A new-look Odafe Oweh steals the spotlight at Ravens OTAs

Yahoo29-05-2025

The last time we saw Odafe Oweh on the football field, he was closing the book on a phenomenal 2024 season. He had tallied 39 tackles, ten sacks, and a forced fumble for the Baltimore Ravens during the 17 games of an AFC North-winning campaign.
He was impressive during the Wild Card Round, notching two tackles, a sack, and three additional QB hits vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers on 26 snaps. Unfortunately, he didn't play as well one week later.

He notched one tackle on 21 snaps vs. the Buffalo Bills during the Divisional Round, but most of Baltimore's roster didn't play up to their standards on that evening. Last January's loss to the Bills was deflating, but it was clear Oweh had taken another step. Four months later, he's back and seemingly looking to prove a point.
A bulked-up Odafe Oweh has shown up to Ravens OTAs.
OTAs aren't mandatory, but many of Baltimore's stars were in attendance for the second day of work. It's great to see everyone, as this feels like a team that has already bought into the goals of the coming season.
Odafe Oweh was hard to miss. He has added some mass. He's gone from the 245-pound frame we saw last January to 265 pounds, but he still feels just as explosive.
"(It will help in stopping) the run, and then, obviously, the top of my rush, not being able to be pushed off the point, digging out the rip. And then obviously [with] power as well." Thank the official team site for the quote. Those were the words of a reinvigorated Oweh, who still hasn't forgotten to use last year's disappointing loss as fuel.

"I didn't have the outing I wanted, so I thought a lot of that had to do with my weight and being able to be stout in certain positions. So, as soon as the season was done, I went to Miami, started eating, lifting, and then gaining weight, basically."
Opposing offensive lines, beware. Oweh is on a mission, and he's bringing a ticked-off Ravens team with him.

7 Ravens who could be first-time Pro Bowlers in 2025

Isaiah Likely and Odafe Oweh are among the Baltimore Ravens who could earn first Pro Bowl nod in 2025 Training camp is in the air, and John Harbaugh's team has very few holes on both sides of the football. Still, several key positions will see competition, and a breakout campaign from an under-the-radar player could help ignite a run to the Super Bowl in Santa Clara. You can add ever-growing expectations for Zach Orr's defense, which has added elite talent at all three levels throughout free agency, the NFL draft, and Jaire Alexander's signing. With training camp fast approaching, we're looking at seven Ravens who could earn their first Pro Bowl nod in 2025. OL Daniel Faalele Faalele won the starting right guard job out of training camp and played every single offensive snap in every game last year. According to Pro Football Focus (PFF), Faalele surrendered one sack and 32 pressures in 578 pass-blocking opportunities in the previous season. Faalele needs to improve as a run-blocker. TE Isaiah Likely Likely caught four of five targets for 73 yards and a touchdown in the Ravens' 27-25 divisional-round loss to the Bills. An ascending player who could be the most dynamic weapon on offense, Likely recorded 126 receiving yards during the playoffs, and he had a career-best 42 catches for 477 yards and six touchdowns. Likely will play out the final year of his rookie contract in 2025, but a Pro Bowl could be in the cards. WR Rashod Bateman Rashod Bateman trusted the process, and the former Minnesota All-American has found his groove with the Ravens, signing a multi-year contract extension for the second consecutive off-season. After producing the best season of his career, Rashod Bateman has agreed to a 3-year, $36.75 million contract extension with the Baltimore Ravens. The move comes nearly a year after the Ravens signed Bateman to a three-year contract extension eight days before the deadline for exercising his 5th-year option. The 2024 season was his most impactful regular season since getting drafted by Baltimore, with career highs in receiving yards (756) and touchdowns (nine) on the second-highest catch total of his career (45) across 17 games. Bateman was signed through the 2026 season. Bateman was the only player in the NFL last season to average at least 16 yards per reception and catch nine or more touchdowns. OL Roger Rosengarten Rosengarten was the ninth tackle selected in last April's NFL draft, and he earned a spot on the Pro Football Writers of America All-Rookie team. Rosengarten and No. 5-overall pick Joe Alt of the Los Angeles Chargers were the all-rookie offensive tackles. After alternating snaps in the first three weeks, Rosengarten took over as the Ravens' starting right tackle in Week 4 and never looked back, starting 16 games (including the playoffs). Among offensive tackles who played at least 50% of the snaps, Rosengarten ranked No. 39 at his position, according to Pro Football Focus (PFF). He was credited with four sacks allowed in 488 pass-blocking snaps. OLB Odafe Oweh Oweh has yet to make the Pro Bowl, but that could change this season. Oweh, who added 20 pounds of muscle this offseason, is the Ravens' player most likely to be a first-time Pro Bowler in 2025. Last year, the former first-round pick had the most productive year of his career, logging ten sacks while recording 23 quarterback hits, 12 quarterback knockdowns, and 28 pressures. CB Nate Wiggins Wiggins had a solid debut with 33 tackles, an interception returned for a touchdown, 13 pass breakups, and a forced fumble. DB Malaki Starks A Swiss army knife who has already taken on a leadership role, Starks will be a Day 1 starter and will have plenty of opportunities to make his case for Defensive Rookie of the Year. Starks played three seasons for the Bulldogs, recording 197 total tackles, 17 pass deflections, and six interceptions in his collegiate career. In the 2024 season, he had 77 total tackles, four for loss, and one interception. He was an All-American in 2023.

