Netflix's You fans left gobsmacked as they discover cast's hidden talent

Daily Mirror01-05-2025

After the premiere of the fifth and final season, the cast of Netflix show You have showed off hidden talent in a now-viral video, which has left fans of the show completely gobsmacked
Viewers have been left gobsmacked after discovering that the cast of Netflix's You possess a secret skill, which they flaunted on social media.
The fifth and concluding season of the popular show You officially dropped on Netflix on April 24, 2025, leaving fans on tenterhooks as they witness the end of Joe Goldberg's gruesome saga, portrayed by Penn Badgley. The season features familiar faces from past seasons, such as Charlotte Ritchie as Kate Galvin, along with fresh additions, including Pitch Perfect star Anna Camp. Despite the show's grim theme, the cast appears to have formed a tight-knit bond.

In a now- viral video shared on the podcast 'Podcrushed' social media channels, hosted by Penn alongside Nava Kavelin Sophie Ansari, some of the show's cast members decided to reveal a hidden talent.

In the clip, Penn is seen operating the camera while smeared in what seems to be fake blood. Sporting a grin, he diverts his gaze from the camera and hushes his co-stars who were seated behind him, all looking in various directions.
Charlotte Ritchie, Anna Camp, and 'You' executive producer Justin W. Lo, along with podcast co-host Nava Kavelin, were all sitting on the floor in a quiet moment before Penn Badgley began singing the bridge of Taylor Swift and Bon Iver's song 'Exile'.
The rest of the group chimed in harmoniously. Initially, Penn, Charlotte, and Justin penned the first line, originally sung by Bon Iver, then Anna and Nava joined in with Taylor Swift's part.
"Fans ready to exile us when they find out Victoria isn't at the roundtable. Watch anyway," Penn captioned the video, which has since racked up over four million views on TikTok.
The hidden vocal chops of the 'You' cast took fans by surprise, with many dubbing them the new 'Barden Bellas', the acapella group from Pitch Perfect that Anna Camp starred in.

One fan exclaimed, "Close enough, welcome back Barden Bellas," while another added, "The world is healing Anna Camp is back doing acappella."
A thrilled fan commented, "ANNA CAMP SINGING AGAIN YESSSS," and another suggested, "I just know this was Penn's idea."
Highlighting another talent in the group, one viewer pointed out, "Everyone talking about Anna but you got Charlotte from 'All Angels'?!!??!!?!!", while another expressed disbelief: "I can't believe we are witnessing this."
Curiosity arose as one person questioned, "Why wasn't their a musical episode of You?" to which Podcrushed playfully responded, "YOU on Broadway?".
Fans were quick to spot that Victoria Pedretti, famed for her portrayal of Guinevere Beck in earlier seasons, was missing from the latest instalment of the series. One viewer queried: "no but really, why isn't Victoria in season 5?".
Echoing the sentiment, another fan lamented, "We just miss her," in reference to Victoria. The official Podcrushed account responded with a touch of nostalgia: "We do too" accompanied by a red heart emoji.

Models lured to sick 'Porta-Potty' Dubai parties by men lavishing them with gifts

