Heisman Trophy winners Mark Ingram, Cam Newton and Robert Griffin III and former AP National Player of the Year Ndamukong Suh are on the ballot for the 2026 College Football Hall of Fame class.
The National Football Foundation released the ballot Monday for the class that will be announced in January. It includes 79 players and nine coaches from the Football Bowl Subdivision and 100 players and 35 coaches from lower levels.

Ingram became Alabama's first Heisman winner in 2009 after running for 1,658 yards and 20 touchdowns. Newton in 2010 was just the third player in FBS history with 20 passing and 20 rushing touchdowns. Griffin in 2011 led the nation in points responsible for and ranked second in total offense.
Suh was a force for Nebraska in 2009 and became the first defensive lineman in 15 seasons to be named a finalist for the Heisman Trophy. He finished fourth in voting but was honored as the nation's top player by The Associated Press.
Among other players on the ballot are Iowa's Brad Banks, Colorado's Eric Bieniemy, Oklahoma State's Dez Bryant, Penn State's Ki-Jana Carter, Pittsburgh's Aaron Donald, Syracuse's Marvin Harrison, Oklahoma's Josh Heupel, Ohio State's James Laurinaitis, Washington State's Ryan Leaf, California's Marshawn Lynch, Illinois' Simeon Rice and Florida State's Peter Warrick.
Among coaches on the ballot are Larry Coker, Gary Patterson and Chris Petersen.

Coker led the Canes to consecutive national championship games and won the 2002 Rose Bowl to become the first rookie head coach to lead his team to a title since 1948. Patterson is TCU's all-time wins leader who led the Horned Frogs to six AP top 10 final rankings. Petersen is Boise State's all-time wins leader who led the Broncos to two undefeated seasons and led Washington to the 2016 College Football Playoff.
The NFF also announced an adjustment to the eligibility criteria for coaches to be considered for induction. The minimum career winning percentage required for coaching eligibility will go from .600 to .595 beginning in 2027.
The change would make Mike Leach eligible. Leach, who died in 2022, had a .596 winning percentage with a 158-107 record over 21 seasons at Texas Tech, Washington State and Mississippi State.
Leach was known for his innovative wide-open offenses and his knack for pulling upsets. He won 18 games against Top 25 opponents when his team was unranked.

Judge homers twice to reach 30, Chisholm has 4 RBIs, Stroman wins in return as Yanks beat A's 12-5

NEW YORK (AP) — Aaron Judge homered twice to reach 30 for the sixth time and Jazz Chisholm Jr. also drove in four runs as Marcus Stroman won in his first start for the New York Yankees since April, a 12-5 romp over the Athletics on Sunday. Judge hit two-run homers in the fourth inning off Luis Severino and in the seventh against fellow Fresno, California-area native Tyler Ferguson for his 44th multi-homer game. Cody Bellinger added a three-run drive for the Yankees, who took two of three from the A's for only their second series win in 2 1/2 weeks. Severino (2-9) was chased with a 7-0 deficit in his Yankee Stadium return, hurt by a leaky defense. He has given up 15 runs in two starts against New York this year. Chisholm put the Yankees ahead in the second with his third homer in four games and boosted the lead with 4-0 with a bases-loaded triple in a four-run third. Chisholm is hitting .318 with six homers, 18 RBIs and four stolen bases since returning from strained right oblique on June 3. He appeared to hurt his right hand while trying to check a swing in the sixth but stayed in the game. Stroman (1-1), who had been sidelined by left knee inflammation, won for the first time since last Aug. 30. He allowed three hits, including Willie MacIver's fifth-inning homer. Severino, a two-time All-Star for the Yankees from 2015-23, allowed seven runs — six earned — five hits, three walks, two hitter batters, a wild pitch and two home runs. Yankees shortstop Anthony Volpe was ejected for the first time after an inning-ending strikeout in the eighth, by first base umpire Chad Fairchild. Third baseman Max Muncy couldn't see Bellinger's pop that fell in left for a hit in the first, and right fielder Lawrence Butler and second baseman Luis Urías knocked gloves on Trent Grisham's third-inning fly. Center fielder Denzel Clarke didn't cut off Chisholm's third-inning hit, turning a double into a triple. Butler allowed Bellinger's fourth-inning drive to sail just over his glove off the right-field wall and McIver, the catcher, dropped a sixth-inning foul pop. Key stat Severino is 0-7 with a 6.79 ERA at home and 2-2 with a 3.23 ERA on the road. Up next Athletics: LHP Jacob Lopez (2-4, 3.56) starts Monday night's series opener at Tampa Bay, which goes with RHP Drew Rasmussen (7-5, 2.45). ___

