in Montreal. Norris watched the opening session from the McLaren pit-wall, with Dunne becoming the first Irishman since Ralph Firman in 2003 to take part in an F1 event. 'A little boy's dream came true,' said McLaren development driver and Formula Two championship leader Dunne over the radio. 'This is the best day of my life.' Norris will be back in action when the day's concluding session gets under way at 17:00 local time (16:00 BST).

Jurgen Klopp breaks silence on Liverpool breaking transfer record to sign Wirtz
Jurgen Klopp has defended Liverpool's decision to break the British transfer record to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen. The Premier League champions completed the £100million deal earmier this month and the fee for the22-year-old Germany international could potentially become a British record. There are £16m of add-ons included, which would surpass the existing mark of £115m which Chelsea paid for Moises Caicedo in 2023. It is understood Liverpool will be happy to pay these 'aspirational bonuses' as it will mean they have enjoyed considerable success at elite level. Wirtz has signed a five-year contract and the capture of one of Europe's most highly-rated talents is seen as a significant coup for the club having initially faced competition from Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. Wake up to find news on your club in your inbox every morning with Metro's Football Newsletter. Sign up to our newsletter and then select your team in the link we'll send you so we can get football news tailored to you. Leverkusen had valued Wirtz at £126m but a compromise was reached last week, although the up-front fee easily outstrips the £85m deal Liverpool agreed with Benfica in 2022 for Darwin Nunez, who is expected to leave this summer. During his own Anfield reign, Klopp infamously and regularly, cast envious glances at the likes of City and Manchester United and cried foul over their spending power. The former Reds' boss, however, believes his old club are simply moving with the times and is delighted to see them flexing their financial muscle in the transfer market. 'We all agree that we are talking about a great player here, Klopp told Welt. 'I know that I once said that I'm out if we pay £100m for a player. But the world is changing. That's just the way the market is. 'I don't know for which position Arne has planned for Florian exactly. He is an outstanding player who can give something big to any club. 'Whether he will make the reigning English champions even better, however, remains to be seen.' Liverpool, meanwhile, continued their summer spree earlier this week with the addition of Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth. The 21-year-old is the club's third arrival this summer, following Jeremie Frimpong and Wirtz. And with Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili joining next month in a deal done 12 months ago there will be more than £200million of new talent present when pre-season training starts in a fortnight. Kerkez, who links up with fellow Hungary international Dominik Szoboszlai at Anfield, is viewed as the long-term successor to 31-year-old Andy Robertson, who is a target for Atletico Madrid. It is understood the club have no intention of forcing out the Scotland international, who started in 29 of his 33 Premier League appearances last season but is in the final year of his contract. Liverpool new boy Kerkez said: 'I'm really happy. It's a real honour for me, a privilege to come to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world, (the) biggest club in England. I'm just really, really happy and excited. 'After this, I'll go home and in my hometown enjoy a few days, and then I can't really wait to come back and put the training kit on and start to train and prepare for the season.'