Ravens Icon Justin Tucker's Agent Speaks Out On Major NFL Announcement

Ravens Icon Justin Tucker's Agent Speaks Out On Major NFL Announcement originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Baltimore Ravens finally made the decision, as kicker Justin Tucker was accused of sexual misconduct by several Baltimore-area massage therapists, to release the iconic All-Pro. Advertisement Now, the NFL has announced Tucker's punishment - and Tucker's side isn't very happy about it. Tucker, 35, is suspended without pay for the first 10 weeks of the 2025 season for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy. In response, the following statement has been released by Tucker's representative Rob Roche ... "We are disappointed with the NFL's decision. Justin has always strived to carry himself in a way that would make his family and community proud. He stands by his previous statements. In order to put this difficult episode behind him and get back on the field as soon as possible, we have advised Justin to accept this resolution and close this matter. Advertisement "The people who know Justin best know his character and understand that while he remains fully committed to excellence as a football player, he is deeply dedicated to his most important lifetime roles as a father, husband, and friend.' In the league's press release, the suspension will take effect on roster cut day, August 26 and he will be eligible for reinstatement on November 11. Tucker is currently still a free agent. If he were to be signed by a team, he is able to serve his suspension under contract. He is able to communicate and try out for a club, and if he is signed, is able to attend training camp this offseason. Advertisement Six massage therapists have come forward, accusing Tucker of inappropriate behavior during sessions that took place between 2012 and 2016. The allegations include claims that Tucker exposed himself, made inappropriate contact, and left bodily fluids on massage tables. After the investigation had gotten underway, Tucker released a statement to address the allegations. "The allegations against me in The Baltimore Banner article about me are unequivocally false. Throughout my career as a professional athlete, I have always sought to conduct myself with the utmost professionalism," said Tucker. "I have never before been accused of misconduct of any kind, and I have never been accused of acting inappropriately in front of a massage therapist or during a massage therapy session or during other bodywork. I have never received any complaints from a massage therapist, have never been dismissed from a massage therapy or bodywork session, and have never been told that I was not welcome at any spa or other place of business." Advertisement Tucker - maybe the best kicker of his generation - is coming off the worst year of his career. He made a disastrous 73.3 percent of his field goal attempts (especially compared to his all-time best career average of 89.1 percent). He also missed more field goals between 40 and 49 yards than he had in any other season. With the 10th pick of the sixth round of the NFL Draft, the Ravens took Arizona kicker Tyler Loop, who has the inside track to be Tucker's replacement this season. Ravens Training Camp Schedule Announced Starring 'New' Lamar Jackson

Ravens Training Camp Schedule Announced Starring 'New' Lamar Jackson originally appeared on Athlon Sports. OK, Baltimore Ravens fans, it's that time of year again... Ravens Official Training Camp is coming ... and on top of that a joint practice with the down the street Washington Commanders ... and a more scary than ever Lamar Jackson? Advertisement The first two aforementioned items are facts. The third one is a projection ... and. major storyline as the schedule for the summer has been released on the Baltimore Ravens' website. So here's the plan ... Rookies will arrive on the 15th of July, and returning players will show up a week, after, on the 22nd of July. Now, earlier we stated that there will be a joint practice with the Commanders ... Well, were going to be treated to another with the Indianapolis Colts on Aug. 5, while the one with Washington will be on the 21st of August. The Ravens have not played many of their starters in the preseason in recent years, of course, meaning the joint practices will be the best opportunity for starters to get tuned up against another team before Baltimore's regular-season opener against the Buffalo Bills on Sept. 7. Advertisement And that means a good look at MVP candidate Jackson, the gifted QB who has reportedly remade his frame and has slimmed down a bit. A more elusive Jackson? Hard to imagine. Hard to stop. Also worth watching: An entertaining 53-man team roster competition at the kicker position, where young talents Tyler Loop and John Hoyland will both doing their best to get Justin Tucker's old position. With all the joint practices and fights for positions - not to mention actual fights - we're ready for real football to begin.
