Three teenagers injured in crash that closed motorway for nine hours
Emergency services were called to the northbound carriageway near junction 5 south of Newton Mearns after reports of a crash involving a grey Volkswagen Polo around 12.22am on Wednesday.
Four ambulances were sent to the incident, and the 19-year-old male driver was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The two male passengers, aged 17 and 19, were taken to hospital for treatment. The road was closed for more than nine hours.
Sergeant Jim Dewar said: 'Our enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing for anyone with information that could assist to get in touch.
'If you were driving in the area at the time, please check dash-cam footage to see if you have captured anything that may help with our investigation.'
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson added, 'We received a call at 12.22am to attend a road traffic collision on the M77.
'We dispatched four ambulances to the scene, and we transported three patients to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.'

Ronald Windle, 54, has been reported missing from the Ardersier area near Inverness. Concern is growing among Ronald's family and friends as his current whereabouts are unknown. At the time of his disappearance, he is believed to have been wearing a black T-shirt featuring a Corvette logo and black jeans. He is described as a White English male, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, with thinning grey/white hair. Police note that Ronald may have been walking in the direction of Inverness and have appealed for motorists on the road at that time to share their dashcam footage.

Two women dead and teenager injured in Highlands crash
Two women have died and a teenage girl has been injured in a three-vehicle crash in the Scottish Highlands. The collision, which happened at around 3pm on Monday, involved two cars and a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) on the A96 at the junction of Kingloss Road in Forres, Moray, Police Scotland said. The two women, aged 48 and 56, who were travelling in a black Vauxhall Mokka, died at the scene, officers said. A 15-year-old girl, who was a passenger in the Vauxhall, was airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where she is being treated for her injuries. The driver of the HGV and occupants of a VW Golf were uninjured, the force confirmed. Detectives said the A96 at Forres was set to remain closed for several hours and motorists were urged to avoid the area. Sergeant Lesley Morrison at Road Policing in Elgin said: 'We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this tragic crash or anyone who has dashcam footage of it.'