Dubai is known for its glitzy lifestyle that draws hundreds of social media influencers and reality TV stars - but inside, there's a dark secret that has sparked concern for the welfare of women travelling to the popular tourism hotspot. Models have been lured to sick 'Porta-Potty' parties by men lavishing them with gifts as we look at inside Dubai's dark underbelly. These twisted gatherings - reportedly organised by wealthy men - lure young models and influencers with promises of tens of thousands of pounds, luxury gifts, and lavish hotel stays, reports the Mirror. ‌ But behind the glitz lies a horrifying truth, including acts of extreme sexual degradation, physical abuse, and potential legal peril for the women involved. An influencer sparked concern on TikTok after sharing extravagant gifts bought for her by a stranger she met at the gym on Wednesday. ‌ Jade, who goes by @outplayedbyjade online, is originally from France but travelled to Dubai as she documented her trip online. In her video, she explained how she had been leaving the gym when workers approached her with a gift from someone she had met on the treadmill. "I didn't think much of it," she explained in the video. A worker handed her a bouquet of flowers and chocolate from the man she had struck up a conversation with. Flattered, she texted the number he had left with the gift to thank him, after which she then received a call from a shop assistant at the luxury jewellery designer store Van Cleef & Arpels. "I'm a very curious girl, so I make my way over to the shop," she explained. "This assistant pulls out a beautiful bracelet and a matching necklace." All together, the gifts were worth around £3,000. And while Jade was over the moon with her gifts, fans were quick to warn the influencer that he was a "professional" and to "be careful" amid reports of men recruiting women for " Porta-Parties" in Dubai. ‌ There was no information to confirm the intentions of the man spoiling Jade. Maria Kovalchuk, a 20-year-old Ukrainian adult model, who was reportedly left for dead after attending one of the Porta-Potty parties. Maria vanished after telling her mother she'd been invited to stay overnight with two men claiming to be modelling agents. She never made her flight to Thailand. ‌ Ten days later, on March 19, she was found dumped at the roadside in Dubai, suffering from a shattered spine, broken limbs, and severe internal injuries. Maria has undergone multiple surgeries, and her family, now at her bedside, are desperate for answers. It's thought she is still recovering from her injuries. ‌ Dubai Police confirmed that Maria is receiving medical care, but claimed she 'entered a restricted construction site alone and fell from a height'. A statement many find hard to accept, given the disturbing rumours swirling around her disappearance. Russian lawyer Katya Gordon, who has followed the case closely, bluntly alleged: "Model Maria Kovalchuk was found dying on the side of the road in the UAE after a party. The scandal with the Porta Potty parties has been raging for over a year." Gordon and others allege that Maria may have been forced to take part in a sex act involving human faeces - a central theme of these "Porta-Potty" events, where humiliation and abuse are part of the package. ‌ These parties reportedly involve women being paid vast sums of money to perform grotesque acts involving bodily fluids, degradation and pain. Viral videos have helped expose this shadowy world, but the abuse is largely hidden by Dubai's shiny reputation and strict censorship laws. And the women involved in these parties could even find themselves prosecuted. Radha Stirling, CEO of Detained in Dubai, has warned that women involved in these parties - even against their will - could face charges of adultery or indecency, especially if married men are present. ‌ "Sex outside marriage has been legalised in Dubai, but organisers have exploited this. Women think they're attending a private party - instead, they're thrown into horrific, dangerous situations with real legal risk," Stirling said. Maria's mother told Ukrainian media: "She has no documents, no phone, nothing. She's had three operations. She can't speak. We were told she went to a party, but the promoter claims he never saw her. We're terrified of what really happened." Matthew Goode reveals 'really dark' pitch that torpedoed his James Bond audition

Hollywood star Matthew Goode has opened up about his disastrous pitch for James Bond, which went so badlythathe never even got to audition for the role. Matthew, 47, was one of a handful of actors reportedly in the running for 2006's Casino Royale, along with Henry Cavill, Rupert Friend and Sam Worthington. However, Matthew didn't get much further than his meeting with franchise producer Barbara Broccoli – putting himself out of the running by pitching Bond as an alcoholic drug addict who 'hates himself' and 'hates women.' The role ultimately went to Daniel Craig, who starred as Bond for five films before bowing out with 2021's No Time to Die. With the franchise now run by Amazon MGM Studios after being purchased for $8.45billion (£6.7billion) in 2022, the hunt is on for their new Bond. Reflecting on his own vision of 007, Matthew has spoken of where it all went wrong. In an interview with Variety, Matthew said: 'I didn't audition. I went in and met Barbara [Broccoli]. 'It was quite a funny one because — and she's gorgeous and just a lovely, lovely person — she was like, 'So what's your idea for Bond?' 'And I was like, 'My idea for Bond. We've gotta take it back to the books, you know? Really, we absolutely have to make this guy an alcoholic, a drug addict. He hates himself. He hates women. He hates a lot of people. He's in deep pain. He's brilliant at killing people.'' And that, according to Matthew, is where his journey ended. 'I think by the end of the interview, she was like, 'Mhmm. Next.' 'I wanted to make it really dark, but what I should have said was, 'But also incredibly charming.'' After failing to score a licence to kill, Matthew went on to star in Zack Snyder's superhero adaptation Watchmen, in which he played the scheming Ozymandias. Since then, he has appeared as Henry Talbot in the period drama Downton Abbey, and as Toby Armstrong-Jones in The Crown. His film work includes the comedy drama Cemetery Junction and comedy-spy prequel The King's Man, both of which featured Bond star Ralph Fiennes, who appeared as M opposite Daniel Craig. Matthew can currently be found starring in the crime drama Dept. Q for Netflix, where he plays disgraced detective Carl Morck. As for Bond, the hunt is now on for Daniel Craig's replacement following the appointment of Denis Villeneuve to direct the next entry in the franchise. The Dune director has promised that the franchise is in good hands, saying: 'Some of my earliest movie-going memories are connected to 007. 'I grew up watching James Bond films with my father, ever since Dr. No with Sean Connery. I'm a die-hard Bond fan. To me, he's sacred territory.' He described the opportunity 'a massive responsibility, but also, incredibly exciting for me and a huge honour.' The studio has reportedly narrowed their search for the next Bond down to three names, according to Variety. More Trending It's also said that Amazon MGM are seeking a British actor under the age of 30. As such, Saltburn star Jacob Elordi, the MCU's Tom Holland and Babygirl star Harris Dickinson are all said to be under consideration. Jacob may not be a Brit, but could follow in former Bond George Lazenby's footsteps as an Australian 007. Got a story?
