The Pensacola (Fla.) Catholic standout is ranked No. 4 at his position, No. 5 in the state of Florida and No. 28 in the nation by 247 Sports.
The 6-foot-4, 225-pound Henderson is the second five-star commitment in coach Brian Kelly's 2026 class, joining wide receiver Tristen Keys from Hattiesburg, Miss.
As a junior in 2024, Henderson collected 50 tackles (18 for loss) with 10 sacks and 20 quarterback hurries across 10 games.

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Lionel Messi and Inter Miami won their first match in the 2025 Leagues Cup but find themselves looking up at five other clubs in the tournament standings before their second match of the group stage. Inter Miami needs Messi to find his groove again if they're going to advance in the tournament. The 2025 Leagues Cup features a new format: While the matches are between Major League Soccer teams and LIGA MX clubs from Mexico, the top four clubs from each league will advance to the knockout stage. Earning three points for a win isn't enough in this year's edition. Goal differential is the next tiebreaker in the table, placing a greater emphasis on scoring to advance to the quarterfinals. 'You look at the table, and you've won and you're in sixth place because of the goal difference. There are still two games to play, a lot can happen,' Inter Miami coach Javier Mascherano said a day before the club's match against Necaxa at Chase Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 2. Messi delivered assists on goals scored by Telasco Segovia and Marcelo Weigandt in Inter Miami's 2-1 win against Atlas on July 30, but complained about feeling fatigued in his first match after having last week off. Messi was suspended for skipping the MLS All-Star Game on July 23, causing him to serve a one-game suspension on July 26. Before the layoff, Messi scored two goals in four of five matches following the FIFA Club World Cup. 'Even if [the rest] seems better, for me it's worse because I need to compete. I feel good physically the more matches I play and get into rhythm,' Messi told Apple TV. 'The other day they didn't let me compete, and I felt it in the first half, but the important thing is that we won.' Mascherano expects Messi to find his form again, especially with Inter Miami having three of its next four matches at home. The only away match is against in-state rival Orlando City on Aug. 10. 'Unless Leo feels tired and doesn't say anything, the idea is that if he feels good, he'll always play,' Mascherano said of Messi. Inter Miami needs its biggest star to keep pace with the MLS clubs in Leagues Cup. The Seattle Sounders thrashed reigning Concacaf Champions Cup winners Cruz Azul 7-0, while L.A. Galaxy beat Tijuana 5-2 on July 31. The Portland Timbers toppled Atlético de San Luis 4-0, and Minnesota United beat Querétaro 4-1 on July 30. Seattle, Portland, the Galaxy and Minnesota are the top four clubs in the MLS side of the Leagues Cup table, followed by FC Cincinnati (which beat Monterrey 3-2 on July 31), Inter Miami, the Colorado Rapids and New York Red Bulls. Those eight MLS clubs won their first Leagues Cup match. The top four on the LIGA MX side are Tigres UANL, FC Juarez, Puebla and Necaxa after the first round of matches. After facing Necaxa, Inter Miami will host Tigres UANL on Wednesday, Aug. 6 in their last match of the group stage. 'What keeps you going is trying to play well, get a good result, and then we'll see what happens,' Mascherano said. 'But I don't think there's much point in feeling sorry for yourself or focusing too much on other results.' Necaxa is led by new coach Fernando Gago, barely two months into the job. They beat Atlanta United 3-1 in their Leagues Cup opener on July 30. Gago was a starter alongside Messi and Mascherano in Argentina's 1-0 win in the Olympic men's soccer final in 2008, and came off the bench in their loss to Germany in the 2014 FIFA Club World Cup final. 'Fernando is a friend from soccer – someone I had the privilege of sharing many years with on the national team, but he's also someone I care about, someone I've shared moments with outside of soccer as well,' Mascherano said of Gago. 'It's always special to face people you know, people you've shared so many good times with. And in the end, when the ball starts rolling, I'll try to do everything I can to compete in the best way possible and win so we can still hope to qualify.' Rodrigo De Paul excited for opportunity to play alongside Lionel Messi at Inter Miami
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — Rodrigo De Paul has enjoyed years of playing alongside Lionel Messi for Argentina's national team, but the star midfielder said that for a long time, he's dreamed of playing on the same club with his good friend. 'Every time we would meet in the national team, the day-to-day was amazing," De Paul said through an interpreter, 'but at the end of the day, it ended up being quite short. I also wanted to feel that sensation of playing alongside the best.' So when Messi joined Inter Miami of Major League Soccer in 2023, De Paul started paying attention. He caught MLS matches when he could — between his busy schedule with then-club Atletico Madrid — and admired what Messi, co-owner David Beckham and Inter Miami were building in South Florida. Then Beckham approached De Paul with the idea of joining Inter Miami, and the 31-year-old made the choice to be a part of a league that intrigued him. 'It was spectacular to be able to play in Europe in the best leagues in the world,' De Paul said Friday morning at an introductory news conference, one week after he officially signed with Inter Miami on loan. The loan will run through the end of the 2025 MLS season and includes an option to make the transfer permanent through the 2029 season. De Paul, a World Cup champion with Messi and Argentina and a two-time Copa America winner, said he had a few offers to stay in Europe, but likes the challenge of a transition to MLS and knows a lot will be expected of him. 