IDF 'Alpine' Unit raids Syrian Assad-era command posts to prevent weapons smuggling
Reservists of the IDF's 810th Brigade have uncovered command posts, over three tons of ammunition leftover from Assad's regime on the Syrian side of Mount Hermon. Reservists in the IDF's 810th 'Alpine Brigade,' under the command of the 210th Division, raided Assad-era command posts on Mount Hermon over the past week in an effort to prevent attempts to smuggle weapons, the IDF said Sunday. These command posts were responsible for overseeing the Syria-Lebanon region during Assad's regime. In addition to their mission in the Mount Dov sector, the unit has discovered military equipment and more than three tons of ammunition, including anti-tank mines, dozens of explosives, and rockets. The IDF confiscated all findings. These raids in the area of the Syria-Lebanon border to prevent smuggling attempts between the two countries are done in order to uphold the security of Israeli citizens and residents of the Golan Heights in particular.' Earlier this month, the IDF's elite 504 unit aided in the arrest of an Iranian terror cell operating in southern Syria, as they continue to operate in the region, reaffirming their commitment to protecting Israeli citizens at all costs. 'Israeli' army arrests ‘Iranian cell' in southern Syria
'Israeli' army announced on Wednesday that it arrested what it described as an "Iranian cell" during a special military operation carried out last night in southern Syria, in cooperation with field intelligence units. According to the army, forces from Brigade 474 of the 210th Division conducted the operation in the Umm Al-Luqas and Ain Al-Basali areas, targeting a group of militants reportedly mobilized by Iran. The operation involved field investigators from Unit 504, which specializes in intelligence gathering. The army stated that the operation was based on intelligence collected over recent weeks, resulting in the arrest of several cell members and the seizure of weapons and hand grenades at the targeted site. The 'Israeli' military emphasized it will continue efforts to prevent the establishment of what it called "terrorist entities" on Syrian territory, stressing that these operations aim to protect the security of 'Israeli' residents, particularly those living in the Golan Heights.

IDF treats more than 500 wounded Syrian civilians
The majority of those treated have been from the Syrian-Druze community, the military said, explaining the IDF's intention to provide ongoing medical assistance to the population. Troops of the 210th Division and the Medical Corps have treated more than 500 wounded Syrian civilians in the area of Hader in southern Syria over the past few weeks, the IDF announced on Wednesday. The civilians received treatment from a mobile forward facility. The majority of those treated have been from the Syrian-Druze community, the military said, explaining the IDF's intention to provide ongoing medical assistance to the population. In previous weeks, the IDF has also evacuated severely wounded Syrian-Druze to Israel for more advanced treatment at the Ziv Medical Center in Safed. The military stressed that Syria would have an ongoing IDF presence as part of efforts to ensure the security of residents of the Golan Heights, create a forward security zone and provide aid to the local population. Israeli Army Organizes ‘Hiking Tours' for Jewish Settlers in Occupied Syria
The Israeli army is organizing hiking tours for civilians inside recently occupied Syrian territory during the upcoming Passover holiday, according to Israeli media reports. The tours, coordinated by the Israeli military's Northern Command and 210th Division alongside the 'Friends on Excursions' group, are supported by the Golan Heights Settlements Council and the Israeli Nature and Parks Authority. Participants, who must receive special permits, will be escorted by Israeli troops as they travel up to 2.5 kilometers into Syrian land, near the village of Maaraba. Tour highlights include visits to Wadi al-Ruqad (a tributary of the Yarmouk River), the Hejaz Railway Tunnel, and the Shebaa Farms – a contested strip of Lebanese territory occupied by Israel at the base of Mount Hermon. Though registration has closed, the army said additional tours may be offered depending on the security situation. The excursions mark the first Israeli civilian presence in areas of Syria recently taken over by Israeli forces following the fall of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in December. In recent months, Israel has intensified airstrikes on Syrian military bases and moved beyond the Golan Heights' demilitarized buffer zone, occupying strategic areas like Mount Hermon in violation of the 1974 disengagement agreement. Initial Israeli security plans reportedly envisioned a 15-km demilitarized zone and a broader 60-km zone of influence inside Syria. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has since called for the complete demilitarization of southern Syria, declaring that Israeli troops would remain in the Golan buffer zone and Mount Hermon indefinitely to block Syrian army access south of Damascus. Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has openly expressed support for expanding Israel's borders beyond Palestinian territories, hinting at ambitions for a 'Greater Israel' encompassing parts of neighboring Arab countries, including as far as Damascus. In a French documentary, Israel: Extremists in Power, Smotrich endorsed a Jewish state governed by Jewish values and smiled when asked if Israeli sovereignty should extend beyond the Jordan River. He referenced a biblical prophecy about Jerusalem stretching 'until Damascus.' While the Israeli government maintains its official goal as defeating Hezbollah, Smotrich's comments—and settler support—raise concerns about broader expansionist intentions in Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and beyond. Passover holiday: Israel turns Syrian territory into tourist attraction
Shafaq News / On Friday, the Israeli army announced that it will open a restricted military zone inside Syrian territory to 'organized tourist visits' during the upcoming Passover holiday. The army noted that the tours will be coordinated with the Northern Command, the 210th Division, the Israel Nature and Parks Authority, and local educational and regional organizations, including the Keshet Yehonatan Educational Center and the Golan Field School. According to Israeli media outlets, visitors will be allowed to explore scenic areas along the Yarmouk River and access military observation posts in zones captured during recent operations in southwestern Syria. The initiative, scheduled to run through the Passover holiday ending April 19, comes after Israel's expanded military presence beyond the disengagement line near Mount Hermon, following the collapse of al-Assad regime in December 2024.
