Liverpool name former Wales boss as new U21s manager
Former Wales manager Rob Page has taken the reins of Liverpool's Under-21 side.
Page's most recent role was at the helm of the Welsh senior team, where he spent three and a half years from 2020. He initially joined as Ryan Giggs' assistant, stepped in as interim boss, and was eventually handed the job full-time.

During his time in charge, the 50-year-old guided Wales to their first World Cup appearance since 1958 and also reached the knockout stages of Euro 2020. However, his spell came to an end in June 2024 after Wales failed to qualify for the Euros that summer.
His departure from the senior role followed a string of poor results, including a goalless draw against Gibraltar and a heavy 4-0 defeat to Slovakia. Craig Bellamy has since taken over the national team duties.
A former international captain with 41 caps to his name, Page had previously managed the Wales Under-21s and earned praise for his work with the youth side before stepping up.
At Liverpool, Page takes over from Barry Lewtas, who left the U21 post earlier this month.

It's unclear how much Chelsea would want for Felix or whether they would accept a loan, but Saudi are likely to offer them the highest transfer fee. Christopher Nkunku set to leave Felix isn't the only attacker heading for the Stamford Bridge exit door this summer, and it seems highly likely Christopher Nkunku will join him. Fabrizio Romano reports that Jarell Quansah's long awaited move to Bayer Leverkusen should be completed early next week. The 22-year-old is due in Leverkusen for a medical on Monday. Quansah will then be officially unveiled by his new Bundesliga club. The news on the scheduled medical isn't particularly surprising. It remained common knowledge that Quansah would head to Westphalia after the conclusion of England's participation in the UEFA U21 Euros. Quansah and the English U21s are set to face the German U21s in the Final this evening. LONDON (AP) — Novak Djokovic offered some lighthearted advice to top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at Wimbledon on Saturday after gatecrashing the Belarusian's news conference. Djokovic and Sabalenka spent some time practicing together at the All England Club this week ahead of the start of the grass-court Grand Slam tournament. Djokovic, a seven-time Wimbledon champion, then playfully interrupted the end of Sabalenka's news conference on Saturday by telling her to hurry up so he could take over the podium. 'What did you think about hitting with me?" the three-time major winner asked Djokovic. "How do you see my level? Am I good?' Djokovic, who holds a total of 24 Grand Slams, was quick with a quip. 'I think you have the potential. You're like a really talented player,' he said, before offering a criticism of Sabalenka — who is known as one of the biggest hitters on the women's circuit. 'Can I be honest? You're lacking intensity on the court," Djokovic said, drawing laughter. 'You don't have enough intensity. It's too flat.