'I want to learn abut this league,' De Paul said. 'I want to be a part of this growth. ... I want to be part of (Inter Miami) and set a precedent so that players don't come here only for the end of their careers. We want players to feel like coming to this club is a commitment to the city and to the fans.' De Paul made his Inter Miami debut Wednesday in a 2-1 League's Cup win over Liga MX club Atlas. He played the full 90 minutes despite not having formally trained with his new team. Miami coach Javier Mascherano was impressed with De Paul's effort. He hadn't played in a match since Atletico Madrid exited the Club World Cup about a month ago, but De Paul was active and vocal on the pitch. 'Seeing him do what he did until the final minute is what we hoped to see from a player like him,' Mascherano said after Wednesday's match. 'We want him to be himself here and have that type of effort and level of play rub off on the rest of us as a team.' De Paul played for Atletico Madrid since 2021 after joining the Spanish club from Udinese, where he played since 2016. De Paul has played in 356 career matches with 45 goals and 56 assists. The move to Inter Miami gives De Paul and Messi a way to continue building their chemistry as they prepare for next summer's World Cup. 'For me, the most important thing of all is the Argentina national team,' De Paul said, adding that he spoke with his national team manager Lionel Scaloni before joining Inter Miami. 'He told me, 'I know what you can give me on the field. I know who you are,'" De Paul said. "'I'm only going to evaluate what you do on the field. Where ESPN ranks Clemson's 2025 schedule among toughest, easiest in college football
Week 1 of the 2025 college football season is less than a month away, and the Clemson Tigers have officially reported to fall camp. The Tigers, named the preseason favorites to win the ACC in the conference media poll, will face LSU on Aug. 30 at Memorial Stadium in a matchup that's as big as season openers get these days. A Clemson win would send a signal to the rest of college football that Dabo Swinney's Tigers are not only back, but that they're a serious threat to compete for the national title. A loss to LSU would hardly be fatal to Clemson's hopes of reaching the expanded College Football Playoff, but it would continue the narrative that the Tigers have been surpassed by their SEC counterparts after going 0-3 against them in head-to-head play last year, and just 3-7 since the 2019 national title game. As for the rest of Clemson's 2025 slate, ESPN senior college football writer Chris Low took a look at the toughest and easiest schedules for every Power Four conference team and FBS member. Here's what Low said about the Tigers' 2025 schedule. Clemson has toughest nonconference Power Four schedule, ESPN says In addition to Clemson's season opener with LSU, the Tigers will close the regular season against a South Carolina program that's on the rise after going 9-3 a year ago and winning their second straight trip to Death Valley. Having to face LSU's Garrett Nussmeier and South Carolina's LaNorris Sellers gives Clemson the toughest nonconference Power Four schedule in the nation, Low says. The veteran ESPN scribe put the Tigers' 12-game slate ahead of Stanford and Miami for the most difficult schedule (the Hurricanes face Notre Dame and the Florida Gators in nonconference play). "This was a coin flip between Clemson and Stanford until quarterback Jake Retzlaff departed BYU. Now the trip to No. 10 BYU on Sept. 6 doesn't look quite as daunting for the Cardinal, who end the season Nov. 29 at home against No. 7 Notre Dame. So Clemson gets the nod. The Tigers open the season Aug. 31 at home against No. 6 LSU, then close the season Nov. 29 on the road against bitter rival South Carolina, which is ranked No. 13. Clemson also faces Troy, a top contender in the Sun Belt Conference, at home a week after the LSU opener." --Chris Low, ESPN Low also put Clemson's matchups with LSU and South Carolina on his list of college football's 12 "must-see" games for 2025. For the second straight year and the third time since 2021, Clemson opens the season with a marquee nonconference showdown against an SEC opponent. The Tigers fell to the Georgia Bulldogs, 34-3, in Week 1 last year at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Clemson has dropped two of the past three meetings against South Carolina, as well as a lopsided defeat against Tennessee in the 2022 Orange Bowl, and a loss the 2021 opener against Georgia in Charlotte. The Tigers defeated the Gamecocks the last time the two rivals met in Columbia in 2023 and capped their season with a win over Kentucky in the Gator Bowl. "Clemson is 18-12 vs. the SEC since the start of the 2012 season, but the Tigers have lost seven of their past 10 games to SEC opponents, beginning with a 42-25 loss to LSU in the 2019 national championship game." --Chris Low, ESPN Easiest Power Four schedule belongs to ACC team, ESPN believes According to Low, the Power Four team with the easiest path to a bowl game in 2025 resides in the ACC: Wake Forest. A big reason why? The Deacs won't have Clemson on their schedule for the first time since before the ACC was even founded in 1953. Clemson and Wake Forest were two of the ACC's charter members, along with Duke, North Carolina, NC State, South Carolina and Maryland. "The Deacons avoid Clemson, Miami and Louisville in the ACC. Their first four games are at home along with two of their last three games. A game at No. 24 Ole Miss was replaced by a trip to Oregon State, meaning there are no Power 4 nonconference foes on the Deacons' schedule.
