Ludhiana: Gunshots fired at realtor's SUV, probe initiated
The incident came to light only after the property dealer, Bhagwant Singh, reported it to the police on Saturday, two days after the incident, raising questions about the delay. The Ladhowal police, currently investigating the case, have described the situation as suspicious and are examining it from all possible angles.
According to Bhagwant Singh's statement, the incident occurred around 12.35 am on May 29. He claimed that he was alerted by a neighbour who heard gunshots in the village. Upon checking from the rooftop, Bhagwant Singh said he didn't see anyone and went back inside. It was only the next morning that he noticed bullet marks on his car and informed the police.
Inspector Gurshinder Kaur, SHO at Ladhowal police station, along with a police team, reached the site and began an investigation. CCTV footage from nearby houses is being reviewed. According to preliminary findings, the same two men on a motorcycle fired the first shot at the property dealer's gate and returned four minutes later to fire a second round before fleeing.
The police have also started examining the call details of the property dealer and have involved a forensic team to inspect the bullet trajectory and impact on the vehicle. 'While no threat has been reported by the complainant, we are not ruling out any possibility. The timing of the complaint makes the case unusual,' said SHO Gurshinder Kaur.
The SHO added that an FIR under sections 125 of BNS, sections 25, 54 and 59 of Arms act has been lodged against unidentified accused.

Gunshots fired at Faridabad house over old rivalry
Gurgaon: Two individuals fired multiple gunshots at a house in Tilpat village, Faridabad, around midnight on Tuesday, over a longstanding rivalry. Palla police have booked Nitin Rohatkiya along with an unidentified person for the incident. They initially stopped near the house, moved ahead, but returned to discharge their firearms. After spotting Prakash and an initial malfunction of the firearms, the accused in yellow attire fired multiple shots, none of which struck the target. The accused subsequently fled the scene. Neighbours, alerted by the gunshots, gathered and reported to the police, sharing the CCTV footage with the police. Crime branch and forensic teams arrived at the location and recovered two bullet shells. Speaking to the media, Prakash stated that Rohatkiya was involved in several such crimes in the area and criticised the police for insufficient action against him. "He has over two dozen criminal cases and was jailed four times but he is roaming freely," he said. A neighbour, Jai Bhagwan Sharma, expressed serious concerns about residents' safety in the area. "We were sleeping while my father watched the suspects through the CCTV. After they fired, he raised an alarm following which we got out of the house but the accused escaped. This is not his first such act. We all are concerned about our safety in such a lawless situation," he said. Sub inspector Yashpal, Faridabad police spokesperson, stated that the accused were booked under Section 109 of BNS for attempted murder and under relevant sections of the Arms Act. He added that the exact motive behind the firing would be determined after the accused are apprehended.

4 fire at trader's car in extortion bid, arrested in Faridabad
Gurgaon: Four men, allegedly involved in firing at a shopkeeper's car and demanding Rs 5 lakh in extortion, were arrested on Tuesday from Ballabgarh. Those arrested include Devendra (36), Bunty (28), Monu (23), and Uday (20), all residents of Ballabgarh. According to Faridabad police, Mayank, a resident of Arya Nagar, had filed a complaint at the Agrasen Chowk police post, stating that after returning home on the night of July 27, he heard gunshots and found a bullet hole in the driver's side window of his car. Soon after, his brother received a WhatsApp message from Devendra alias Kalu, demanding Rs 5 lakh and threatening to kill them if the money wasn't paid. Police said Bunty fired the shot, Devendra supplied the weapon, Monu owned the Fronx car, and Uday assisted the others. The vehicle used in the crime has been recovered. All four were produced in court and sent to a four-day police remand. Devendra has 10 past cases, including under the Arms Act and for assault, and was released from jail earlier this year. "Background checks on the others are underway," an officer said. "The case is under investigation. We are also examining whether the accused are linked to any other criminal activities in the region," the officer added.

Class XII student kidnapped outside school in Noida, man arrested
Noida: A 19-year-old man was arrested for kidnapping a class 12 student outside her school on Wednesday. The girl was later rescued. The incident occurred outside the school in Gijhaur village, Sector 53. The accused Monu Yadav is a former student of the school and was expelled due to poor attendance. On Wednesday, a school official informed Sector 24 police on the 112 emergency helpline that the accused forcibly took a student in his car. The incident was captured on CCTV cameras, and the footage later went viral on social media. Officials arrested the accused at Parthala Chowk. The car was also recovered.
