Former Olympian and current WWE Speed Champion Chad Gable (aka El Grande Americano) joins the likes of Liv Morgan with his injury, and he may be out of action for a while.

A new report from Cory Hays of BodySlam.net states Gable is 'dealing with an undisclosed injury.' So, we do not know what his aliment is, but he will be out for a while.
WWE wrote Gable's character off TV during the June 23, 2025, edition of Monday Night RAW. He had a backstage confrontation with the newly signed Penta, who injured his arm with a submission hold.
Hopefully, Gable has a speedy recovery from whatever injury he is dealing with. He is currently a fixture of the RAW roster, and WWE will miss him in his absence.

Gable's injury has not been revealed. It appears serious enough that WWE had to write his character off TV for a while. We will see when he is able to come back.

He is the reigning Speed Champion, beating Dragon Lee for it in May 2025 as El Grande Americano. It is unknown if he will have to vacate it or not.
Gable and Penta have been feuding for months. The latter Superstar debuted his January 2025 against Gable, beating him. This kickstarted their feud, and Gable eventually became El Grande Americano as a result of his losses to luchadors.
He has been a workhorse for the company, playing two characters. Gable pulled double-duty during the June 7 weekend, first wrestling as Gable against El Hijo del Vikingo at Worlds Collide before competing in the Men's Money in the Bank later that night as Americano.
Throughout his career, Gable has won the NXT Tag Team Championship and SmackDown Tag Team Championship with Jason Jordon. He also won the RAW Tag Team Championship twice — once with Bobby Roode and once with Otis.

Currently, Gable is the leader of the American Made stable. It also features the Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus) and Ivy Nile. This is the first stable Gable formed after he left Alpha Academy.
Alpha Academy was formed in 2020. Initially, it only featured Gable and Otis. Over time, they recruited new members, Maxxine Dupri and Akira Tozawa, who remain in the group with Otis.

Bill Nighy, Mathew Horne, WWE's Jordynne Grace Board Fantasy Film ‘Welcome to Paradise' (EXCLUSIVE)

British thespian Bill Nighy and 'Gavin & Stacey' star Mathew Horne have joined the cast of genre-bending fantasy feature 'Welcome to Paradise,' alongside WWE superstar Jordynne Grace making her screen debut. Richard Summers-Calvert ('Drive Me to the End') is writing and directing the indie, which is currently in post-production. The surreal fantasy film blends psychological drama, dark comedy and mythic surrealism, centering on a mysterious carnival where winning may mean survival and losing could trap visitors in an alternate reality forever. Nighy provides voice work for the project. The story follows Lisa, who awakens on a mysterious beach with no memory. After meeting a creature who tells her she's arrived at 'The Carnival,' she discovers a vibrant venue populated by humans and magical beasts. There she meets Harvey, another lost soul, as they attempt to uncover the truth about their pasts and find redemption — though everything comes with a price. 'I watched this film going in blind, and I'm now convinced Richard Summers-Calvert is both a genre-bending genius and a deeply deranged soul — in the best way,' said actor-disability advocate Adam Pearson ('The Elephant Man'). 'This film is a joy to behold.' Summers-Calvert describes the project as 'ambitious and unapologetically bold.' 'Some may doubt it could work, but that's because they've never witnessed something like this in the flesh,' the helmer said. 'This film has moments that people will have never seen, heard, or even dreamt before — and that's what excites me most.' Crucible Films and Silent D Pictures are producing, with the latter's Djonny Chen overseeing. Silent D's recent slate includes 'High Wire' (starring Isabella Wei of '1899'), 'Finding My Voice' (with Michelle Ryan of 'Bionic Woman'), 'Follow The Dark' (with James Cosmo of 'Game of Thrones') and Indonesian box office hit 'Before Night Falls.' The film is eyeing a late 2025 delivery with major festival berths in its sights. WWE SmackDown results, highlights (July 4): Drew McIntyre is back, Andrade and Rey Fenix shine

