Souq Waqif to host second edition of ‘Hamba Exhibition' of Pakistani mangoes from today
Tribune News Network Doha The Celebrations Committee of the Private Engineering Office, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Doha, is organising the second edition of the Hamba Exhibition for Pakistani Mangoes and Products at the Eastern Square of Souq Waqif from July 10 to 19, 2025. This ten-day event invites visitors to enjoy a vibrant cultural experience, combining the rich flavours of Pakistan with authentic traditions. The return of the exhibition follows the resounding success of last year's inaugural edition, which drew wide public attendance and positive engagement. Building on that momentum, this year's event will see the participation of over 60 local Qatari companies and more than 10 specialised Pakistani companies engaged in mango trading and export. Exhibitors will showcase premium-quality mango varieties, freshly flown in for the event, including several new types being introduced to the Qatari market for the first time. The exhibition also features the participation of more than 25 restaurants and shops from the food and hospitality sector, offering innovative dishes and a wide array of mango-based products, adding a distinctive cultural and culinary dimension to the visitor experience. On this occasion, Khalid Saif Al-Suwaidi, General Supervisor of the Exhibition, said: 'We are launching the second edition of the Hamba Exhibition in cooperation with the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, with the aim of delivering a rich experience that combines authentic flavours and high quality. We have ensured that the exhibition site is equipped with appropriate cooling systems to preserve the freshness of the mangoes, which are flown in daily from Pakistan specifically for this event. We anticipate a strong turnout this year and are committed to providing an even better experience than last year's highly praised edition.' Al-Suwaidi added: 'What sets this year's exhibition apart is the extensive participation of both local and Pakistani companies specialising in mango trade and related products. We hope this will stimulate economic activity by enhancing trade exchange and encouraging healthy competition among traders—ultimately benefiting local consumers through greater variety and improved quality.' He also noted that daily visiting hours will be from 4:00pm to 9:00pm, extending to 10:00pm on official holidays. He encouraged the public to visit the exhibition early to enjoy the diverse mango varieties arriving from various regions of Pakistan, emphasising that some premium types may sell out quickly due to high demand. Ambassador of Pakistan, HE Muhammad Aamer, said: 'This year marks the second edition of the Pakistan Mango Exhibition in Doha, following the remarkable success of last year's event. The Al Hamba Festival is not only a celebration of Pakistan's finest mango varieties but also a vibrant showcase of our country's rich agricultural heritage. I would like to congratulate the Celebrations Organising Committee of the Private Engineering Office for their outstanding efforts in bringing this event to life. As the Embassy of Pakistan, we deeply value this cooperation, which continues to strengthen the bonds of friendship and collaboration between Pakistan and the State of Qatar.'
