The planned offering follows its recent shift of domicile back to India.Pine Labs was founded in 1998 by Lokvir Kapoor, Rajul Garg and Tarun Upadhyay. Originally a loyalty and card-based payments solution, the company pivoted in the late 2000s to focus on merchant payments.Pine Labs had confidentially filed for a US IPO in 2022, aiming to raise $500 million. However, it deferred the plan due to market volatility.Backed by Peak XV Partners, Alpha Wave PayPal , and Vitruvian Partners , the company has steadily expanded into online payments, buy now, pay later (BNPL), account aggregation, and gift cards. It has used acquisitions such as Fave, Setu Mosambee , and Qwikcilver to fuel this expansion.Meanwhile, Meesho is planning to confidentially file for its IPO in the next few weeks, according to a Bloomberg report. The SoftBank-backed etailer is looking to raise $700–800 million from the public offering. The company converted into a 'public limited' entity from a 'private limited' one, ET had reported on June 10 . However, it may not need to spend heavily on brand building, given the groundwork already laid by incumbents Zomato and Swiggy.Zomato and Swiggy remain deeply entrenched within both the restaurant and customer base, and Rapido poses only a limited threat, Kotak Institutional Equities noted. As the rollout is currently limited to Bengaluru, Bernstein expects no material impact on overall market share.A rapid food delivery scale-up by Rapido, potentially driven by aggressive discounts, could dent the financials of Zomato and Swiggy. In turn, the incumbents are likely to respond cautiously to protect their margins, said Karan Taurani of Elara Capital.Zomato and Swiggy currently enjoy take rates that are well above those of their global peers, according to HSBC Research. Kotak expects this metric to remain steady given the sector's muted growth outlook.Even so, Rapido and other challengers are unlikely to pose a threat to the incumbents' take rates.ETtech Top 5 and Morning Dispatch are must-reads for India's tech and business leaders, including startup founders, investors, policy makers, industry insiders and employees.Interested? In the fifth year of CM Dhami's tenure, tax recovery in Uttarakhand is set for a major tech upgrade
Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami (ANI) As chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami enters the fifth year of his tenure, the tax collection landscape in Uttarakhand is poised for a significant transformation. The state's tax system is being enhanced with the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI), aimed at making collections more efficient and robust. A proposal worth Rs 12 crore from the State Tax Department has received in-principle approval. The use of AI is expected to boost collections under both SGST (State Goods and Services Tax) and VAT (Value Added Tax). According to IS Brijwal, Additional Commissioner of the State Tax Department, efforts are underway — under the chief minister's directive — to further streamline and modernize the tax collection system. A comprehensive framework has already been prepared. While the department has already been leveraging technology, it is now preparing to implement AI-based systems. The government has given its in-principle nod to the department's proposal, and AI-based systems will soon become a reality in the state's revenue machinery. Promising signs in just three months In the first quarter of the current financial year, the department has already recorded encouraging results. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Secure Your Child's Future with Strong English Fluency Planet Spark Learn More Undo SGST collections have reached Rs 2,457 crore — 22% of the annual target for FY 2025–26. VAT collections for the same period stand at Rs 658 crore, achieving 26% of the annual target. Combined, these figures show the department has achieved 23% of its total target within the first three months of the year. Target of Rs 13,722 crore for FY 2025–26 The State Tax Department has set an ambitious revenue collection target of Rs 13,722 crore for this financial year — Rs 11,221 crore from SGST and Rs 2,501 crore from VAT. In comparison, the previous year's target was Rs 12,703 crore (Rs 10,200 crore from SGST and Rs 2,503 crore from VAT). The department achieved 93% of the total target last year, with VAT collection even surpassing the goal by reaching 102%. 'We are strengthening the tax collection system in the interest of the state. Our goal is to ensure that the revenue collected through taxes is maximised and effectively used for public welfare initiatives," CM Dhami said.

Land pooling for Indore-Pithampur Economic Corridor starts
Indore: Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) has announced the commencement of land pooling for the proposed 19.60 km Indore-Pithampur Economic Corridor, which will have commercial and industrial activities on its both sides. The infrastructure project aims to enhance connectivity between Pithampur, airport, and other key urban areas, thereby promoting commercial and industrial activities in the state. MPIDC, Indore executive director Himanshu Prajapati said, "The layout for the proposed 19.60 km Indore-Pithampur Economic Corridor has been finalised, and with this, the process of land pooling has started. Consents for more than 250 acre reached us, and we are actively collecting documents from the landowners. " The corridor, stretching 20 km in length and 75 metre in width, will encompass both govt and private lands, with an expected extension of 300 metre on either side. The project carries an estimated cost exceeding Rs 2,400 crore. MPIDC has published the plot numbers of lands from 17 villages, including Kordiabardi, Nainod, Rinjalay, Bisnavada, Navadapanth, Shriram Talavali, Sindoda, Sindodi, Shivkheda, Narlay, Mokalay, Dehri, Sonvay, Bhainslay, Bagoda, Tihi, and Dhannad. Under the Land Pooling Act, there is currently a provision to return 50 per cent of the land to its owners. However, for the Economic Corridor, chief minister Mohan Yadav in March announced the allocation of 60 per cent of the total developed land to the farmers. "As the land acquisition process gains momentum, anticipation builds around the potential economic benefits that the Indore-Pithampur Economic Corridor will unlock, paving the way for enhanced industrial growth and job creation in the region. The coming months will be crucial as MPIDC continues its efforts to realise this ambitious infrastructure project," said Prajapati.