"WWE SmackDown" finished off the company's week in Pittsburgh with some Fourth of July fireworks. This show was all about tag-team action, as it exclusively featured multi-person matches. It feels like quite some time since that occurred, but considering the outcomes, it worked out. 👀 Return of the Night Drew McIntyre is back. But in somewhat of a lackluster fashion. Advertisement Cody Rhodes opened "WWE SmackDown" properly, only getting out a handful of lines before Randy Orton emerged to build this hesitation narrative further, alluding to their match at WWE Night of Champions and Rhodes vs. John Cena at WrestleMania 41. Ladies and gentlemen, I think we're getting a double-turn at WWE SummerSlam. Orton, golden on the mic as always, demanded Rhodes kick Cena's ass in their rematch — and that was the magic sentence to bring out McIntyre. He then called them betas to his alpha status, attempting to drive a wedge between the two — and ultimately eating an RKO for his troubles. Advertisement McIntyre still feels so incredibly lost and directionless, because despite any history he has with either man, this felt random as hell. He said he wants Rhodes to win back the title just so he can take it from him, which is essentially the only tease made other than antagonizing Orton just for fun. Now, they'll wrestle at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event next weekend. 😱 Swerve of the Night This "WWE SmackDown" ended in the most stunning fashion imaginable with Solo Sikoa and JC Mateo vs. Jacob Fatu and Jimmy Uso as the main event. You're not going to believe it, but this match went on without interference, and Fatu pinned Sikoa clean to get him and Uso the win. Advertisement Is Triple H listening?! I seriously can't believe it, but it's incredibly welcome, despite the interesting choice to keep Mateo protected rather than Sikoa. I suppose the fallback for that is Sikoa being the leader of this "Bloodline 3.0," which he doesn't want to refer to as a Bloodline continuation. It was a good match, but overshadowed by what came later. The loss was essentially voided in the immediate aftermath because, of course, there was still the attack from Sikoa's crew, who launched Fatu through the announce table and stood tall to close the show. 😤 Coexistence of the Night WWE is doing the thing. "Can they coexist?" Everyone telegraphed this with Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss, and there are both positives and negatives to it. Let's start with the good. Advertisement Flair's absence from a singles title scene for an extended period isn't going to hurt. In fact, it's quickly helping her regain points with the fans by pairing her with someone who's been consistently over, as Bliss is. Additionally, Flair is becoming a meta version of herself. People can get behind that type of approach rather than someone delusional or in denial, so this is the right path to take. On the other hand, this entire angle between two wrestlers who are polar opposites, single stars, and not a real team, once again fully buries the "real" women's tag teams, just like the Bayley and Lyra Valkyria story. At the same time, there's not even a division at this point; there barely was one before WrestleMania 41, anyway. So, does it really matter? As for the match itself, the start was clunky beyond all belief, and there was a triple dive spot that had me gritting my teeth for everyone. The second half picked up the pace though, as everyone got on the same page, including the new frenemies Bliss and Flair, who won their tag-team triple-threat match against Michin and B-Fab, as well as The Secret Hervice. They pinned the latter with a moonsault/Twisted Bliss combo, advancing to the Fatal 4-Way tag-team title match at WWE Evolution. "WWE SmackDown" really has become the tag-team show, and while there was good and bad, one, in particular, delivered with flying colors. Advertisement 👑 Uncrowned Gem of the Night 👑 OK, so Triple H decided to just go and give significant time to the Fraxiom vs. Andrade and Rey Fenix match, and it was one of the best "WWE SmackDown" matches of the year. Uncrowned Gems don't get much easier to decide than this one. First and foremost, I will say I don't love this new team of Andrade and Fenix being the first team to beat Fraxiom, but the match was so damn sensational that I can give it a pass. It was one of those pairings where you knew a treat was on the way, but this overdelivered. There are too many great moments to highlight, but if I had to pick one, it was the near-finish on Andrade that crescendoed into his team's win. Seriously, if you missed it, just go watch and thank me later. Advertisement 👍 FRIDAY NIGHT FIRE(WORKS) 👍 Two-hour "WWE SmackDowns," how we missed you. This runtime is so, so, so much more digestible. 👎 DOWN & OUT 👎 1. The Wyatt Sicks beat Johnny Gargano, Chris Sabin, Montez Ford and Berto in an eight-man tag match. That was "WWE SmackDown" general manager Nick Aldis' solution to everything that's transpired in the tag-team division. Like last week though, WWE keeps booking the Wyatts into an overpowered corner. It was a fine match, but consider this — they beat a member of all four major tag-teams (aside from Fraxiom). They have to win the titles, or this is Fiend-levels of absurd all over again. It arguably already is. Advertisement On a side note, all the Wyatts do is laugh throughout their matches. What a gimmick. 2. Like Iyo Sky, Women's WWE Champion Tiffany Stratton got to pick her Evolution opponent at her leisure, and she went with WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus. In kayfabe, this makes her look atrocious, as she is picking an inactive legend as her next title defense. It's the equivalent of Dan Henderson's UFC middleweight title shot against Michael Bisping. Because of this, Stratton immediately became a heel again, presumably (and hopefully) just for this match. (Although she has been somewhat of a hybrid-type wrestler since becoming champion.) Everyone loves Stratus, as they should. However Stratton's title reign has rapidly declined overall since that Bayley title defense, and it's incredibly sad to see. 👑 Another weekly WWE show without a DQ finish. I'm genuinely stunned. I give this show a Crown score of: 7.5/10. 👑

Cody Rhodes Responds To Those Not Satisfied With WrestleMania 41 Main Event

A lot of fans and critics weren't thrilled with the WrestleMania 41 main event between Cody Rhodes and John Cena. WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes was a recent guest on Busted Open Radio. When asked about those who weren't satisfied with the main event of WrestleMania 41, Rhodes shouldered the blame and said he hopes to take things across the finish line with the rematch at SummerSlam. Advertisement 'SummerSlam, I don't wanna go as far as making any promises,' Rhodes began. 'But I can tell you the goal with SummerSlam is if people felt a certain way about WrestleMania, I will put that all on my back and take all the credit and responsibility for perhaps not feeling satisfied. I'd like to get 'em to the finish line with SummerSlam. Very much looking forward to doing this dance again.' [H/T: Fightful] John Cena and Cody Rhodes will most likely be the main event of night two of SummerSlam this August.
