TG govt, TBIGC jointly pledge to work for socio-economic devpt
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy interacted with former Prime Minister of UK Tony Blair during his visit to Delhi on Thursday. After stepping down from an active public career, Blair has started the TBIGC with the objective of assisting world leaders develop a vision, design strategies and convert them into actionable programmes. During their hour-long interaction, The CM provided details of the key elements of 'Telangana Rising 2047' which will be unveiled publicly on the 2nd anniversary of the State government on December 9, 2025.
Revanth Reddy highlighted the priority that will be given to social and economic development of various cross-sections like farmers, youth and women, and the overall improvement of human development indicators. He also highlighted the new concept of micro planning using the lens of core urban, peri-urban and rural zones. Blair appreciated that the entire agenda of development will be achieved through sustainability principles.
He took particular interest in flagship initiatives like Bharat Future City, Young India Skills University and Young India Sports University. Minister for Irrigation and Civil Supplies, Uttam Kumar Reddy, MPs Raghuveer Reddy and Mallu Ravi, Advisor to the Government Jitender Reddy, Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan and Secretary (Coordination), Gaurav Uppal were present.

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad district Collector Harichandana Dasari on Sunday introduced a dedicated WhatsApp-based grievance redressal system to make public administration more accessible and responsive. Citizens can now register complaints by sending a message to 74166 87878, eliminating the need to physically attend the weekly Prajavani programme or navigate the official portal. The initiative is aimed at easing the process for senior citizens, people with disabilities and working individuals, allowing them to raise issues from the comfort of their homes. Each complaint will be automatically logged into the Prajavani portal, assigned a unique ID for tracking and forwarded to the relevant department. Complainants will also receive SMS alerts and a time-bound Action Taken Report. Officials said the move would enhance the outreach and efficiency of the Prajavani system, ensuring greater convenience and transparency. Ideological politics being edged out by ‘Swiggy politics': CM Revanth Reddy
HYDERABAD: Stating that ideology-based politics was disappearing from the country's political landscape, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday expressed concern that they were gradually being replaced by what he described as 'Swiggy politics.' 'The number of leaders committed to ideology is declining in our politics. This is a danger to democracy. The country is moving rapidly towards instability, with political managers taking centrestage and democratic values weakening,' he said. The chief minister was speaking at an event jointly organised by ICFAI and the Capital Foundation Society in Hyderabad, where he presented the Jaipal Reddy Democracy Award to economist Mohan Guruswamy. Addressing the gathering, Revanth stressed the need for ideological student politics in universities and said efforts must be made to curb the role of money in politics. 'We are gradually increasing the number of Assembly sitting days. In the last 18 months, not a single MLA has been suspended,' he said. Paying tribute to Jaipal Reddy, Revanth said that the late leader played a key role in national politics and remained in public life until his last breath. 'As a Union minister, he was instrumental in shaping policies and legislation. His oratory skills earned him the Best Parliamentarian Award,' Revanth said.

CM Revanth Reddy felicitates Kargil War hero Col Joy Dasgupta
HYDERABAD: On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy felicitated Colonel Joy Dasgupta of the 18 Grenadiers, one of Hyderabad's distinguished Kargil war heroes. Col Dasgupta, who was a Major during the Kargil War, played a key role in Operation Tololing — a mission to capture Tololing Hill, a critical strategic height then under the control of Pakistani forces. The enemy's position on Tololing, which overlooks National Highway 1A, posed a severe threat to operational logistics in the entire theatre, including Batalik, Turtuk, and Kargil. The 18 Grenadiers, tasked with reclaiming the post, launched multi-pronged attacks and successfully captured Tololing. For his exceptional bravery during the operation, Col Dasgupta was awarded the Sena Medal. A native of Hyderabad, Col Dasgupta completed his intermediate education at Wesley College, graduated from Osmania University, and received military training from the Officers' Training Academy, Chennai, before being commissioned into the Indian Army in May 1995. He was entrusted with leading two Army companies during the operation. Accompanied by his octogenarian mother, Col Dasgupta discussed with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy various ways the state government could inspire and support more youth to join the armed forces.