NBA free agent Malik Beasley under investigation regarding gambling allegations

DETROIT — NBA free agent Malik Beasley is under investigation by the U.S. District Attorney's office regarding gambling allegations tied to league games, a person familiar with the situation told The Associated Press on Sunday. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to comment on the matter. 'We are cooperating with the federal prosecutors' investigation,' NBA spokesman Mike Bass said in a statement released to the AP and other outlets on Sunday. ESPN was the first to report on the investigation. 'There have been no charges against Malik,' Steve Haney, Beasley's attorney, told the AP. 'It's just an investigation at this point. We hope people reserve judgment until he's charged — or if he's charged. It's not uncommon for there to be a federal investigation.' The probe into Beasley comes 14 months after the NBA banned Toronto's Jontay Porter, who was linked to a prop bet investigation and eventually pleaded guilty to committing wire fraud. This past season, The Wall Street Journal was first to report that Terry Rozier — then of the Charlotte Hornets — was under investigation for activity related to unusual betting patterns surrounding him in a March 2023 game. Rozier, now of the Miami Heat, has not been charged with any crime, nor has he faced any sanction from the NBA. Porter's ban came after a similar investigation into his performance and 'prop bets' — wagers where bettors can choose whether a player will reach a certain statistical standard or not during a game. The Porter investigation started once the league learned from 'licensed sports betting operators and an organization that monitors legal betting markets' about unusual gambling patterns surrounding Porter's performance in a game on March 20, 2024, against Sacramento. The league determined that Porter gave a bettor information about his own health status prior that game and said that another individual — known to be an NBA bettor — placed an $80,000 bet that Porter would not hit the numbers set for him in parlays through an online sports book. That bet would have won $1.1 million. Beasley signed last year with the Pistons, taking a one-year contract for $6 million in the hopes of cashing in this summer as a free agent. A second person, speaking to AP on condition of anonymity because no deal was announced, said Detroit was 'very interested' in re-signing Beasley to a multi-year contract this summer. Those talks might be in jeopardy, given the uncertainty regarding the federal probe. He made a single-season, franchise-record 319 3-pointers in the regular season. He helped Detroit make the playoffs for the first time since 2019 and end an NBA-record 15-game postseason losing streak in the first round against the New York Knicks. Beasley averaged 16.3 points last season and has averaged 11.7 points over his career with Denver, Minnesota, Utah, the Los Angeles Lakers, Milwaukee and Detroit. He scored a career-high 19.6 points a game during the 2020-21 season with the Timberwolves. The Atlanta native played at Florida State and the Nuggets drafted him No. 19 overall in 2016.

Watch 2026 4-star Texas A&M WR commit make impressive catch in OT7 event

Day 2 @overtime OT7 Finals MVP 2027 QB Derrick Baker plays pitch and catch with 2026 Texas A&M WR commit Aaron Gregory who makes an excellent toe-tapping catch in the back of the endzone. Texas A&M's 2026 wide receiver commits include four-stars Aaron Gregory, Madden Williams, and Mike Brown, who have all shut down their recruitment. The Aggies' future at the position is incredibly bright, and while all three prospects possess elite traits, Gregory is on track to become the next star wide receiver for the Aggies. He has continued to impress on the national circuit this summer. Over the past month, Gregory has participated in several events, including the Rivals Five-Star event in Indianapolis and this week's annual OT7 7x7 Final round, where he has continued to thrive as a route runner and the primary receiver for several young, ascending quarterbacks. In the video provided below, On3 national scout Cody Bellaire caught an excellent shot of 2027 three-star quarterback Derrick Baker finding Gregory on a crossing route in the end zone, as the Georgia native elevated for the touchdown, and, most importantly, coming down with the ball and keeping his feet inbounds. Gregory's athletic profile is similar to that of a former Texas A&M standout wide receiver, Josh Reynolds. However, Gregory is already a better route runner at this stage, meaning he'll likely end up being a starter by his second season in the program. Under WR coach Holmon Wiggins, who has developed several NFL wide receivers, including 2020 Heisman Trophy winner DeVonta Smith, Gregory's potential is through the roof as soon as he steps on campus.
