India receives request from China's staunch enemy for D4 anti-drone system, not US, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, it is...

New Delhi: Taiwan has officially asked India for the weapons with which India had destroyed Pakistani drones during Operation Sindoor. Taiwan has sent a request to buy the D4 anti-drone system developed by India's DRDO and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL). China is bound to get angry at this request of Taiwan because China does not want any country to help Taiwan. But the way China is giving defense packages and modern weapon systems to Pakistan, experts say that India should also hand over similar weapons to Taiwan.
The D4 anti-drone system has been developed by India's DRDO and manufactured by Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL). The power of the D4 anti-drone system was seen during Operation Sindoor, when Pakistan attacked India with about 300 to 400 drones made by Turkey and China. During this time, India shot down all the drones in the air itself. India also shot down Turkey's Bayraktar TB-2 drone. This revealed the strength of India's advanced soft kill jamming and hard kill laser capability which stunned the world.
D4, i.e. Detect, Deter, Destroy, Defend, is an integrated anti-drone system developed jointly by India's DRDO and BEL (Bharat Electronics Limited). This system works at 4 levels. Detect: Accurately detects the presence of drones with multi-frequency radar and EO/IR sensor. Deter: It can deviate enemy drones from the mission through signal jamming and GPS spoofing. Destroy: Drones armed with laser-based hard-kill technology and RF jammers in the system can be destroyed in the air itself. Defend: Ensures the protection of sensitive areas from any remaining drone or swarm attack.
China considers Taiwan as its part and has clearly stated that it does not mind using force to merge Taiwan with China. In the last few years, China has increased its military exercises and drone surveillance in the Taiwan Strait. Since 2024, the PLA has doubled the number of surveillance and attack drones near the Taiwan border. In such a situation, there is a great need for a first-rate anti-drone system for Taiwan.

Instagram gone, YouTube on? Pakistani celebs blocked again, but are serials still streaming in India? Here's what we found

On Thursday, while social media profiles of Pakistani celebrities were taken down again, new serials from platforms like Hum TV, Har Pal Geo, and ARY Digital were still playing on YouTube when ET checked. However, with growing calls for a full digital and cultural ban, this access may not last long. There is no official word yet on whether these serials will be blocked next, but public sentiment is clearly against allowing any exposure. Earlier this week, several Pakistani celebrities and media platforms briefly resurfaced on Indian digital space. Instagram accounts of actors like Yumna Zaidi, Mawra Hocane, Ahad Raza Mir, and Saba Qamar became visible. YouTube channels of cricketers Shahid Afridi and Shoaib Akhtar, along with major entertainment networks like Hum TV and ARY Digital, also reappeared. But by Thursday morning, the situation changed. The accounts were once again restricted. Users saw the standard message: 'Account not available in India. This is because we complied with a legal request to restrict this content.' AICWA renews demand for total ban The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) intensified its demand for a permanent ban on all Pakistani entertainment content in India. In a fresh appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the association called for a complete shutdown, from social media and OTT to all forms of advertising and media collaborations. Live Events Calling the reappearance of Pakistani celebrities 'an emotional assault,' AICWA strongly criticised the development. The body referred to major terror attacks including 26/11, Pulwama, Uri, and the recent Pahalgam massacre where 26 civilians lost their lives. It condemned the silence of Pakistani artists and even their alleged anti-India comments after Operation Sindoor.

Jaishankar in US: EAM again refutes Trump's claim of brokering peace between India-Pakistan, slams selective stance on terror

After PM Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Wednesday once again clarified that the ceasefire between India and Pakistan was a bilateral arrangement, without foreign mediation. The former diplomat criticised the selective global response to terrorism following the deadly Pahalgam attack on April 22. Speaking at a press conference in Washington DC during his ongoing three-day visit, Jaishankar reiterated that the 2021 ceasefire was negotiated directly by military officials of the two countries. The clarification comes in response to past remarks by US President Donald Trump, who had claimed credit for brokering peace between the two South Asian neighbours. 'It is a fact that often countries do not take a position when some other countries are victims of terrorism, which they would do when they themselves are. In that respect honestly, we have been much more consistent and principled. When terror attacks happen elsewhere outside India, we have largely followed the same position that we have taken when they have happened in India,' the minister said. 'Countries are not backing each other sufficiently enough and part of diplomacy is to exhort them, encourage them, persuade them, motivate them to do that, and which is why it's important to speak up, and which is why it's important to carry them with us to the best possibility,' he added. When asked about the US's role in mediating the India-Pakistan ceasefire following Operation Sindoor , Jaishankar refuted any third-party involvement. 'The record of what happened at that time was very clear and the ceasefire was something which was negotiated between the DGMOs of the two countries,' he said. Jaishankar, in Washington for the Quad foreign ministers' meeting, also met Indian-origin US officials including FBI Director Kash Patel and US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard. Discussions spanned bilateral cooperation on counterterrorism, drug trafficking, organised crime, and the broader global security landscape.

Pakistani actors Mawra Hocane, Saba Qamar, Danish Taimoor and others' social media accounts banned again in India, just a day after they were made visible

The social media accounts of many Pakistani actors were banned once again in India, only a day after they suddenly became visible. On Wednesday, Indian netizens were surprised to see the Instagram accounts of Pakistani stars like , , Ahad Raza Mir, Yumna Zaidi, and Danish Taimoor pop up on their feeds. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Accounts were visible for just a day Now, within a day, these accounts are once again banned in India. Now, if anyone tries to find them, they see a clear message: "Account not available in India. This is because we complied with a legal request to restrict this content." Interestingly, other big Pakistani names such as , , and Hania Aamir never became visible at all. Their social media accounts stayed banned even during this brief period. Back on 8 May, the Indian government had issued a strict advisory to all OTT platforms and digital streaming services. They were told to remove any web series, films, music, podcasts, or any other content that comes from Pakistan. This step was taken to keep firm on India's stance against cross-border concerns. AICWA steps in with a letter to PM Modi The quick reappearance of these Pakistani actors' accounts caught the attention of the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA). On Wednesday itself, the group wrote a letter to Prime Minister , raising strong objections. In their letter, AICWA said: 'It is deeply concerning and absolutely unacceptable that social media accounts of Pakistani artists like Mawra Hocane, Yumna Zaidi, and several Pakistan-based channels are once again visible in India." They didn't stop there. The letter went on to say: "This is not merely a digital appearance — it is a direct insult to the sacrifice of our martyred soldiers and an emotional assault on every Indian who lost a loved one in terror attacks perpetrated by Pakistan.'
