'Israeli' army arrests ‘Iranian cell' in southern Syria
According to the army, forces from Brigade 474 of the 210th Division conducted the operation in the Umm Al-Luqas and Ain Al-Basali areas, targeting a group of militants reportedly mobilized by Iran. The operation involved field investigators from Unit 504, which specializes in intelligence gathering.
The army stated that the operation was based on intelligence collected over recent weeks, resulting in the arrest of several cell members and the seizure of weapons and hand grenades at the targeted site.
The 'Israeli' military emphasized it will continue efforts to prevent the establishment of what it called "terrorist entities" on Syrian territory, stressing that these operations aim to protect the security of 'Israeli' residents, particularly those living in the Golan Heights.
