An Edinburgh cyclist and pedestrian were caught in a heated exchange in the Piershill area of the city.
In a video shared on Facebook, the cyclist can be seen moving down Portobello Road when they arrive at a pedestrian crossing as a man tries to cross during a red light.
The cyclist stops abruptly and comes to verbal blows with the individual. In the video the man walking across the road can be heard saying: "Thanks for your courtesy, it's a red light. What does red light mean?"
In response, the cyclist hits back with: "I see the lights, use a bit of f****** common sense. I see the lights. F*** off, f*** off, f*** off."
In the comments of the video, which has garnered 597 likes and around 1.5k comments, the cyclist who took the video has faced backlash from the public.

One commenter said: "As usual with cyclists, the rules only apply when it suits them."
Responding to this comment, the poster said: "Correct, however, the guy waited until I was just at the light and pressed the button; he had loads of time to cross the 'empty and quiet road' when I was 100m down the road."
Another shocked viewer wrote: "You're literally the reason the rest of us get tarnished with the same brush.
"Doesn't matter when he pressed the button, red light is a red light. You chose to take offence and reacted horribly. When somebody throws insults at you, it's up to you how you take them."
A third added: "Absolutely brilliant I have experienced this countless times and that is always the cyclists reaction .I experience this as a car driver but you have to accept it doesn't matter if they could have crossed earlier it's the rules, how can you argue with these people they think they can do what they want . As a pedestrian I experience this but I'm a different kettle of fish, you will get a very aggressive reaction."

A family friend told Haaretz newspaper that Nathanel was 'just a lovely, sweet boy who was always smiling'. At the time of his death, she said: "Today our sweet Nathan was taken from us and he is young, very young; this has to stop. "Get the soldiers out of there and get the hostages out.
