Public flock ‘Ungaludin Stalin' camps for grievance redress
Through the camps, people from town area could submit petitions pertaining to 46 services of 15 departments and those from rural areas can avail 43 services of 13 departments to get their petitions resolved.
The 217 camps which would be conducted till July 30 are to be held in four municipalities, seven town panchayats and 11 panchayat unions.
Hundreds of petitions were submitted in the camps on the first day, said officials.
District Collector Simranjeet Singh Kahlon was present during the event.
In Sivaganga district, Minister for Co-operation K.R. Periyakaruppan along with the District Collector K. Porkodi launched the programme.
Following the first day of the camp, on July 17, for public in Karaikudi corporation limit, camp would be conducted at College Road Rama Navami Hall, Karaikudi.
Similarly, for Kalaiyarkovil panchayat union limit, camp at Melamangalam panchayat Baganeri Pazhavalavu community hall, for Sivaganga panchayat union, camp at Okkur panchayat community hall, for Tirupathur panchayat union limit, camp at community hall in Kumarapettai panchayat, are to be conducted.
Also, for Singampunari panchayat union people, camp would be conducted at Keyankondan panchayat community hall, for Kannankudu panchayat union people, camp would be conducted at Kandiyur panchayat union elementary school.
People could seek the assistance of camps for property tax, water facility and license, sewage water discharge connection, basic facilities, maintenance, birth and death certificate, barren land tax, roadside shop license, name change in property tax, among others.
Also, eligible women could apply for 'Kalaignar Urimai Thogai' assistance through the camps.

Continuing govt work from hospital, says CM Stalin
Chennai, Jul 22 (PTI) A day after he was admitted to a hospital here following 'mild giddiness', Chief Minister M K Stalin on Tuesday said he is continuing to perform his governance-related duties from the hospital. In a social media post, the Office of the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu (CMOTamil Nadu) quoted CM Stalin and said the chief minister advised Chief Secretary N Muruganandam that there should not be any slackness in addressing issues underscored in petitions received from public during the ongoing 'Ungaludan Stalin' campaign. The chief minister learnt from the top official whether the camps under the Ungaludan Stalin scheme were being held as per the plan; the number of petitions received till Monday and petitions that have been addressed. Meanwhile, a release from the government said, as many as 5,74,674 petitions were received under the scheme till Monday. On July 15, Chief Minister Stalin launched the outreach programme 'Ungaludan Stalin,' (Stalin with you) to take government services to the people and redress grievances by organising special camps in their neighbourhoods. Stalin was admitted to a private hospital here on July 21, after he experienced 'mild giddiness" during his morning walk. TIRUCHY: With Assembly elections less than a year away, Manachanallur MLA S Kathiravan has launched a campaign titled 'Makkaludan Manachanallur Kathiravan' — notably on the same day the state government inaugurated its 'Ungaludan Stalin' outreach. The campaign was flagged off by Municipal Administration Minister and DMK principal secretary K N Nehru. Framed as a grievance redressal drive, Kathiravan's initiative will see him meet residents across all 63 panchayats in his constituency over the coming months. Every evening, around 6 pm, party functionaries assemble people in a common place, where they air their issues to the MLA. Most of their questions are regarding the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai, MGNREGS job cards, house patta, etc. The MLA listens to them, promises follow-up. The meetings invariably end with a serving of piping hot biriyani. The pattern is the same in every meeting.

Tamil Nadu: 3 killed in explosion at fireworks unit in Sivakasi. Synopsis A blast occurred at a fireworks factory in Sivakasi, Virudhunagar district. The incident took place in Narayanapuram village. Three workers died, and three others were injured. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin expressed grief and announced compensation. Families of the deceased will receive Rs 4 lakhs. Injured individuals will get Rs 1 lakh or Rs 50,000 based on the severity. Three workers died while three others sustained injuries in an explosion at a fireworks manufacturing factory located in Sivakasi area of Tamil Nadu's Virudhunagar district. ADVERTISEMENT The incident occurred on Monday at around 3.50 pm in a privately owned firecracker factory located in Narayanapuram village in Sivakasi area of Virudhunagar. Chief Minister MK Stalin expressed deep shock and grief over the incident and extended his condolences to the bereaved families. An official statement from Chief Minister Stalin reads, "I was deeply shocked and saddened to hear the tragic news of a fatal explosion that occurred today (21.07.2025) at around 3:50 PM in a privately owned firecracker factory located in Narayanapuram village, Sivakasi Taluk, Virudhunagar District." "In this unexpected incident, Karthik (aged 23), son of Thangraj from Muthuramalingam Colony, Keelathiruthangal, and two others lost their lives on the spot. Furthermore, I have ordered special medical treatment for the following three individuals who sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment at Sivakasi Government Hospital," the statement added. The Chief Minister announced an ex-gratia of four lakhs for each of the kin of the deceased in the incident from the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund. A financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh would be provided to seriously injured individuals, while individuals with minor injury would receive help of Rs 50,000. ADVERTISEMENT "Along with conveying my heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the bereaved families and relatives of the deceased, I have also ordered the following financial assistance from the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund Rs 4 lakh each to the families of the deceased, Rs 1 lakh to those who are seriously injured and undergoing treatment in the hospital, Rs 50,000 each to those with minor injuries receiving treatment," Chief Minister Stalin said. Speaking to ANI, Thangaraj, who lost his son in the incident, said, "In the explosion, my son lost his life, and my wife is undergoing treatment at the government hospital in Sivakasi with 60 per cent burn injuries. All the three people who died in the incident are my relatives. It is very sad. The government must take appropriate action regarding this."
