A Hyderabad-based man shared a disturbing incident that happened around midnight on Friday when he, along with his colleague, was chased by two teenagers on a bike.In a now-viral Reddit post titled "Horrible Experience at Uppal X Road (OC)" under the 'r/hyderabad' community, he described how two teenagers on the bike confronted and later pursued his cab in the middle of the night.advertisementThe man said he was returning from work with a colleague after a 2 pm–11 pm shift. He was eager to get home to his wife, who is nine months pregnant. Around 12:30 am, as their cab approached Uppal X Road, they encountered heavy traffic under a metro station.
'Friday night, I had a deeply unsettling experience that I need to share. I was returning home from work with my colleague and our cab driver after a late shift (2 pm to 11 pm),' he said, adding, 'It's a new job, and I'm grateful for the opportunity—it pays well enough for a decent life. I was genuinely happy, especially since it was the weekend and my wife, who is nine months pregnant, was waiting for me at home. I couldn't wait to see her after a long day'.Their driver honked to navigate through when two teenagers on a bike, who he claimed were drunk and possibly under the influence of other substances, began causing a scene.'They were banging on cars and shouting. When my colleague politely asked them to move ahead, they unlocked our cab door and barged in from the front seat. One of them hurled abuses and then hit my colleague,' the man wrote. His colleague managed to push the attacker out, and they quickly shut the door and fled. But the ordeal didn't stop there. The teens allegedly chased their cab, a moment caught on video and later shared in the Reddit post. The duo then drove to the nearest police station to file a complaint. However, the situation escalated further when they saw one of the teens loitering outside the station, who fled as soon as he spotted a constable.'They chased us, as you can see in the video I have. We drove straight to the nearest police station and filed a complaint. Shockingly, when we were leaving the station, one of those teens was waiting outside. He bolted as soon as he saw a constable,' the man said.'This incident left me rattled. I just wanted to get home to my family, but what we went through was terrifying,' he added in his post.advertisementTake a look at the post here:Watch the video here: The post sparked strong reactions online. Several users recounted similar experiences and called out the growing safety concerns in the city.'I faced something like this near Tarnaka. Drunk students dashed my bike and later shouted slogans to divert the crowd. The police barely helped, and insurance hardly covered my damage,' a user said.Another user advised caution: 'You did the right thing by not engaging. These goons aren't worth the risk. Always push for an FIR—even if the police seem reluctant.'Several users expressed concern over the boldness of the teens. 'Sorry to hear that you and your colleague had to go through this. Hope the number plate was visible and the police will take necessary action,' one of the users said. While the Reddit user managed to avoid serious harm, the incident raised larger questions about late-night safety in the city and the growing recklessness among youth on the roads.- EndsTrending Reel

2 Bishnoi gang members held for extortion attempt in city

Jaipur: The city crime branch police Saturday arrested two men accused of trying to extort money from a Jaipur-based businessman in the name of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's brother, Anmol Bishnoi. The suspects, identified as 30-year-old Netrapal Singh and 36-year-old Maan Prajapat—also known as Mangalchand or Maan Boxer—were allegedly acting under instructions from Hari Boxer, an associate of Anmol Bishnoi believed to be running gang operations from abroad. Police sources said the businessman received a threatening message on WhatsApp demanding Rs 10 crore last week. A cyber investigation was launched, leading to the arrest of the two accused. Officers recovered two mobile phones suspected to have been used for the extortion call and for contacting Hari Boxer. Netrapal was traced to the Lal Kothi area, while Prajapat was picked up from Amer. Officials said both men were using Anmol Bishnoi's name to intimidate businessmen and were involved in land grabbing in the city. They were collecting information on potential targets and threatening them by claiming ties to the Bishnoi gang. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Spacious 4 BHK Homes starting @ ₹5.25 Cr* on Dwarka E-Way Emaar India Get Quote Undo According to police, Prajapat remained in frequent contact with Hari Boxer through social media and used his connections with the gang to strike land deals and extort businessmen. NHRC lens on tribal couple's public humiliation in Rayagada

CUTTACK: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has registered a petition after a shocking incident in Rayagada district's Kanjamajodi village, where a tribal couple was allegedly tied to a yoke and forced to till a field in full public view as punishment for being in a relationship within the same clan. The couple, Kodia Saraka (32) and Laka Saraka (28), were subjected to the humiliation by villagers after their relationship was deemed a violation of tribal customs, as Laka is said to be Kodia's paternal aunt. The incident came to light after videos of the couple being forced to till the land went viral on social media. Sources said a local kangaroo court had ordered the so-called 'purification' ritual, claiming their union was sinful and could bring misfortune to the community. Taking cognisance of the matter, human rights activist Anup Kumar Patro filed a complaint with the NHRC on Saturday, urging the commission to direct the state's chief secretary to investigate the incident and ensure justice for the victims. "This incident is a clear violation of human rights and dignity," said Patro. A Berhampur-based NGO also petitioned the NHRC, seeking its urgent intervention and demanding strict action against those involved. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 東京の猫好きがこの猫型ランプに夢中になる理由を大公開! The rights group has urged the commission to order an independent probe, ensure strong action against the perpetrators, provide adequate compensation and rehabilitation to the victims, and recommend measures to prevent such unlawful punishments in future.

BSF with Punjab Police apprehends smuggler with pistol in Tarn Taran

Tarn Taran (Punjab) [India], July 12 (ANI): In a successful joint operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police apprehended a smuggler along with a pistol and magazine near Miyawali Chowk in Khemkaran area of Tarn Taran district late Friday night, according to a BSF statement. The accused has been identified as a resident of Miyawali village and is currently in the custody of the Police Station Khemkaran. Authorities have launched a detailed investigation to uncover his suspected links with illegal cross-border activities and determine the motive behind possessing the firearm. This significant apprehension with weapon demonstrates the professional competence and unflinching dedication of the BSF troops and Punjab Police who are committed to securing the nation's border as well as foil terror activities in the hinterland. In a separate intelligence-driven operation earlier this week, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) Punjab has successfully stopped a major terror plot by Harwinder Rinda, a Pakistan-based Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) operative supported by Pakistan's ISI. Using important information, the AGTF team found and took away weapons from a forest in Gurdaspur. They recovered two AK-47 rifles with 16 bullets, two magazines, and two hand grenades before these weapons could reach Harwinder Rinda's helpers. In a post on X, DGP Punjab Police said, 'In an intelligence-led operation, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (#AGTF) Punjab successfully foiled a major terror plot orchestrated by Harwinder Rinda, a Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) operative based in #Pakistan and backed by Pakistan's ISI. Acting swiftly on human intelligence, AGTF teams traced and recovered a large cache of terrorist hardware, including two AK-47 rifles with 16 live cartridges, two magazines, and two P-86 hand grenades from a forest area in #Gurdaspur, before it could reach Harwinder @ Rinda's associates.' The first investigation shows that these weapons were sent into India by Pakistani groups and Harwinder Rinda to carry out attacks in different places in Punjab. Their goal was to disturb peace in the state. A police case has been registered under the Explosives Act and the Arms Act at the Purana Shala police station in Gurdaspur. 'Preliminary investigation reveals, the recovered consignment was pushed into India by Pakistani agencies and Harwinder @ Rinda as part of a premeditated plan to carry out attacks at multiple locations in Punjab, aiming to disrupt public peace. An FIR under the Explosives Act and the Arms Act has been registered at PS Purana Shala, Gurdaspur,' the post reads. The police are still investigating to find and catch the people working with Rinda who were involved in this weapons smuggling. (ANI)
