The best rooftop bars in Singapore

Time Out6 days ago
What is it? A new rooftop bar on Esplanade Mall's iconic rooftop, occupying a 5,000 sqft space.
Why we love it: The first thing you'll notice at Baia is the view of Marina Bay – plus points if you opt for a seat by the patio. The bar is named after the ancient holiday resort city frequented by the Roman aristocracy, so expect no less than an atmosphere of reverie and celebration, amped up with DJ performances every few days. Baia enlists the help of Proof & Co, the consultancy behind successful venues like 28 HongKong Street, to craft its tipples. Try everything from the Campari-based Strombolian to indulgent blends of aged cognac, espresso and vanilla choco.
Time Out tip: The perfect sundowner comes in the form of a tropical punch bowl to share with friends. Try the Oasis Punch with St. Germain and Prosecco.

Richard Ashcroft announces huge tour update after 'nearly outshining Oasis'

Liam Gallagher said it was never a question that Richard Ashcroft would be joining them on tour after their shared history After embarking upon the biggest stadium tour of the year as special guest to Oasis, and selling out Manchester's Co-op Live, Richard Ashcroft today announces additional UK dates due to overwhelming demand. Richard will perform at arenas in Cardiff, Liverpool, London and Leeds in Spring 2026, with tickets on sale at 9.30am on Friday 1st August. ‌ The announcement follows the news of the October 3rd release date of his brand new album Lovin' You - his first all-new album since 2018's Natural Rebel and follows 2021's Acoustic Hymns, Vol. 1. ‌ Speaking on Radio 2 earlier this month Richard Ashcroft said: 'The album's due in September, just after I finish the dates with Oasis. That'll be coming out in September, and yeah, happy days, we'll see how it goes. I'm buzzing that I'm still here. I'm still making music, people pay me to make music, people pay me to sing live. It's like I can't complain.' ‌ Ashcroft has won huge praise from fans after being picked to join Oasis on their huge sell-out Live 25 tour. Speaking after seeing the band play at Wembley Stadium, David Baddiel said the former Verve frontman gave the Gallaghers a run for their money when it came to entertaining the crowd. Noel has even been spotted watching Ashcroft's sets before walking on stage himself. "Oasis were great tonight. But they were nearly outshone by their support, Richard Ashcroft, in incredible voice: still the Scott Walker of Britpop," Baddiel posted to X. ‌ "Don't think Richard has ever done a bad show," replied one of his followers. "Magnificent," agreed another, while a third said: "It's the absolute dream lineup. Chris Martin said Richard Ashcroft had the best voice going around. Richard Ashcroft and Oasis playing in 2025. It's what the world needs some GOOD THINGS! I can't wait to see them in Australia. Magic. How special to be at Wembley. Brilliant." Responding to Baddiel's video of Ashcroft singing The Drug's Don't Work, another X user replied: "This was a real moment in Manchester too. Something about that song still felt fresh / in the room as it were. The Oasis tunes being great, but definitely a stronger nostalgic tinge to them." Richard Ashcroft and Oasis share a mutual admiration which dates back to touring together before Oasis first broke through. The Adventures of the Little People Group, run by Hilltown-based charity Front Lounge, designed vinyl prints for Front Lounge's five windows. Adventures of the Little People is Front Lounge's after-school club attended by primary school children aged between five and twelve. The group enjoys games and a hot meal provided by resident chef Charley Griffin. Louise Kirby Louise, who has transformed many local public spaces through art, said: 'We worked around the charity's themes of aspiration and hope, from what adventures they'd love to go on to what they'd like to do when they're older. It was lovely to see them all collaborating and having fun with their ideas. 'We then used different techniques to engage them, from painting and mark-making to mood boards and looking at shapes, but all driven by their interests and imaginations, whether it's space, palm trees, racing cars or lions! "For those who couldn't attend in person, we got them involved through worksheets to enjoy at home. It was amazing to see their imaginations come to life. In the process, we've transformed a patch of the Hilltown for the wider community to enjoy.' Having local children support the transformation with vibrant colour has been significant, instilling a deep sense of pride in everyone who uses the space. Louise Kirby (far left), Charley Griffin and daughters, Chika Inatimi and Christie Wanless "It now mirrors the energy and spirit of Front Lounge, and marks a bold step forward as we evolve into a dedicated learning centre. Most importantly, this transformation has changed how the wider community sees and engages with the building, helping to make Hilltown a more vibrant place to live, work, and connect." Front Lounge Development Worker and mum-of-two Amy Deans added: 'Too many children are missing out on the social aspects of life. Some families can't afford to send their children to activities and clubs, while others might feel anxious and lack confidence. 'We know through many other projects we run that isolation can lead to poor mental health so we wanted to do something to offset this before these children get any older. As we often do at Front Lounge, we turned to creativity, which has an amazing power to change lives and build confidence. The charity's motto is Life is Big: Be All You Can Be, and that thinking has come through loud and clear on our new windows!'
