Millie Bright hails ‘proper determination' as England reach Euros final
Bright was a key cog in the England team when they triumphed on home soil at Euro 2022, but the Chelsea defender made herself unavailable for this year's competition, stating she was 'not able to give 100 per cent mentally or physically'.
One day later, it was confirmed Bright had undergone minor knee surgery and has taken to supporting her team-mates from home.

She said: 'It's a completely different place for me to be viewing from home, supporting. I think as a player you never get to experience watching the game as a fan because you're always in it.
'It's been really nice to see the next generation coming through and I think also seeing the team prove a lot of people wrong.
'Regardless of whether you're there or not there, you're still a Lioness, still an England player and I'm really proud to be English. I always want my team to do well.
'I'm super proud of them. I've really enjoyed that fight, that grit, that proper English determination to come from behind, lose games, bounce back, deal with all the obstacles the girls have dealt with. I'm really proud.'
England got off to a disappointing start after opening their title defence with a 2-1 defeat to France, but bounced back with wins against the Netherlands and neighbours Wales.

A pulsating quarter-final clash against Sweden followed when England came back from two goals down to level it at 2-2 with two goals in two minutes from Lucy Bronze and Agyemang.
The contest was settled on penalties, where an extraordinary shootout saw both sides miss spot kicks before England eventually sneaked through thanks to Bronze's winning kick.
Drama followed against Italy on Tuesday night as 19-year-old substitute Agyemang levelled in stoppage time after Barbara Bonansea's opener and Kelly then smashed home the rebound from her initial penalty in the 119th minute.
England's attention now turns to Sunday's final in Basel.
Bright said: 'The win last night, I'd love us to stop going to extra time, it gives me too much stress and anxiety!

'But I'm so proud of the girls, I think it's unbelievable. There was a lot of chat about having an inexperienced group and having more youngsters than senior players, but the kids have come true.
'I think we've been the best team at the tournament in terms of everyone playing their role, subs coming in and making the difference.
'We're back in another final and rooting for the girls all the way. It's time to bring it home again.'

Gers want to bring the talented teen north of the border on loan Tottenham boss Thomas Frank has confirmed his desire for teenage star Mikey Moore to go out on loan this season - with Rangers poised to land the England youth international. "Mikey is a big talent, I'm really excited about his future here at Tottenham. "I think for all players, but especially the younger players, they need to get that first-team consistent football into their bodies. "If we can find the right option, we'll do that." Where Moore to make the move north of the border, then he would join teammate Alfie Dorrington in leaving Spurs for the Premiership. Centre back Dorrington has returned to Aberdeen on loan after helping Jimmy Thelin's side lift the Scottish Cup for the first time since 1990 in the second half of last season. Man United legend Rio Ferdinand has revealed his 'conspiracy theory' which he believes could stop Liverpool from signing Alexander Isak as the Newcastle star pushes for a move this summer. Isak was left out of Newcastle's squad for their tour to the Far East, with the forward nursing a thigh injury. Mail Sport then exclusively revealed that Isak had asked to explore a move away, with reigning Premier League champions Liverpool the clear frontrunners for his signature. Newcastle are formally braced for an offer from Liverpool for Isak, with the Reds set to bank £65million from the sale of Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich. The Magpies are currently working on deals for more than one striker right now, aware that Isak could go, with Yoane Wissa and Benjamin Sesko are the most active pursuits. Mail Sport reported on Tuesday that RB Leipzig forward Sesko is one of two options, along with Ollie Watkins, being considered by Man United in their search for a striker. Speaking on his Rio Ferdinand Presents podcast, the former Man United defender put forward a theory as to why the Red Devils should move to sign Sesko, with the 22-year-old understood to be available for £60m plus add-ons to certain clubs. 'Can I just say why we should buy him,' Ferdinand said. 'I wanted a striker with experience, so he would not be my first choice obviously, even now. 'But the fact that, this is a bit of a conspiracy theory, if Man United buy him and Newcastle don't get a No 9, does that mean Isak stays at Newcastle and Liverpool don't get Isak. 'Liverpool's transfer window has been nothing short of exceptional so far, if they get Isak it is lights out for the Premier League.' Ferdinand's suggestion, which may have been tongue in cheek, comes with the number of forward options on the market rapidly dwindling. Liverpool had already beaten Newcastle to the signing of Hugo Ekitike, while Arsenal last week sealed a deal for Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon. Ferdinand's comment also reflected Liverpool's powerful moves in the transfer market this summer, despite finishing 10 points clear last season. The Reds have already signed Florian Wirtz for £116m and paid £69million plus add-ons to Eintracht Frankfurt for Ekitike.
