The shocked winner of the entire $30 million Powerball jackpot has been identified, revealing he had played the same numbers for years.
When the Queensland retiree was contacted by an official from The Lott on Friday morning he had not even checked his tickets and was understandably stunned — given the biggest prize he'd ever previously won was an Easter basket.
'Holy sh**! Wow. Unbelievable!' he told them.
'Oh, my goodness. Words can't explain how I'm feeling right now. Dear, dear, dear.'
As the Wynnum grandfather tries to let the reality of the life-changing windfall settle in, he is already planning how he'll spend his winnings.
'This does so much for my family. It'll set up my kids and grandkids.'
'Never in a million years did I think I would get this call.
'I'm retired myself. I've lived a happy life, and I've been lucky enough to tick most things off my bucket list, so this will be used more for helping others.
'I just can't believe it. I had absolutely no idea. The most I've ever won is a chocolate Easter basket!
'These are my numbers I've played for years. I chose them a long time ago now. I usually play Saturday Gold Lotto, but sometimes I play Powerball when it has a higher jackpot.
'It's funny because I also bought a Set for Life ticket and thought, 'Wow, it'd be nice to get that', but this is even better!

The man held the only division one winning entry nationally and can look forward to a whopping $31,140,405.47 hitting is bank account.
He bought his winning marked PowerHit entry via The Lott website.
The winning numbers in Powerball draw 1523 on Thursday 24 July 2025 were 2, 25, 6, 4, 31, 34 and 19. The all-important Powerball number was 20.

Another of Saturday's division one wins went to a group of friends from southwestern Sydney. The four mates, who have been friends for three decades, entered as a private syndicate and have won $1,071,428.57 each. The syndicate leader said the four mates would 'help all our families'. 'It's a group of us that won,' he said. 'We've been friends for over 30 years. It'll be split four ways. 'It's funny thinking about how we used to hang out together and play together, and now we've won this together.'

$30m Saturday Megadraw: Winning numbers, luckiest suburbs revealed
Australia's luckiest suburbs for winning the lottery have been revealed ahead of the $30m Saturday Megadraw. More than 533 winners won a collective $1.69bn in the 24-25 financial year, with the most player wins (152) and most prize money ($532.3m) being shared between Victoria and NSW respectively, according to The Lott.
