England batter Harry Brook has drawn immense criticism from former India head coach Ravi Shastri and ex-Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara. Brook, who launched a counter-attack on India following three dismissals on the morning of Day 4 at Lord's, went for a needless audacious sweep just before the end of the session and was beaten for pace by Akash Deep, resulting in him getting cleaned up, giving an ugly conclusion to a wonderful start he got in the 2nd innings at Lord's. He departed after a quick-fire 23 off 19.

Ravi Shastri slams Harry Brook for squandering wonderful start
Defining the shot he played as a 'nothing shot', Shastri went hard on Brook. According to the former India coach, there was no need for the English batter to take that risk as he had fetched two boundaries in the over. Shastri insisted that Brook should put a price on his wicket and understand its importance.
'Brook can be destructive - the impact he wanted to make with those two reverse sweeps, he did that. But I think he is too good a player to put his wicket at risk at that stage of the game. It was a nothing shot. He was only going to get one run even if he connected. The risk element was huge,' said Shastri on Sky Sports' broadcast during lunch break.

Sangakkara throws massive flak on Harry Brook
Former Sri Lanka captain, Kumar Sangakkara shared similar sentiments, calling it a moment of 'arrogance' rather than confidence or tactical aggression.
'Brook has scooped, and they've given him a gap, so flick it. I think it's a bit of arrogance, not even overconfidence, it's not even Bazball, it's just arrogance. You're counter-attacking and that is a big, big mistake,' he said.
While it was somewhat irresponsible from Harry Brook, India won't mind. Brook was beginning to look threatening but his wicket gave India the respite. In the hindsight, his dismissal could go down as the turning point in the game, should India go on to win the match.

Chelsea thrash PSG 3-0 to clinch FIFA Club World Cup 2025 title; becomes first English team to win tournament twice

Chelsea Football Club made history by securing the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 title with a dominant 3-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. This victory marks Chelsea as the first English team to win the prestigious tournament twice, following their 2021 victory. The match showcased Chelsea's attacking prowess, powered by England international Cole Palmer and the club's new signing Joao Pedro. Cole Palmer was brilliant in the final clash against PSG. He delivered a masterclass in the first half. The 23-year-old opened the scoring in the 22nd minute when he shot the ball past PSG's goalkeeper. Just seven minutes later, in the 30th minute, Palmer struck again, doubling Chelsea's lead and asserting dominance. Adding to Chelsea's commanding gameplay, Joao Pedro joined the club mid-tournament from Brighton, putting the game beyond doubt in the 43rd minute. His goal, a powerful strike, capped a relentless first-half performance by the Blues. The 3-0 scoreline reflected Chelsea's control, as PSG failed to convert meaningful chances against a strong Chelsea defense. Chelsea's victory adds to their storied legacy in the FIFA Club World Cup, which began in 2000. Chelsea have become the only English club to lift the trophy twice, surpassing Manchester United, Liverpool, and Manchester City, each of them have one title. Their previous win came in 2021 against Palmeiras. 'India are winning tomorrow': Washington Sundar exudes confidence about India's win at Lord's on Day 5

Chasing 193, Team India lost four wickets in the final session of Day 4. A thrilling chase is set to unfold on Day 5 as the visitors still need 135 more runs to win the Lord's Test. read more Despite ending Day 4 in a precarious position at 58/4, all-rounder Washington Sundar has expressed firm belief that India will go on to secure victory at the Lord's on Day 5. Chasing 193, Team India needs 135 more runs to take a 2-1 lead over the hosts. Considering the movement England's pacers acquired in the final hour of Day 4, it is set to be a long road ahead for India, but with the likes of Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Sundar, still to come, and KL Rahul still unbeaten in the middle, the visitors will fancy their chances on the concluding day of the 3rd Test. 'Definitely, India (are) winning tomorrow. Probably just after Lunch,' Sundar stated. 'Yeah, the position we're in right now, probably for one (wicket) at Stumps today would have been ideal,' he added. 'But the way we bowled, all the fast bowlers in particular, the way they came out today, kept the pressure going throughout the day, it was amazing.' Elaborating on India's day out with the ball, Sundar added, 'Definitely, we all did (expect the pitch to assist). Especially with the hard ball. We expected a little bit of seam movement and also a little bit of up and down as well. 'The way Siraj bowled and Akash Deep's spell to get Brook's out, he was looking a little aggressive and we didn't want to give too many runs in that phase of play. But yeah, most of it turned our way. 'The way both of us bowled today was very heartening - myself and Jadeja. The plan was not to give out too many runs because the fast bowlers are always going to be in the play.' Sundar also paid heed to the impact amplified by Jasprit Bumrah, and how he helped put pressure from one end to assist him with the wicket of England captain Ben Stokes. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD 'The fact that Bumrah was bowling from the other end definitely helped. The moment Bumrah came in, I knew he (Stokes) was going to do something different and in that over the first ball he went for a slog. And it all worked out well.'
